Perhaps the best hotel you will ever visit. A modern palace with some of the most beautiful art I have ever seen anywhere, let alone in a hotel. But what really sets this place above the rest is the staff. When you're at a hotel of this caliber in India, the service is always great - service is a huge part of Indian culture. But at the Leela, they are absolutely incredible. We practically had our own little nephew in our dear Vishmbher who was always on hand to make sure we were happy and looked after. The restaurant staff was also incredible - Antara, in particular made us feel like royalty. And the food was terrific. The rooms are large and luxurious. The pool is beautiful, the spa magical and the service impeccable. Run, don't walk to the Leela.

Response from NambyRajesh, General Manager at The Leela Palace Udaipur
Responded 2 Nov 2019
Dear Guest, Thanks a lot for choosing to stay with us and for taking out time to post your review on TripAdvisor. Our credo is Athithi Devo Bhava, which literally translates as "Guest is God", and honestly, I am truly delighted to note that my TEAM, stood up to your expectations. We take pride in our TEAM and their ability to execute with humility and yet being professional. Our award winning ESPA is definitely an outstanding experience of its own. Our therapists are extremely well trained and very professional. A small boat cruise on Lake Pichola to reach our Palace is indeed an incredible experience as it gives a brilliant insight to the history of the Mewar Dynasty and the Flora & Fauna of the Aravalli ranges. I must also add here that we have the largest room size in the luxury segment for most category of our rooms overlooking the pristine water of Pichola. Sheesh Mahal, our Indian Fine Dining Restaurant, perched on Lake Pichola under the stary skies is definitely a must do in our modern day Palace. Advance table reservations are always recommended as this is one of the most sought after dining destinations in Udaipur. We are committed to consistently providing warm, efficient and discrete service to our guests, so your appreciation and acknowledgement is our greatest reward! My team and I look forward to welcoming you back soon. Best regards, Rajesh Namby General Manager

My husband and I booked the vacation from California. Right from the booking to our 4 night stay there, everything was A++. We had requested hotel car to pick us up from the airport. When our flight arrived in the evening, a 7-series BMW with very friendly and warm driver was waiting for us. He explained the history and pointed out points of interest in the surrounding areas. He took us to their own dock where were were greeted by two employees of Leela's and ushered to the small boat that took us to the hotel. Everything breeze with the lights shimmering on the calm lake, disturbed only by our boat. Beautiful! When we got down from the boat, we were greeted with folk music played by local musicians. When we stepped inside the hotel, we were showed with real flower petals. Yes, flower petals falling on us from above. So we look up and find a person gently throwing petals on us. When we arrived in our lake front room, accompanied by the front desk manager, we were greeted by a Butler waiting with 2 cups of best tasting Swiss hot chocolate. Every meal we had in the hotel, from breakfast, to lunch to dinner was absolutely unbelievable. (I am an avid cook and have very high standards for Indian food. So believe me when I say the food was great.) The chefs were ready to cook special food for us. They made us feel very special. Their outdoor restaurant is an experience. They have a local lady cooking all special Indian breads in front of you. All you need to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the view of the gentle waives of the lake, beautifully it palace, while listening to the soft notes of the local musical instrument being played a few feet away. You cannot believe that life can be so beautiful and peaceful, until you have experienced this yourself. Each morning, we were woken by the gentle sounds of a flute being played by a local musician in the courtyard that is located in the center of the hotel. The same courtyard got transformed into a stage for the local dancers to show off their art, colors, and music. The property is beautiful. You feel you are living inside your dream. The furniture, paintings, fresh flowers, window coverings, carpets... Everything is so beautifully put together. The people are warm, welcoming and just waiting for the opportunity to please you. I am a huge critic. I find faults with everything. But I could not find a single fault in this place. If you are planning a trip to India, be sure to visit this Leela Palace. I highly recommend it.

Do you have stroller or pram fr toddlers?
Hi, I would say yes only for guests. The jetty docks only at the station specifically for Leela Palace and that is the same thing in the other hotels in the lake area. However, you can confirm it with hotel management.
