The staff was very friendly but the rooms were quite dirty, the pool was seemingly closed (had caution tape around it), and some advertised amenities were not available (spa). We left after one night and tried and failed to get a refund for the rest of our stay. It seems like this place used to be great, but must have fallen into a serious state of disrepair during the pandemic. For the price being charged, you'd at least expect non-stained sheets and hot water showers.

A picture tells a thousand words. If you are happy to stay here you are welcome. We left after one night. Management and owner would not speak to us about the issues so have effectively taken our $1140 AUD and provided nothing.

Wow, this place is a slice of paradise. Your own private island, only 12 other bure’s on it, so you feel secluded. We have a 5 star mega resort booked for the last few days, but the family doesn’t want to leave. They have a huge water park, non motorized sports, breakfast, a pool, bouncy castle, pool table, foosball, air hockey and more all for free. Free transfers to the mainland for free that runs 24hrs. Everyone was so friendly and went out of their way. They brought us wifi in our room, fixed my wife’s shoes, and took us on a free sunset cruise. Owner is a gem and really cares for his guests. Staff work hard to clean the beach from garbage from mainland and it’s clean and ready by about 9am every morning. Late night swimming allowed. Amazing food and drinks, especially the pizza. Do yourself a favour and stay here. Saves you $600-800 from visiting a private island for a day tour, might as well stay on a private island for the same price.

We had the good fortune to stay at this delightful Fijian owned resort on Bekana island for 16 nights in Feb.2023. Because it was the low season, it was very quiet so we received undivided attention and were treated like royalty. We didn’t mind the warm rain as it beat the Canadian winter. On rainy days we relaxed in the reception area perused the internet, played cards, learned how to play pool and showed the staff how to play table tennis. Because it was warm we could still kayak,go snorkelling and use the pool. The pool was small but big enough to aquasize. We stayed in a clean ocean front bure and were thankful for the AC. The groundskeeper worked so hard to keep our beach clean of debris that was frequently washed up from Lautoka. The resort was frequented by day trippers but they posed no problem to us who were staying long term. The staff worked so hard to make sure we were comfortable and even prepared a beautiful Birthday cake for my husband and surprised him with a special Birthday celebration. It was very touching. Thank you Joey! Va was always available to help us with excursions and was very professional. She arranged transport for us using a reliable taxi service. Our driver Krish was so polite and a wealth of knowledge. We felt so safe in his car as he was a courteous and careful driver having been a driving instructor for 38 years. Louisa took us to her church in the mountains so we could listen to the beautiful choir one Sunday. Such a unique experience most tourists don’t get to enjoy. Kartika prepared the most delicious breakfasts for us with an Indian flare. We appreciated that as we are not used to just having sweet cakes for breakfast which seems to be the norm in Fiji. The fish and chips were a favourite for us and the stir fry’s. The pizza was very large but would prefer that ketchup be kept off it. The drinks the bartender made looked delicious but we only had the buckets of beer.Somedays we went across the water on the skiff for dinner elsewhere but always felt bad for leaving our “ home” on Bekana island. The skiff was available most times but if you came back later at night it wasn’t always easy to contact the island for a ride back. Not fun if the mosquitoes were hungry as we waited on the pier. The grounds around the resort were lovely and in the morning we were sometimes visited by a few chickens or goats who were curious and a resident cat. At night the frogs went a hopping! One day we had the opportunity to go to one of the outer islands for half a day. We picnicked, explored the island and snorkelled. It was a wonderful day with great weather and clear water. When it came time to leave, all the day staff were there to sing us a farewell song. We all felt very emotional as we felt we were leaving family. We were so fortunate to be off the beaten track and experience what the real Fiji is all about. We wish the resort good luck on the new addition of their water park ( largest in Fji) Vinaka, Belo Vula!

We arranged a little boat to get us there to spend the day coming from a cruise. The pool and beach are both very well taken care of and relaxing. Try the fish and the fresh coconut. Friendly staff and reasonable prices.

My family and I chose Belo Vula for our one week holiday in Fiji after reading the excellent reviews from other visitors. We were not disappointed. We chose 2 beachfront Bures for the 5 of us and found that the rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The island is like a piece of paradise and is relaxing while offering plenty to do and see. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. The owner, Andrew, was always ready to listen and help, even giving us his own snorkle and goggles to use. The food and drinks were delicious with the chef happy to include additional vegetables from the local market and make superb smoothies from the fruit we bought. The coconut tree climbing and basket weaving class out on the grass is an amazing experience. And of course the Fijian music is superb. The spontaneous singing and guitar playing adds to relaxed atmosphere each day and the farewell songs at the end of our visit were beautiful. Best of all kayaks, snorkles, goggles and life jackets are all free and are in good condition. Snorkling is great in front of the resort and even better if you kayak to the nearbye light beakon off the island. The only problem is the amount of litter and sediment washing up from the mainland. However, the staff work hard to clean the beaches each morning and the coral is recovering. Actually the coral is better and more varied than what we saw at the outer Mana Island on a day trip we took during our stay and other guests said the same about the other islands. The fish are abundant and colourful with most of the main species including butterfly, angel, banner, parrot, surgeon, wrasse and even some anemone fish present as well as sting rays, moray eels, sea cucumbers and cowries. The other guests were lovely and friendly and we made a lot of new friends. A special thank you to the team including Andrew, Va, Atu, Remi, Joely, Matthew, Pana, Catika, Ashnita, Rina, Anna, Lila, Lika, La, Tom, Jack, Sam, Dan, Pana (the singer), Doki, Abas and everyone else for making our stay comfortable, interesting and enjoyable. We hope to seev you all again.

This is just wonderful...and you know it from the moment you step off the boat. My husband and i only wish we had booked for longer. In a short five minutes you're whisked from the hustle and bustle of Lautoka to what is literally a slice of paradise. A tiny island resort with a stretch of white sand and a big heart. The welcome is warm and genuine - as is the whole experience. The meals are generous, fresh and tasty (the breakfast fried bread!). The bule are large and comfortable. The beach is at your doorstep. The sea is calm, the kayaks free to use (we were out and about each and every day). Theres a nice wee pool and deck area. The bar does wonderful cocktails and the barstaff are friendly. When we visited in the low season there were only a handful of overnight visitors, so we felt special as if this was our very own island for a few short days. By the time we got a personal farewell song from Atu and his staff we were in love with Belo Vula and its charming laidback style. Would recommend for its accessibility, covenience, friendly people and super-relaxed atmosphere.

This was an overnight layover to New Zealand, but I wish we'd stayed longer. Perfect quiet little island with beach front bungalows. Open air reception and restaurant. Pool, kayaks, more. Every single person was so friendly and kind, starting with their driver Krish who got us at the airport and brought us back the next day, reception with drinks, restaurant service, sports equipment, and most importantly, the manager who checked up on us the next morning when we were supposed to catch their boat for our next flight! (I misjudged the time zone difference by not accounting for daylight savings.). They had some early morning breakfast for us, the boat driver was there, and Krish on the mainland waiting for us, while we were off by an hour, and the sweet manager came knocking at our bungalow to make sure we were up, such kindness! I'll never forget everyone's kindness here. Someday I'll return with my husband and stay here the whole time. Thank you all so so much!

We stayed here for a couple of weeks....and were not disappointed with our choice. We had the most relaxing holiday. The Management and staff were so friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us - wonderful people! We really felt Belo Vula was our home away from home. Bekana Island is small and quite unique very handy to Lautoka and Nadi airport. Thanks guys...we miss you already..
