I actually asked for room that can accommodate my elderly Dad and brother also with an extra bed. Given my Dad's advanced age, i wanted a room without bath tub. And since i was busy in meetings, just wanted to ensure, they are served food at room on time so that they can have medicines on time. Practically, the food was served on time, the room provided was without a bath tub and the cleaning was frequent to keep it hygiene. Overall experience is fantastic

We were welcomed by the staff with warmth. Stay was comfortable in all respects. The location of the facility is away from the hustle bustle of the city, yet easily accessible from any part of the city !! Ample car parking and valet services are available at the hotel

The Taj Gateway Calicut property clearly shows its age and is in urgent need of renovation. From the front gate to the grounds, the entrance, and the lobby, the infrastructure appears neglected, with visible signs of wear and tear. While the staff was courteous and the service commendable, the physical condition of the hotel leaves much to be desired. Maintenance seems to have been overlooked entirely. During our stay, we hosted guests and opted for the buffet at the restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The spread was unremarkable, and none of the dishes stood out in quality. The chicken, in particular, was tough and tasted stale, lacking the freshness and aroma one expects at a Taj property. The pool also appeared outdated and uninspiring. Overall, the property requires significant refurbishment to meet the standards associated with the ‘Taj’ brand. Without this, it may be time to reconsider its association with such a prestigious name.

I recently stayed at this property and was quite disappointed as it did not meet the usual Taj standards. The hotel feels very outdated, and the room quality was far below expectations.
The rooms were visibly aged, with leaking taps and maintenance issues. Instead of a proper king-sized bed, two single beds were joined together, which was uncomfortable. The hygiene standards were concerning, as I noticed cockroaches in the room—this is completely unacceptable. While I appreciate the courteous and helpful staff, it does not compensate for the poor room conditions. I sincerely hope the management takes immediate action to upgrade the facilities and improve cleanliness to uphold the reputation of the Taj brand.

We spent couple of days in this hotel for a recent family trip to Kozhikode. The Taj experience was delightful.
We had a Oceanic Suite room, and the room was very clean, had nice bath and good design
Overall the room gave a nice Taj experience, and the family loved it. We had nice large screen television, decent internet, very cool centralized air conditioning and spacious room
There was an elaborate swimming pool, well maintained
The staff in the lobby were very helpful in guiding us to the town, and the front ambience was very traditional yet having a modern feel
Cannot point to any issues in our stay
The location was a very calm place, yet very close to Kozhikode beach and the city
We thorughly enjoyed the stay

I recently stayed at in Taj Calcuit, While the location and overall cleanliness of the hotel were satisfactory, I was disappointed with the size of the room in relation to the price charged.
The room felt quite small and cramped, which made it difficult to move around comfortably. Additionally, given the price I paid for the room, I had expected a more spacious and comfortable environment.

In the Hotel industry, "old age charm" does not always appeal to customers.
The Hotel needs to be more friendly towards the elderly. If anyone has problem with climbing or if your parents are on wheelchair, or you are differently abled, please avoid this hotel. Too many steps everywhere. This aspect needs urgent attention.
The food and service saved the hotel from very negative feedback.
The food was pretty good, and the service was excellent.
The sleep was comfortable.
The bath was good, but the toilet was falling apart the lock looked as old as the hotel. There were no toiletries (toothbrush, tooth paste etc.) kept in the room not that we use those.
The ayurveda centre was very clean and spacious. The quality of the massage could be better though.
The location of the hotel is amazing – just 100 meters from the Kozhikode beach.

Excellent place for a place exclusively without much restrictions when friends meet up after a long time. The hospitality was excellent. Understanding our set of people being friends and anticipating the situation beforehand they had arranged the rooms on the same floor so it was easy for us to move between rooms.

I would especially like to recognize Abhishek,Binaj,Jishnu, Blisina, Neha, and Sanjay for their warm and attentive service. Their willingness to go the extra mile truly elevated my experience.
