The Ocean Pearl hotel garners praise for its attentive service and prime location, with guests appreciating the easy access to the city mall and junctions. The hotel's amenities, including diverse dining options and live music, contribute to a satisfying experience, while the cleanliness standards receive special commendation.
Though some guests consider the decor a tad outdated, the spacious rooms generally meet expectations. While opinions on value vary, the inviting atmosphere, marred only slightly by an occasional food odor, adds to the hotel's allure.

Detailed Reviews
Overall room stay was very good. Whilst there were some very small items that needed to be reolooked, the same were given priority by the Duty manager and ensured that our stay was comfortable.
In room dining service is very good, given that the hotel is popular for their in house restaurants in terms of food quality.
House keeping was also prompt & Valet services are efficient
Location of the hotel is a big plus point with a range of options to shop & eat within a very close distance

Took us hours to find the place (using an offline Maps App that has it in entirely the wrong location 2 miles away). Arrived late, hot, sweaty and tired after a very long and arduous motorbike trip from Hassan, only to be told they weren't expecting us. That's the end of the bad news. Staff were really helpful, sorting out our rooms and luggage very quickly and with little fuss. Rooms were a good size, with good, quiet aircon. Beds were large and comfortable and the bathroom was also large and well equipped. Everything was clean and tidy.
The restaurant is superb - serving a mix of cuisines - and we got a beer for the first time in a few days to wash away the dust of the 'off-roading' bike trip over from Hassan.

Our family had a harrowing experience at this hotel. Although we had booked 3 suites well in advance (Dec 26th-29th 2019),and reconfirmed a few days earlier,, and again the same morng ( we were driving to Mangalore from Coorg) we were in for a rude shock. On arrival, well past 4 pm , we found only one suite ready. We were told one suite had some "technical" problem and the other, apparently had a guest , who they could not trace !!
After a long road journey with 4 small kids in tow, i was taken aback at the casual attitude of the front desk staff.. they obviously allowed the guests to extend their stay, charging more of course, and assumed we would reach only in the evng and hence would by then get the room readied. If there was any delay or technical problem somebody should have called us to ask if we were okay with being moved to deluxe rooms or whatever.. we ourselves were asked by our resort in Coorg, to check out at 12 noon or little earlier, so rooms could be readied for the next guests. We must have spent an hour in that lobby arguing, frustrated and tired, till we finally got our room keys. An utter shame ! speaks of inconsideration ,poor handling and lack of respect for your guests .Many of our family members were ill after eating the chutney at the coffee shop where we had breakfast... only those who ate that chutney fell ill .. so we are sure of that. The breakfast buffet is served in a room so tiny, that it cannot comfortably hold the constant stream of guests.. the buffet area takes up most of the space and moving with a plate to the table is so tight that one could easily have the plate fall if anybody bumps into you.. the management needs to look into this

It was a special trip to see my Athe (Aunty), ie my mother’s only sister-in-law. I was nervous taking my 97 year old mother to mangalore. However, when the heart speaks one must listen.
From the very start of booking a premium suite to leaving this hotel, I was impressed by the booking staff who were well aware of the need for “pandemic safety’. They assured me that they had taken measures to ensure that non-residents did not access hotel rooms.
The rooms were spacious & clean. All gadgets worked as expected. The thermostat helped manage the heat/humidity expected during the month of September in Mangalore. The South Indian thali was delicious & aromatic. The waiters were thoughtful.
The complimentary breakfast buffet was well laid out. Fortunately the music was kept at a lower level, which helped people who might use hearing aids.
We did notice that the staff appeared to be polite & helpful with others as well.
I definitely recommend the hotel if one is looking for a hotel centrally located. A stay that makes you feel home away from home.

This hotel is located in a prime location close to city center. Having stayed there twice, once in 2020 and in 2021, I can very safely vouch for the superior service as well as cleanliness. Hotel also boasts of several restaurants which again provide superior service and great food. Breakfast is complimentary (was for me), and the choice of local food very elaborate. Egg preparations like omelettes can be had on demand. Hotel has plenty of rooms available for exhibitions and private parties.
Very highly recommended.

I was in mangalore for a day and was checking in at the ocean pearl for the night, my check in process was smooth and in time they gave me my room and also offered assistance with rooming me and showing me around, the ladies at the front desk are really professional and helpful. They helped me with my cab bookings and my wake up calls. The hotel is great and at a nice location, rooms were clean and tidy, the service was efficient, highly recommend this hotel if you’re in mangalore .

A good upscale hotel in Mangalore with good facilities. Complimentary Breakfast is mainly of traditional Mangalore items. Spacious and clean rooms. Lounge and corridors are big enough. The two days stay was very good for me and family.

I spent 3 days there and I was out most of the time. The accommodation, service and food is average. They DO NOT have any COVID precaution, they did not check my temperature or sanitize my bag on arrival. They also did not have any social distancing during the complimentary buffet breakfast. Their breakfast was buffet style where all guests were touching the ladles to serve themselves.
Sheets in my room was stained too at the time of check-in and it was immediately changed on request.

Stayed in this hotel in dec 2019, nice place, quiet, city centre location. Service is slow a bit but manageable.... breakfast is good...it’s costly undeniably ₹5320 per night for single room even booking 6 months in advance. I would advise if u r travelling on business or with family, it is good but if u r single, explore other choices. I was lucky to have double room being single, room was spacious for two ppl but difficult to stay with kids. Though lots of cigarette smoke and alcohol smell in the corridors but rooms were ok.
