Went to the Lautoka hotel intending to stay there on the 11/12/11/ We were checked into a room that was very dirty the sheets were full of marks the mattress had a hole in that had been very badly patched with a broken mattress protector. The room clearly hadn't been cleaned there were still hairs in the sink the air con wasnt working properly and it smelled. We asked to be moved to another room, the young man on the desk was very rude but did agree to move us however the next room was no better so we decided to move on. The man that was dealing us was extremely rude and refused to give us our money back tutting and muttering and being generally unpleasant. We had to threaten to call the police to get our money back. The attitude of the staff was disgusting especially considering the poor state of the rooms.

We had booked our accomodation 5 days prior to our planned 1 night stay at the hotel. When we checked in we were told our room would be upstairs and not at the pool-side as we had arranged and which the customer attendant had agreed with us over the phone 5 days earlier. They told us that a certain organization had booked earlier and so they got the Poolside rooms. Well the attendant certainly did not tell us that in our tele-convo when we made our booking.

The short plumpy Indian lady was really rude and the last thing she should have said was "You can go check out the room, if you don't like it, then we'll refund your money". And we thought they need to exhaust all avenues before reaching that point. We were travelling as a family so we requested if there could be extra matresses. The attendants were aghasted when they saw our 2 teenage children saying they were in the adult category. We had clearly explained on the phone that the children were in their teens, however the attendant failed to inform us that they were regarded as adults.

I would say the amenities were good and certain staffs were really friendly, but poor service from that one staff. I had a similar experience in 2013 (stayed for 3 nights) when another hotel staff on night shift RUDELY approached family members who helped me to my room with some stuffs. Hotel staffs including that short plumpy Indian lady really need to attend CUSTOMER SERVICE courses or maybe need a refresher! Need to learn how to simply put on a smile!

The location of the place is great as there are not many hotels located in the city. Rooms were okay but smelt of smoke. Bathroom had a foul smell as well. Restaurant was average and i would prefer eating out as there are many good eating options in Lautoka.

My husband and i booked in Lautoka hotel. We met the most pathetic receptionist At our check in. This girl at the reception had no idea what she was doing and had a very unfriendly nature. As we entered the room we found cockroaches running all over the place, the linen on the bed looked dirty, bath towels really had bad odour, musty smell in the room, bathrooms had moulds on walls on floor and toilet looked like it has not been cleaned for ages.we requested for a room change with the same receptionist and shared looking at our situation. She called the security to show us our new room. Wait i am amused they don't have porters.we were ready to go into new room then all off sudden the security and the receptionist started to fuss that they will not give us a new room as there is nothing wrong with the one that they had given us initially. Receptionist came up with one more reasons that all rooms were booked out, i asked to see their duty manager and was unsuccessful as he was not on property. We said that we will wait for duty managers arrival.we waited for an hour and decided to leave for a refund and leave. Receptionist fussed over refunding our money and we had to spend our night at a place wea we were not happy!

After a noisy first night (due to the hotel nightclub and early morning buses on Naviti Street), as well as a small cockroach problem, we asked to be moved from the streetside Deluxe Room to one across the pool. We spent a further 6 nights in comfort. Likes: pool outlook, comfortable mattress, daily maid service, bar fridge, tea/coffee facilities, security guard, Ateca's Travel Services in the reception area, Seaview Restaurant within hotel complex, efficient internet booking service, air conditioning, TV. Dislikes: stroppy service at reception desk when we asked to be moved, nightclub noise on Friday and Saturday nights. Overall, I would recommend Lautoka Hotel for the budget-conscious, due to its convenient location and pleasant pool outlook. There are other reputable hotels in town, but I cannot comment on how they would compare. I would consider staying at the Lautoka Hotel again in future.

When I entered the room, there were no towels. When I decided to take a shower before retiring for the evening, there was no hot water. A manager stated that the next day he would move me to a room that had hot water.

After moving to a different room (from 315 to 318), the next day I found that one of the cups had lipstick on it whereupon I decided to shift to a different hotel. The management did apologize and fully refunded the amount I had paid for the next few days. Also, in eating three meals in the hotel restaurant, I saw cockroaches each time. The matter has been reported to the Fiji Times and health department.

Of course it is possible that management has by not corrected the problems, but I suggest caution.

We did not stay here, just had a quick lunch. The service was okay as was the food. We had a chicken fried rice and beef with cashews, large plateful and reasonably tasty. Food was cheap but not sure if we would return

We arrived at Lautoka Hotel on the night of 22 Feb just 2 days after the Monster hurricane Winston aftermath. I had picked this hotel as it was highly recommended by my Mrs. Well on our way to Lautoka Hotel our reservation was done by phone which was confirmed to us.
We arrived at the hotel only to be told that there is no room left at 12 midnight. I was approached by a rude receptionist which I forgot his name. He seems to be bossy and when I had asked the number for the Manager he refused to give it to us.
I managed to get the number from the security outside and by the hospitality from their GM we managed to check in that night.
I have also managed few resorts down the Nadi corridor, Mamanucas, Yasawas and now at the Coast and have never come across with a rude, pathetic and simply I would give him a rate of negative 1 not even a zero. Staff needs constant training to keep in par with other resort levels.
The next day I walked into their GM's office and discuss about his attitude. My advice to the Manager. If you want more returnee guests, your reception staff would be your key role.
Thanks...

I called and booked a Standard room. Upon making the booking I clearly mentioned Room 200. Upon Check-in i m given room 206 and i asked the front desk why i m given room 206 key when i made a booking in Room 200.

The Fijian boy at the front desk who made my booking was doing that shift and he mention that he booked room 200 for me but by looking at the system, he found out that Priya has changed my reservation.

I was at the counter and the front desk called Priya to check why she moved the booking and he gave the phone to me. I asked Priya why she moved my booking when i confirmed that i will be coming around 3.00pm. Without taking a second she said that i did not request for room 200 but the guy said that i requested that him.

She(Priya) did not even attempt to take her mistake and say Sorry. In the morning upon check-out I saw Priya laughing and acting smart as if she has done something good. Hello we pay for the room from where you get your pay so learn how to respect your guest.

Please double check when you making the booking if you are given right room you request.

Sorry forgot that Fijian Boys name, heads up to you as you know how to handle the guest
