Hotel looks nice outside and inside, with a couple of shops around, also mcdonalds and pharmacy. I've been to a room of type "comfort", so there were a big bed, fridge, TV and the main advantage - own balcony with the view of the pool. Rooms got cleaned once a day, and everytime after cleaning you'll see unique figure made of towels. There are three pools of medium size with sun longers near them. Meals three times a day, beer and coctails are free, except for import beer and drinks. Food is not the best, but pretty good. Hotel is not near the Red sea, it takes around 10 minutes to get to the beach by yourself, also there is a free transfer to the beach several times a day. Sand on the beach is not very clean, sun loungers are wooden and old, some of them are almost broken, and the beach itself is not big, so often it's a bit tough to find a place in the shadows. But the sea is clean and warm, and it is overbearing everything. If you are interested in such things, there is a party of animators making different activities every evening after dinner. General impression is good.

The hotel is really relaxing, the rooms are beautiful
I stayed in a poolside one on the first floor where it had a red sofa and it was so lovely and traditional Egyptian. I loved to relax here at night.

The beds are comfortable and the room was kept clean. The shower head needed replacing so I asked the reception to send someone and they changed it for me straight away and put a new one on. The water was hot in the room and I liked the shower and bathroom.I asked for fresh towels because I did not want to take apart my elephant on the bed that the staff made for me and got given extra ones.

there was a choice of three pools ranging from warm to cold. The food was really good at the hotel I loved it more than at the one I stayed at before this.

The animation team were great, really helpful and friendly. More chilled than at some of the other hotels I have been at. They offered stretching yoga and watersports and there were shows on at night, there was another area you can sit outside away from the noisier shows if you like the quiet. There was music and it was kept to a good level at sociable hours so you could sleep. They kept it quiet at other times to respect guests.

There was a gift shop and his prices were very good compared to other stores, the first person who made his prices a lot cheaper than some of the other places I have been to.

The location is near naama bay and it’s a walk away or can get a taxi or the cheap bus.

I really love the antique furniture here and the hotel staff were so helpful when I arrived!

I went with all inclusive as it was very worth it compared to other hotels and their prices.

I will return again!

Oriental Rivoli
March 27 to 10th April 2022

Lets start by saying, the staff here are fantastic, such lovely, friendly and nice people. This is in no way disrespectful to them. It is just my honest opinion of the hotel, facilities and services.

I booked and stayed at the last minute at Oriental Rivoli, a confusing hotel to say the least. The name I think mean Oriental Dove but the style is very much Baroque just quite tired and dated.

Staying in room 2263, one of the furthest rooms away from reception, restaurant and bar, I didn't mind. It had a nice little balcony, 2 single beds a tv and a small fridge. He fridge sadly smelt very bad as though it hadn't been opened in weeks. The walls were marked and stained and could do with freshening up. Thee décor again in the Baroque style was just harbouring dust and mosquito's.

The worst thing about room 2263, the daily gauntlet avoiding pigeons or their business. The open corridor to the door was home to a number of pigeons, they either dive bombed you as you walked or you had to avoid their business on the floor.

I was unwell whilst in Egypt, a very bad chest, I even ended up in Hospital for a couple of days. I truly believe this was at least in part caused by the pigeons being near the air con air intake or their droppings and nests being in close proximity to my room.

There are 3 pools, 1 “heated” and 2 normal, all are fresh water which is a nice change to the chlorinated ones. All pretty clean and netted daily, sun loungers were somewhat tiered, dirty and dusty. The floor was often very dusty, a victim of the area I guess, but could be helped with brushing down with water daily.

Martini bar was always empty so I never frequented the place (it was also not part of the All inc).
Pool Bar of which there is only 1 was in the most inconvenient place possible. They served drinks in paper coffee cups of around 200ml, which is very annoying and difficult to get a proper drink without the longer than necessary walk back to the bar. Drinks also not displayed and are served “under the counter”, not sure if this is religious regions or to not advertise what they have on offer.

Food… now I am sure the chefs work very hard with what they have, but I must say the food is terrible. Often over salted mush with little else for flavour to speak about. I ate out or skipped meals most of the time instead of facing the hotel food.

Area wise, the Oriental Rivoli is kind of on a small shopping arcade, most of which is empty/abandoned. Not just closed because it is early season, it is closed. I think Sharm el Sheikh suffered tremendously from not only Covid Lockdowns and lack of tourists but also lack of British and Russian and now Ukrainian tourists over the last 6 years or so, many places you see in Sharm are looking very abandoned.

Highly recommend this hotel, has everything you need. Overall very welcoming atmosphere and staff, who try their best to provide you with an amazing service. Special thank you to Mohammed, our room cleaner, who was most welcoming to our stay.

Food 7/10
We booked half board. They had a variety of options for both breakfast and dinner. Whilst we didn't like everything on the menu, there was always different options to try every day. We found some of the food delicious and catered to our taste however some things were slightly bland.

Cleanliness 7/10
As clean as you could expect for a very large hotel. Our rooms were cleaned exceptionally well every day, given new towels and water and a beautiful towel display by Mohammed. Around the hotel there was dust build up in a few places, but nothing of substantial concern. All main areas such as dining, pool side and rooms were very clean. The room floors did need more of a mop, not surprising as the rooms lead directly outside. Would recommend taking flip flops for inside the room!

Entertainment 10/10
The hotel has entertainment every night, we were lucky to see belly dancers, fire show etc, shows which we would have happily paid for. In the day time there was also afro and a lady (unfortunately can't remember her name) who were full of energy looking after the guests. My 2 year old son loved them. There is also 3 pools (including a heated one). Also a section of smaller depth 80m for children.

Reception and room service 9/10
Explained everything as best as they could, helped us with our bags to our room. As we arrived very late due to flight delays, they had dinner sent to our room which was a lovely touch. The only issue was communication, they don't speak very well English however they do try their best to communicate with you as well as they can.

Location 10/10
Absolutely loved the location. The beach reserved for the hotel (delta beach which is on naama bay) is only a short walk down, and they have a free shuttle service which takes you there and back at scheduled times. There was also a McDonald's, supermarket and pharmacy right next door. There is an excursion shop right next to the hotel. Mehdi from the shop was superb in finding us a good deal where we could book more than one excursion. He offers really great prices in comparison to others. Taxis as well as minibuses do stop right outside the hotel. The minibuses do try to charge more than they should, however you can barter with them to get around 5/10 egyption pounds per person. It is much cheaper than the taxis which charge around 150 egyption pounds. Soho square/Old market/Al-Mustafa mosque and dolphina Park are only about a 15 minute journey away by car/bus.

This hotel was excellent, the staff were amazing. Our room was a twin room, cleaned every day with clean sheets, it was always left spotless for us to come back too every day. We had Adam a pool boy who was so extremely helpful every day, he would put our towels on sun beds for us as we were a party of 6 and we would be down by the pool by 8, we found this refreshing. He was so helpful, got our laundry cleaned and ironed, this was a very cheap service. Ahmed who is bar staff by the pool was excellent and amazing, felt he went above and beyond his duties for us. He was so polite and helpful at all times while on duty, he was funny and is a great person, h made out holiday.
The only downside was the food, as they do not cater for the western side of the world, there was not a lot of choice except chicken and salad for both lunch and dinner, being there for 14 days, having the same food each day was a little tedious, But saying that we found all staff to be friendly, polite and nothing asked was too big. I would recommend this hotel and staff and I will go back again. It was just wonderful, you can cope with the food, if your holiday is a great experience.

Sadly this hotel didn’t live up to expectations. Marketing photos need updating as they are out of date.
No Shisha lounge
Only 1 restaurant
Rooms tired, shabby and dirty looking
Sunloungers have no mattresses and are mostly broken, some with wire between the legs to stop them splaying out
No ‘grass’ under sunloungers as shown which leads to VERY slippery tiles underfoot.
Two patio chairs on our balcony literally were falling apart with nails sticking out. We removed them and took two chairs from the martini bar terrace. We were told we couldn’t do that and we said we’d return them when our chairs were replaced….10 days on we still had them….
Food was only passable. I like trying different foods but it was mostly the same every day
God forbid you ask for butter for your bread or rolls…took an age to get any and then most of the time it was frozen, very irritating.
LOVELY omelettes cooked to order at breakfast and also barbecued chicken some evenings and great pasta.
Evening shows were fun!
All inclusive was far too expensive for what you got. Wine was terrible, beer was ok but nothing ‘hit the spot’ I can only surmise why this was…… all drinks served in child sized flimsy plastic cups!
Internet was non existent, they explained their cable had been cut from works outside the hotel….
We made the best of it but did leave disappointed after waiting so long for this holiday.

We stayed at the hotel for one week and had a really nice time there! The hotel is not very big so it has a nice and cozy vibe, all the people working there really put in the effort to help and be kind to us every way possible. Special thank you to the animation team who were entertaining and giving attention and offering smiles and jokes at all times of the day, beautiful people!!
The food is good but sometimes not labelled perfect so it is difficult to understand what is what and since the visitors cannot fill their plate themselves (maybe just coronatimes) it can be confusing. There are three pools and a special hint for people afraid of cold water: the one in the back is warm! The beach is very near (just cross the street and there is way in from the left side, also there is some ticket system, take a paper from the reception) you can walk from beach to beach in the waterline.
The wifi is terrible so if you need a time off the internet it is perfect :D also you can buy a card or smth at the local gift shop that has the coolest owner, have some tea and a chat if you need to get away from the sun!
Thank you for a beautiful stay!

Already booked to go back again in September after spending 10 days at Oriental in May, that's how welcome we felt!
We all had such fun, all the staff are so attentive and could not do enough to ensure that everyone is well looked after and enjoying their time. Our room was directly in front of 1 of 3 pools which we used everyday and we met lots of lovely people ❤️
The reception team always welcome you with smiling faces, good conversations and the reassurance that every need will be met, the rooms are cleaned daily and the is a vast variety of food for all meals, not to mention the evening entertainment and the animation team which are spectacular.
I genuinely had a great time and look forward to seeing everyone again.
The hotel is in a great location for many different experiences depending what your into.

A special thanks to all in the animation team who made our days and nights fun and unforgettable - Muhammed, Karim, Anna, and Felix x
A special thanks to Mahmoud at the bar who always welcomed us with such kindness x
A special thanks to Ali and all the chefs x
A special thanks to the security who ensured we got back safely x
And last but not least a special thanks to all the reception team who are amazing, especially Mohammed ( good luck at uni) and Mustafa x

Will see you in September for my birthday 🎂 🥳
Lots of Love Zoe and Amiyah xx

Food ,its a shame as the staff were very attentive ,but the system to feed the many guests just doesnt work,You get your hot/luke warm food served first then stand in a queue to get puddings and salad whilst your food gets colder. Why no microwave ? an essential for the people who cant stand cold food.In the main the food was good though, although was not great for British guests ,no butter ,ketchup provided without asking.
Pool area good but noisy around the pool we used, as the chairs of the restaraunt got dragged around and with no rubber feet sounded like nails on a blackboard.Hotel also on a flight path but the chairs were way worse .
Rooms ok but need a refresh in areas our room had a horrid peeling shower screen and filthy closures on the doors.Very little daylight in the cheaper rooms with only two small windows.
Beach was frankly terrible ,very narrow and shared with another hotel sunbeds packed together with no space between and many filthy stained padded covers and debris in the sand
Entertainment was good ,fire dancers being the most memorable but they could try a change of cd as it looped all day every day.
Drinks were served in the tiniest plastic cups available and hard to carry as so flimsy .To get a pint you probably needed 6 or7 trips to the bar which was situated in an awkward place the other side of the pool. and no table service so let your meal stand whilst making the voyage around the pool. You couldnt get wine even two miniuts before the restaraunt opened but the bar would stop serving well before ten o clock .This is early anyway in my opinion and on many occasions the central bar was totally unmanned. No hot drinks or anything other than cold water after the 10 oclock curfew.
Staff. Were in the main very good and did what they could to assist with your needs.
In summary i made the best of it and enjoyed the sun and made the best of the hotel but my fellow travellers did not enjoy it and none of us would book again .
