It’s a beautiful resort and very private. There was a confusion around the number of beds per room but we managed to sort it out. As a tip, especially for larger groups intending to stay at the villas, ask the resort manager to explain the number of beds per room especially if three people are sharing per room. Do an stocktake on the number of towels per room as well so that there is no confusion between you and the resort on the number of towels allocated to each villa. It’s $40.00 FJD to replace a missing towel.
The villa itself has a fully equipped kitchen with pots, plan, cooking appliances and cutleries. Even a rice cooker! Because the resort is a bit isolated, I really recommend having/renting a car for those food supply runs.
The view is very beautiful and I really recommend renting villa 3 because you get to see the sunrise beaming out of the mountain.
Let me know if you have any questions. Hope my review was helpful.

I have never heard of this place until we came for a work trip this week, absolutely amazing views of the misty mountain & ocean. I was so fortunate to have had the chance to experience the tranquility of nature at its best. Great amenities all around and very helpful staff. Highly recommend for a family or friends get together venue. Worth a one week work trip waking up to misty mountain and the sun rise outside your room!

Well we have just returned after an amazing week in Sapphire Bay Villa in Fiji. The views are spectacular and the villa itself is simply spacious, immaculate and a delight to stay in. We self catered for the week and enjoyed shopping in the markets in Lautoka and Nadi - we also visited the Boatshed for a beautiful lunch one day.
On our last evening we arrange for a Fijian Dinner to be cooked for us through the Villa owners and it was an amazing, fun evening with delicious Fijian culture and food to boot. If you are looking for somewhere to switch off from the hub-bub of every day life then Sapphire Bay is your destination. It is set on the side of a beautiful hill side and overlooks the ocean, sitting in the infinity pool looking at the breath taking views are rare to find.
The swimming pool and outdoor areas are also great for the family of 5 - we had 1 child and 2 grandparents with us and there was so much space to spread out in the villa, either sitting by the pool reading a book or sipping a cold Fiji Beer!
I cannot recommend this Villa enough and the owners could not have been more helpful and accommodating - we will be back for sure and thanks to everyone who made our trip so very special.

Road to the villa is terrible! The frypan in the kitchen needs replacement, perhaps a note on booking.com stating no dishwasher and No airconditioning near kitchen / living area! Wall cracks and ants crawling through it! Most of the lights not working properly, aircons in the rooms are too old and needs servicing! Kitchen is very disorganised!

The place is exceptional in terms for the beauty and the luxury however it is not secure, definitely not a private villa as the employees see what you do and where u go every single day. My husbands brand new Nike shoes go missing the 1 day we all went out for a massage which was inside the villa, no one takes responsibility, maid has a own key which she uses when we are still in the villa without notifying anyone, enters through the laundry. No mounted safe to keep your belongings.
The pool is way too deep for villa #2 even for a 1.6 ft person. There is no security half of the time. We were accused of taking our own shoes and made to check our bags 4 times. Police were called as they called the missing shoes "a mystery" just because no one took any responsibility. The villa was fully locked with no visible tempering, also they have a storage inside the villa that they can access when they like. The maid did not clean the villa even once the 2.5 nights we stayed.
After the shoe went missing, we asked the police to be called as it was not secure, we were asked for the receipt and cctv footage that my husband did wear the shoes to the villa. This was ridiculous. There is no check in stock take of the items, however upon check out coz of the commotion, we were accused of taking door mats and towels. Remember, we paid US dollars to steal towels.
Upon all this, we were told that the police will escort us out of the villa. We did not take the shoes, it went missing from there.
After packing out stuff and all the commotion, the Lady Mrs Va, said that she has the right to check our bags under the CID Act, however with no authorisation or act with her to clarify her claims to check our bags herself. My husband checked our bags in front of her and the police and I recorded it. After which she mentioned that the mats were missing.
We were given $200 for the shoes, however it was the fact that no one took responsibility of where the shoes went and blaming us that we did something with it which is not a mystery.
The service is very unprofessional with unethical people. We were refunded for the remaining 1 night but does not change the fact of the humiliation of paying so much for the "private villa" but not having any privacy and stealing our own stuff.
If anyone is interested in staying here, please have your receipt, cctv ready for all your items in case they go missing and the mystery cannot be solved.
After all this, they called and checked a company vehicle of my brother in law which he is authorised to use, to "check if it was his car". Like we stole the car also.
We did not have a good day, we did enjoy the first 2 nights however it is not secure and cannot rely on the employees as they trust one another and vouch for one another that is why the shoe remains a mystery. (maybe the shoe just walked off)
Loved the villa though but a change of employee and privacy would be appreciated. I told them, if anyone has taken the shoes, just return it and we will not take it any further, but they decided to add small things to that and make things even worse.
Would you take cctv footage from the airport to a resort a villa with receipt in case it goes missing? Not likely.

Stayed here in early December. Can't say enough good things. Beautiful place. The staff were at our beck and call and extremely friendly and accommodating. They sent a driver to pick us up at the airport, and he ended up taking care of all us ten for ten days. The kitchen should be used!! We cooked most of our meals. Staying here you have privileges at Anchorage Bay and First Landing resorts. Anchorage Bay is walking distance, First Landing you need a car. Anytime we wanted a car, a phone call ( with the supplied cell phone) would have a car sent immediately.
Just as a heads up, this is like staying in your own home. There is no maid service ( though I am sure if you asked, it could be arranged). We did our own cleaning up and our own laundry. There are no safes for personal belongings, but we felt very comfortable and had no problems. A wonderful vacation, and we are already planning for next year. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Sapphire Bay villas for 2 weeks. 2 families totaling 9 people. Plenty of space over 2 master bedrooms and 2 additional bedrooms. Very large living room with open kitchen with gorgeous views of the bay over an infinity pool. Villa was clean but could do with some TLC (broken tiles, falling skirting boards, very basic and old kitchen utilities, no dishwasher). 5 minute hike to local rocky beach and 3 minute drive to small harbour and local restaurant and small shop at First Landing, Vuda Point. Almost equidistant between Nadi and Lautoka. 40 minutes by car to Denerau to catch boats to the many islands of Mamanuca or Yawasawa. Staff and service was exceptional. We were provided with cell phone and the response time unbelievable. As and example, on a Sunday morning at 6:00 AM, getting up early to catch an 8 AM boat, the gas ran out resulting in cold showers. We called and the gas was changed within ten minutes. Staff is very friendly, helpful and accomodating, which truly made all the difference, since this was our first time to Fiji.

This Villa is lovely. The infinity pool makes for a lovely setting which has great views out to the ocean. A deep pool for diving into and cooling off - refreshing as water is constantly being turned over. Large deck area with a good sized table to accommodate us 11 ladies staying. Same with the dining room table. Bedrooms were great to share, a suggestion would be a toilet in the laundry area to save people using the ensuite in bedroom and also the lighting in the bathrooms wasn't great for using the mirror. Minor details as this Villa is stunning!! Deck off our room for drying any wet togs/towels was user friendly. Huge kitchen with everything we needed for our 5 night stay. Ants were everywhere but we dealt to them. We had chefs come and cook for us all on our 1st night and wow that was amazing!! Jope - our driver was very funny, very professional and courteous! We had many a laugh with him. The staff were very respectful. We went to the Marina for lunch then live music for the afternoon. Was fabulous and they do takeaway food so you can take back to the Villa and enjoy at your leisure with drinks. This is an easy walk which we did down to the beach from the Villa and then along the railway line and road. You can also call into a couple of resorts if you want to. We picked up supplies on our way to the Villa and Jope took us to the local farmers market for fresh fruit which was amazing. The mud bathing experience was a great delight for all of us and the authentic massage is fantastic. Would highly recommend this Villa especially having Jope on hand for transport. This was very cost efficient with 11 of us. We did run out of Wifi - probably due to all the uploading of our photos. Was sad to leave this amazing place and the people of Fiji.

This place is by far the most beautiful place I have stayed. The first moment we arrived on the property we were blown away by the scenery, the villa and the professionalism of your staff. This only got better the longer we stayed.
Everything you need to make yourself comfortable is in the house; hair dryer, blender, shot glasses - everything you think you may need is all there. The only thing is is that it is quite a while away from shops/places to eat so you will need to be organised and go shopping. They have a driver to drive you anywhere for a flat rate price, they also offer a private chef (which we didn't use).
The staff that work at Sapphire add so much value to the experience: Mrs Va was wonderful and so welcoming, she ensured we were comfortable and made sure we knew to let her know if we needed anything. Jope, the driver, is so professional and courteous at all times. Our boys weren't the most quiet of guests nor did they like to stay in one place for too long but wherever they wanted to go Jope made sure he was there to take them. He is so reliable and made sure we were comfortable also. We really enjoyed our time with Jope, and even his dogs he has on his own property. I will go so far as to say we gave them our own names.
I have been and will continue to be an advocate for Sapphire Bay as it truly is a dream to stay here.

Our family group comprised 7 adults and we spent 8 days at Sapphire Bay in June, to celebrate a significant birthday. On arrival at the airport we were greeted by Jope, who provided our free transfer to the villa and was available to drive us anywhere we needed to go during our stay. While these excursions were chargeable, they were more cost effective than hiring your own van for a group of our size.
We stayed in Villa 2, which was our pick of the 3 villas, offering extensive water views on one side and a large grassed area on the other. The villa is approximately 18 months old comprising 4 bedrooms. Each bedroom has air conditioning. Two bedrooms have a king bed and ensuite with twin basins, shower, separate bath and toilet. The other two rooms each have 2 queen beds and share a third bathroom with a shower, separate toilet and separate vanity.
The living/dining/kitchen area is open plan but has no airconditioning. However we found that we could get a good cross breeze through the area by opening the double front door on one side and the stacking sliders on the deck side. The kitchen is large enough to accommodate multiple people while preparing a meal and is well equipped. There is also a separate laundry with automatic washing machine, dryer and iron, so no problem laundering towels and clothing when needed. The dining room table comfortably accommodates 10 adults and there is a second table of the same size on the external deck, along with 4 deck loungers. The lounge area seats 6 people, but we rarely used this area, as we spent our days and evenings in and around the pool.
The infinity pool is very deep, approximately 6ft and has no railing. While this was fine for an adult group, those travelling with children would have to be watchful. We found the pool to be quite cold, despite having glorious weather during our stay. Perhaps in the hotter summer months you would be grateful for the coolness of the water. Given the plentiful sunshine, perhaps adding solar panels on the roof of the villa could be an option for the future, to take the chill off the water and to help reduce the cost of the airconditioning.
Free wifi is provided, but we found the coverage to be inconsistent, which was frustrating when trying to research and book excursions.
Be sure to pack insect repellant as the sand flys/mosquitoes rule!
We self-catered for the duration of our stay, with the exception of one night when we enjoyed a traditional Fijian feast, prepared by the villa’s staff. A fun night was had by all, with a sharing of the Fijian and Maori cultures.
Whilst the villa is located only 15 mins from Nadi Airport, it is very remote. If you are looking for a place to chill and unwind away from the usual pressures of western life, then this is absolutely the place to stay, and the villa van is always available to transport you when needed.
We would recommend that you do a significant grocery shop on arrival, as you can’t just run down to the local store if you forget something. We found the food selection wasn’t as extensive as we are used to in NZ, and the fruit and vege supply is still recovering from the damage of the recent cyclones. Meals and drinks in restaurants were also expensive.
Whilst the villa is near new and beautifully appointed, there are a few minor things that could be done to improve the experience. For instance, the only mirrors in the villa were above the vanity, so adding a mirror into each bedroom would be beneficial. At nightime, the lighting in the bathrooms was insufficient if you were trying to apply makeup, but could be easily resolved with the addition of a lighted magnifying mirror, which could also be used when shaving. Each bedroom could also benefit from having a more substantial wardrobe option, rather than the rail and open shelf that is provided. The deep lounging bath was a luxury, unfortunately it took 40 mins to fill. All minor points that in no way took away from our enjoyment.
The villa manager, Mrs Va, called by a few times during our stay just to check in and ensure that we had everything we required and the other members of the team were always quick to smile and greet us as we passed them on the property. However it is Jope who most deserves our acknowledgement. In Jope you have a fantastic ambassador for Sapphire Bay. From our observations he worked tirelessly, either leading his team of workers in maintaining the property, or driving us on various excursions, making himself available at any time of day or night. He was professional and respectful at all times, and our family thoroughly enjoyed his company during our stay.
We would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting privacy and time to relax.
