Excellent service throughout - welcome greeting with the standard DoubleTree cookies and complimentary coffee. Our check in should have been 3pm but they managed to switch our rooms to some which were nearly ready and we were in by around 12:30, which meant we could unpack and get ourselves to the Taj Mahal with plenty of time for sunset.
We had the a la carte menu one evening which was fantastic. Food delicious, prices reasonable, and we were offered some complimentary desserts from the buffet, as well as some snacks while we waited.
The TV did not work when we arrived in the room but after a quick call to reception, somebody arrived and fixed it within 5 minutes, and checked up with us later that it was still working.
The room was spacious and the bed and pillows exceptionally comfy - we slept very well, with little noise!
There is a pool, steam rooms (separate male/female), and spa facilities. I had a haircut while my partner and her friend had massage treatments - excellent service, good standard of English to explain health problem/areas to avoid massaging, and a very attentive hairdresser for myself.
The pool is open until later in the evening and there is somebody on duty. It is not a deep pool so no need for adults to be great swimmers. You get an excellent view of sunset from the infinity pool, and if you stay up a little later you'll get to experience bats flying overhead trying to catch bugs hovering near the pool.
Second night we ordered room service which arrived promptly. There was some confusion with the food order so it wasn't *exactly* what we'd ordered but it was acceptable to us so we didn't ask for any amendments. My advice would be to choose words from the menu selectively. E.g. don't say the 'creamy pesto' sauce for the pasta, instead simply say 'pesto', as we got a creamy non-pesto sauce. But we enjoyed it nonetheless.
For final lunch we had food in the kebab bar (which also serves the a la carte menu). The food again was great quality and large portions.
The reception organised taxis with us, including drivers to wait in car parks at tourist attractions while we visited, which takes a lot of the hassle out of sorting transport there and back, especially if there's too many of you to fit in a tuk tuk.
There is a business centre with some working space, and reception are happy to do some small printing for you free of charge.
As you enter, the car is checked by security, and then when you enter through to the reception any bags are scanned, so you can feel very secure.
Possibly the only thing I would suggest is having a 'do not disturb' hanger for the door handle. There is a switch to disable the room doorbell, but that doesn't necessarily stop somebody knocking if they think your TV is still broken.
One bit of advice is to allow extra time when dining - the service is very attentive but can sometimes be slow.
I would definitely stay here again. Very relaxing, safe, comfortabke stay.

Really well located hotel in Agra. Excellent base to see all the sights from.
Rooms were typcial of any double tree, we initially were given a smoking room which stank of smoke so if you dont smoke remember to specify a non-smoking. This wasnt a problem though as the hotel staff were very good at moving our room without any issues or time lost.
All services from the hotel were really good, we couldnt eat in the main indian restaurant as was booked for a private party, though we could order from the menu in the other multi-cuisine/buffet restaurant, which is where we ate. The food was great, though the atmosphere in this restaurant is like an airport hotel with no ambiance at all. Ashame the main restaurant was closed to residents that night as looked a better experience. Breakfast in the multi-cuisine was great, with lots to choose from.
The hotel travel guest arranged a driver for us and a tour guide for the Taj and Fort, both were excellent and htough I know I paid more it was worth it for the assurance of professional english speaking guide and driver. We also managed to skip all the queues at the each site, something the guide managed to sort so was a real VIP experience. Hotel organised same chauffeur to take us to Delhi, so we asked to go via Fatepur sikri which we did. The driver, Ram, was excellent and I highly recommend using the hotel driver services; he once chauffered for Hilary Clinton and has the photos to prove it.
Would certainly stay here again

My recent stay at the DoubleTree Agra was an extraordinary experience that I will cherish for a lifetime. From the moment I arrived with my family, we were greeted with genuine warmth and a level of hospitality that exceeded all our expectations. However, it was not just the exceptional service that impressed us; it was the hotel's remarkable effort to go above and beyond that truly set it apart.
During our delightful time, my wife accidentally left her purse behind at the pool . It was only later, when we were back in Delhi, that we realized it was missing. In a state of panic, we immediately contacted the front desk, hoping against hope that it had been found. To our immense relief, the staff informed us that the purse had indeed been discovered and promptly secured for us. Their efficiency and attentiveness in handling the situation were truly praiseworthy. The peace of mind we felt, knowing that the hotel staff had successfully recovered the lost purse, was priceless. It demonstrated their unwavering commitment to ensuring the utmost satisfaction of their guests.
In addition to the outstanding service, the dining experience at the DoubleTree Agra was simply phenomenal. The breakfast and dinner options provided an exquisite culinary journey that left us utterly impressed. The breakfast buffet was a feast for the senses, offering a wide range of delectable choices to satisfy every palate. From freshly baked pastries to made-to-order omelets, the quality and variety of the dishes were impeccable. Furthermore, the attentive staff ensured that we had everything we needed, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience.
Beyond the exceptional recovery of my wife's lost purse and the mouthwatering meals, the DoubleTree Agra excelled in creating an inviting and comfortable atmosphere. The rooms were tastefully furnished, providing a cozy haven after a day of exploring the city. The diligent housekeeping staff ensured that our room was impeccably cleaned and replenished throughout our stay, further enhancing

Unclean Rooms and Poor Housekeeping: Bedsheets and bathrobes were rarely changed, and the room wasn’t cleaned properly during the stay.
Limited Food Options and Hygiene Concerns: A fly was found in the yogurt, and the buffet offered very few choices including in fruits.
Unresponsive Room Service: Requests were ignored, and the service quality did not meet expectations. ...
Our stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Agra was disappointing. While the room size was spacious, the cleanliness was lacking right from our arrival. The housekeeping staff, while cleaning, didn’t pay attention to keeping things in order. If bathrobes were left in bath area, they stayed there even after cleaning, and if the hair dryer was out, it remained untouched in the same spot. We even found hair in the bath area after the room had supposedly been cleaned.
The bathrobes were never replaced, and even when they were lying in the bath area or on the press table, they stayed there, even when the staff cleaned the room while we were present. one day we left bathrobes on press table on purpose to see if they would replace it. They didn’t even ask if we wanted them replaced, which is concerning when you’re in the room. Typically, housekeeping staff would ask, but at this hotel, that wasn’t the case.
It also seemed like they were limited on housekeeping staff, as the same lady came to clean without the proper cleaning kits, which added to the overall subpar service. Even the towels provided weren’t as clean as expected.
The pool was small, and the location of the hotel was just average. A major issue was the limited food options and hygiene concerns—there was a fly in the yogurt, and the buffet, especially the fruit selection, was minimal. Throughout our stay, no staff or chef came to ask for feedback, which was quite surprising for a hotel of this standard.
It wasn’t until we were checking out that the staff finally took our feedback, and only then did the brand manager come into the picture when we mentioned the hygiene and the issue with a fly in the strawberry yogurt. Someone from the kitchen also came by to ask about the yogurt, as initially, the staff had taken it away and brought it back without giving us a fresh serving, which was concerning.
Overall, the poor service and lack of hygiene completely overshadowed the spacious room. I would not recommend staying at this hotel—it’s not worth the price if basic cleanliness and service standards are compromised.

A extremely professionally managed property with warm and welcoming staff. From their door man to their housekeeping to F&B team. We had called a day prior to check if we can get an early check-in, since we were to arrive into Agra at an odd hour. The lady Aakanksha who answered the call was professional in informing us that they will do what they can when we arrive, else extend a room for an immediate wash and change.
Thankfully on our arrival, Jasleen who was managing the front desk, was really kind in allowing us an really early check-in for both our rooms, which was huge blessing.
During our stay, there was a facade window cleaning process and the hotel was professional in sending us little cards to inform us of this, so that we can keep our room window curtains drawn & maintain privacy.
The rooms are clean & well maintained.
In terms of location, it is close to the Taj and thus practical.
It was undoubtedly a very pleasant stay & we are sure to return here on our next visit to Agra.

There was a strange smell coming from the room and the maintenance was also poor. The staff was not friendly and the buffet was very basic. Was disappointed in the hotel. I would not recommend it to other tourists, the food was bad and constantly cold, very little variety, breakfast, lunch and dinner were always the same. The staff was always rude, housekeeping didn't clean well at all or change bed sheets at all. , Bathroom has had a horrible smell all week, drainage guessed but not sure.

New structure, extremely clean and fragrant both in the common areas and in the rooms, I would say up to European standards but with an excellent quality/price ratio. I was pleasantly struck by the variety of vegetarian and vegan choices (normally for non-meat eaters like me it is not easy to eat abroad, even if I am aware that this choice lies more in the location of the hotel than in policy choices). All dishes delicious and with a wide choice. Attentive staff, good welcome. Everything was perfect, with the only small misunderstanding: air conditioning at 21 degrees, and the room was very cold given that we are in winter anyway (in reality the air conditioning is a bit high everywhere, even in the restaurant). I asked the reception before dinner to intervene to heat the room but when we went back after dinner nothing had been done. Fortunately we found an employee in charge of the room on our floor who was really prompt in bringing us a really efficient heater that quickly heated the room.

I recently stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton, Agra, a property advertised as a 5-star experience. Given the reputation of the Hilton brand, I had high expectations, but unfortunately, my stay left me with mixed feelings.
The Positives: One of the things I truly appreciated was the room size. The rooms are spacious, providing plenty of comfort and space to unwind. If you're looking for a place with ample room to move around and relax, this property certainly delivers in that aspect.
The Disappointments: However, the rest of my stay fell short of expectations, especially for a property carrying the Doubletree name.
First off, the pool size was a bit of a letdown. For a hotel of this caliber, you’d expect a larger and more luxurious pool, but that wasn’t the case here. If a good pool experience is high on your list, this may not meet your needs.
Then comes the food quality and variety. I was quite underwhelmed by the limited options, especially at breakfast. The buffet seemed to be lacking in variety, and the quality wasn’t as high as I’ve experienced in other 5-star properties in Agra. The options on menu were limited and the prices for room service and other meals are okay, but the food options really fell flat. More troubling was the lack of hygiene.
This morning at breakfast, I found a fly in their strawberry yogurt. I informed the staff to remove it. However, I couldn’t shake the feeling that instead of replacing the yogurt, they just removed the fly and put it back on the buffet. It’s incidents like this that make you question the cleanliness standards. I also noticed small insects flying around the breakfast tables—something that should not be happening at a 5-star establishment.
Another downside was the quality of toilet tissues in the bathroom. They were rough, which felt out of place for a hotel that charges premium rates.
Service Could Be Better: One of the key aspects of a 5-star stay is the service, but unfortunately, this was another area where Doubletree by Hilton Agra didn’t impress. The service felt below the mark. The overall experience felt lacking compared to the level of service I’ve experienced at other high-end properties.
While Doubletree by Hilton, Agra does offer spacious rooms, the shortcomings in service, cleanliness, food variety, and hygiene make it hard for me to recommend. If you're expecting a true 5-star experience, you might be disappointed, as I was. If food variety and hygiene are priorities, you may want to consider other properties.
Rating: 2/5
If you do decide to stay here, be sure to manage your expectations. For the price they charge, I believe there are better options available but room size could differ.
