Chrissies is the ideal place for nature, yoga and art lovers alike. It is set amidst Gardens of lush greenery, tropical flowers and natural teak forests in a quiet but central part of Thekkady, where a wide range of wild animals are frequent visitors. All the Rooms are simply furnished, yet hold elegance in their unique and individual style. Each being decorated by Artists from all over the world. In a relaxing ambiance our Cafe offers a varied menue of Italian and Middle eastern cuisine. We serve complimentary continental breakfast. The Rooftop Pool and Lounge area provides a peaceful atmosphere with stunning views of the Western Ghats. Our spacious Yoga studio is open for self practice, classes and long term retreats. Note, that we there are serveral stairs to take to reach the Hotel building and we do not have an elevator.

Its with sadness that we leave Chrissie's and Periyar Nature Reserve. Chrissie's hotel is one of the best, if not the best place we've stopped in India. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. They all knew exactly what we were doing and when so they've had early breakfasts ready for us on 2 mornings, they arranged an intercity taxi when our online booking fell through at 7pm the night before, staff came to carry our bags 5 mins before the taxi was due, there is a laundry service. The room has been great with its fabulous balcony, comfortable bed, flasks of hot water for tea and regular fresh towels. The breakfast is fabulous including homemade bread and interesting jams - banana and passion fruit, banana and lemon, a sweet tomato (which tastes like strawberry), peanut butter and chocolate spread, all homemade. There is also daily yoga available.
We've seen elephants and monkeys in the nature reserve to boot! I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here and highly recommend Chrissie's.

We stayed at Chrissies for one night during our visit to the Periyar Forest Reserve. It is a great location amid lush greenery and no disturbance despite being just a short walk to the main market area. The most amazing thing was the art work all over including our rooms which gave it a very aesthetic look. The service was courteous and friendly. The breakfast although modest was really tasty. We loved the homemade Jam and fruit preserve. The only thing we probably missed was a ceiling fan and the electric kettle in the room. Great place to stay in Thekkady for nature lovers at a very good price.

We stayed at Chrissie's for 3 nights in March on our Kerala tour. The location is perfect, just 300m from the entrance to the national park, which is ideal because you have to be at the entrance by 7:30 a.m. for the day tours. It is also just a few meters to the "Main Street" and you can find some souvenirs there. The rooms are clean and quietly located in the countryside. From the balcony, we could watch the monkeys that passed by the hotel almost every day. The breakfast and dinner were simply great. The pool on the roof not only has a great view, but is also an inviting place to relax after a strenuous day in the park. But we were most impressed by Adel and Ulli. We have never met such helpful and warm-hearted hotel owners. Our every wish was fulfilled and they helped us with tips and orders. We also spent a wonderful evening with the two of them. If we are in Thekkady again, we will definitely stay at Chrissie's. Thank you for the great stay.

It was so wonderful to be greeted with the most enthusiastic welcome when I arrived. Adel, the owner sets the bar so high in hospitality- nothing is a problem or too much trouble and he and all the staff at the hotel create such a relaxed amd positive atmosphere. The rooms are great- super clean and everything you need - with the joy of watching the black monkeys from the balcony. I loved the rooftop space and the yoga classes with such a lovely yoga teacher in a dedicated airy yoga room within the hotel. Adel and his team were brilliant at recommending and helping me to book activities. They also ensured a lovely fruit/ muesli/ delicious homemade bread breakfast was available in time for some very early starts. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. I will definitely be back, there is something very special about it that makes you feel so happy and relaxed.

The hotel is located in a very nice and perfectly maintained garden. It is located in a quiet area and close to all amenities. Adel, the hotel manager, will welcome you with warmth and sympathy. It is possible to book massages, yoga sessions, laundry etc. directly at the hotel. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very well decorated by volunteer artists from around the world.

YOU HAVE TO STAY AT CHRISSIE's!! I cannot recommend this hotel enough. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed with the warmest and hospitable welcome by the owner Adel and instantly felt at home. The hotel itself is beautiful, with balconies that overlook an amazing garden with beautiful trees where you see lots of wildlife like monkeys and birds. The breakfast was delicious, with a great spread of things and the pool is just dreamy. They organised a bamboo rafting trek for us which was great and made things very easy for us. The main highlight for us though was the staff and we will always remember Chrissie's as a very special place because of them! Thank you!!

This place is a real gem. The staff is not only welcoming and attentive, and they go out of their way to set up anything for you or give advice on what to do. There’s a great hang out area by the pool on top, as well as a hangout area below. Breakfast is wonderfully basic and perfect with everything homemade, even the bread. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, hot water and good Wi-Fi, with a great view and nice size balcony, and hot water is waiting outside your room early in case you want some early tea etc. You might see a buggy creature crawling on walls at night, but this is the jungle, so sit back and enjoy—bugs won’t hurt you! I would highly recommend Chrissie’s!

Selecting this hotel to stay in Thekkadi is the best decision we made in our Kerala trip. Undoubtedly this is best property to stay in Thekkadi. Mr. Adil's (owner)warm welcome at the entrance brings the first positive vibe and as we enter it starts Unfolding more surprises... Never expected that the rooms are inside a forest full of birds, butterflies and exotic fruits and flowers. They welcome us with a fresh home made drink. Entire hotel is a masterpiece of art and culture, coexisted in mid of nature. Rooms, stairs, and pathways are beautifully painted by various artists. Breakfast was excellent, with many homemade items like German breads, jam etc. One can relax and rejuvenate just by sitting in the balcony. Moreover, there is a rooftop infinity pool and a very nice open area to lie down and relax. I can keep on writing about this hotel for hours as I'm a superbly thrilled and satisfied customer of Chrissie's hotel. However, Our stay was just for a day and literally had to drag ourselves out for our next destination. Thank you Mr. Adil and team for such a wonderful experience. Shall meet again.

We recently stayed at Chrissie's Hotel and had a fantastic experience. We received the warmest welcome from the team on arrivall which continued throughout our stay. The hotel staff helped with arranging things to do (although absolutely no pressure to book anything) which was greatly appreciated. We really managed to relax and unwind here which was much needed after the hustle and bustle of other large cities which we had visited previously.
The rooms are excellent value, clean, comfortable, and peacetul with a lovely balcony. The food in the restaurant was delicious - we really enjoyed the vegetable biriyani, onion pakora, and parrota. Even if your not staying here, it’s worth a visit for the food and excellent service.
Thank you for a great stay - we were sad to be leaving!

A group of 4 friends we spent 3 nights at the Chrissie's Hotel. We are extremely happy with the rooms each with a balcony overlooking a gorgeous garden full of life - birds, monkeys, squirrels. You can enjoy it for hours! Great breakfast and some of the foods (jams, honey) are produced by the owner of the hotel - Chrissy! But the most valuable of this hotel are the people who work there. I cannot express my huge appreciation to the other owner Adel who literally organized our stay in Thekkady in the best possible way. All the time we stay at the hotel we feel like we visit friends. I highly recommend the property and I should add also that the prices are very reasonable.
