Chosen this hotel as plenty going on in the day , streaching , volly ball , darts aqua arobics , latin dance or zumba , yoga .I even was brave enough to go down a slide at 60 years . The tube one that opens up beneath your feet was a no no , there is a 136kg weight limit , they must be mad . Rooms huge but could be cleaner too much time spent messing with towels ,free safe in walk in wardrobe , free wifi in reception and you may be lucky in lime bar , free large water in room but not always with a seal , free small water with seal available 24hours from reception bar . Try the sweshrama at dinner time on kebab island , drinks free as long as you say just the all inclusive , bottled beer payable , Mediterranean is grat for breakfast they come round with fresh orange it will then cost you 2.5 euros other juices inside free

We had a wonderful vacation in this location. The rooms are very large and comfortable. The food was very good, even if you are pretentious you still find something to eat. For breakfast you can choose from many varieties of eggs, pancakes, croissants, donuts, cereals, cheese, sausages, fruits. You still find something to eat. At dinner, we especially liked the Fino restaurant, where we ate very tasty beef. But we also ate well at Sand and Tropical. The Italian restaurant was not to our taste. We also liked the Mexican restaurant for the atmosphere. We ate a lot of fish, beef, lamb, squid. There are plenty of pools and sunbeds everywhere. There are also bars and terraces to choose from. The animation team is very good, they try to make you feel comfortable and offer you advice if you need it. Hima told us what cream to take for sunburn. By the way, if you burn in the sun, you need Betaderm, it costs 6 dolars at the resort pharmacy and soothes your burns in 2 hours. The strong point of this resort is in our opinion the beach, which has a smooth entrance. For comfort we wore slippers. A short distance from the shore is the coral reef, where you can snorkel. My husband and I learned to swim with a snorkeling mask, and the experience was magnificent. I saw a wide variety of fish of all colors and sizes. The water was very good, warm and clean. On the beach you are often approached by those who offer you massage, photos, etc. if you firmly reject them, they are not insistent. We recommend that you use the do not disturb button. If you do not use it, hotel employees will enter the room to ask if everything is ok or to change your beach towels, etc. Towels both in the room and on the beach are changed daily. You've probably heard that you have to tip. We tipped a few waiters, the one who cleaned our room and the boys on the beach. I really felt it was worth giving them. Where we did not tip, we were not treated differently.
There are no prices in stores, you have to ask the price and negotiate, it is not very comfortable for those unfamiliar with it.

We had booked to stay at the Grand Makadi Hotel but this turned out to be a poor choice, as the hotel is run down and unsuitable for families with young children (see separate review). We made a complaint and were given wristbands so we could use the facilities at the Sunwing. It is no exaggeration that this completely transformed our holiday and we had a fantastic 11 days here. In future we would probably book to stay at this hotel as other guests said that their rooms were nice.
The hotel has 3 buffet restaurants – Sun, Sand and and Sea. All offer exactly the same food - we found that the Sea buffet was less crowded and more chilled out. There was a nice seating area outside at the back. Great choice for breakfast – cereal, fruit, yogurt, pancakes, omelettes and other hot food. Fresh juice was available for an extra 2.5 Euros. We are vegetarian/vegan and on most days there was a good choice of dishes for lunch and dinner plus great salads and lovely cakes. There was a pizza oven outside and the chef would make a pizza especially for our son. The Africa bar near the beach did wraps and chips for lunch and had a nice relaxed atmosphere. We had dinner at La Terraza Italian restaurant on the beach 3 times. Decent bottle of wine was £10 and the food was tasty, with tables overlooking the sea. The staff there really looked after us. There was also a Sweet bar with pancakes, ice cream, waffles etc.
The waterpark was great fun. It is split into 2 areas – the splash park which has slides etc for children and 4 bigger slides and Lazy River (plus the Aqua Loop for those who are brave enough!) 2 of the swimming pools are heated in the winter. The public areas and toilets are kept very clean.
The beach was really beautiful – clean, gently sloping and sandy and the sea was warm. Lots of sunbeds and umbrellas available. The snorkelling is excellent – the coral areas are roped off so it is very safe. Saw lots of fish and a stingray!
Evening entertainment was not bad – mini disco for the children followed by some sort of show or quiz. There was also a guitarist and violinist playing at various times.
The staff here are really friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Mohammed Ali at the Africa bar, Tareg our waiter in the Sea buffet, Hany the Head Chef at the Sweet bar and Ali who looked after us at the Splash Park. My son tripped over and hurt himself at the beach and the lifeguard and first aider who helped us were absolutely brilliant.
The only real drawback I can think of is hassle from people trying to sell you massages, beauty treatments, jeep safaris and photo sessions. One morning I was asked 8 times if I wanted a massage! This did seem to lessen in the second week so I wonder if people had complained.
I would definitely go back to this hotel and would recommend for families.

I have been waiting for new blankets for my kids for 5 hours. So I have decided to write this. They gave us materaces instead of blankets so I asked for normal blankets cause you cannot use 90 cm wide materac to cover your child during the night when it is 10°C. And they simply don't react on it. Noone came. I called 3 times and went to the reception and nothing changes. Still no blankets. At Jazz hotels I would have new blankets within 5 mins. And here you have to wait for hours. Food is awful. Seriously, we come to Egypt at least 3 times per year and such an awful food I've never had. There are no fruits but oranges and melons. And melons are not eatable. Where is guava? Strawberries? Anything? The hotel is nice because of the aquapark, but the water is cold. They heat it up to 25 °C and thats it. And big one is very cold. Our kids got sick because the water is cold. Other hotels have at least 28-29°C pools and we never had these problems before. So the hotel is nice because of the builting and area and palms, but rest of the things is not that good. Oh, while I am writing there came a man and said that they don't have blankets :-) very good to know that 5 star hotel doesn't have blankets. So people bring blankets with you when you come to this hotel in winter ;-) and we have an expencive family room with a big terrace. Also AC is so loud and unfortunately its cold in the night so we have to heat the room and it has to work

Arrived at this hotel on nye. On arrival asked for 2 set of keys to room as I had a 6month old baby and 6yr old girl so knew we would be constantly in and out of room for the duration of stay, rudely told "One room, one key" by the guy that checked us in. Didnt wana argue just wanted to get into room.
Once we got into room, everything looked nice.
Now onto the best part, after a full day travelling thougt id quickly freshen up and have a quick shower only to realise when ive got into shower to find long womens hair and pubic hair all over the four walls of the shower room.
Utterly disguisting experience.
First night at buffet the food was very cold. The food did get better as the week progressed. But me and my partner did suffer diarrohea and food poisining.
The staff are the reason why they got 2 stars and not 1 from me, very pleasent and always on hand.apart from the guys at the front desk, they were useless.
Ive travelled all around the world any every 5 star hotel ive been to to date all have a kettle and iron in room. We had a baby with us so babies constantly need feeding milk,so asked for a kettle to be told all are out, then asked again to be told will get one 2 you soon,repeatdly told u shall get 1.by day 3 told if u want a kettle it would be 35 euros. So just kept ringing room service for warm water.this was a real headache as some days after about 9 o clock they wouldnt answer the phone. And they would take upto 30mins sometimes to bring the hot water for my child.
All inclusive should be all inclusive..i can understand certain items such as steaks/lobster be a charge for, but every restaurant u go to in this resort more items are extra charge than the things you are entitled to if your all inclusive, which is a big let down.

so I will start from arrival on checking there was no cards so they opened our room and we had to go again later to get room opened the rooms are of a very good size with walkin wardrobe but there are no plugs near any mirrors so ladies can Straighten their hair even though you won't be able to see what you are doing due to very very poor lighting in the rooms the towels are from the 70's old as houses not what I would expect for 1 a 5* hotel and also being in Egypt. The actual setting of the hotel is very nice but adults were playing around in the children's slides which was ignored by the lifeguard and the spray guns didn't work. onto food the AI restaurant was rubbish but the other restaurants around the resort were not much all they wanted to do was sell more food to what I presume make a percentage from extra sales. found in the tropical restaurant they recommend a alcoholic drink for kids!!!! (hopefully menu will get updated) the staff were always asking customers to change their coins which I understand why but why can't the hotel put something in place to make it easier for the staff. you feel very safe and secure but I just feel it's like its profit over people like every company do. we will not return to this hotel or any of the group as I find they just push sales

PRO: Very large resort, green and exotic surroundings, with a lot of facilities. Well maintained gardens, very clean beach and water Not so crowdy, lot of spaces on restaurants and terraces Friendly stuff, both on reception and on the restaurants, all of them wearing masks. The sea is just amazing, the coral reef is just a swim away, amazing sea life. I would suggest using the bridge on Palace, a lot to see over there. As is one big complex consisted of 4 hotels, you can used the facilities from the other resorts (Spa, Palace, Grand) but unfortunately they were closed due to small number of tourists The food was good, but not vary, I can understand the limitation due to the small number of tourists, but more fruits and vegetable could be arranged. We could use all the a-la-carte restaurants without any problem Very big room (apartment) with a large terrace.
Cons: I would suggest the management to pay more attention to the cleaning, inside and outside, is a pity to see dirty bathroom, dirty tables, dirty uniform on the waiters. The snacks/fruits between meals were totally missing (except crepes and sometimes ice-cream) Usually in the evening the wine was not longer available Internet/wifi is a disaster, only available in the lobby, but every evening it was a "technical problem" and couldn't connect. Not all the waterpark facilities / big slides were working NONE of the pool could be used, it was freezing, even on the website was stated one should be heated. Luckily the sea water was warm enough. It is mandatory though to have a heated pool from the many available on the resort. The guys on the beach are very, very annoying selling you all kind of services. Even you don't pay attention to them, they insist even more. The plus was we finally got very good prices ;)

We came for xmas holiday seadon family trip 26.01.2019. Services of hotel are over our expectations. Everything from variety of great ala Carte restaurants to housemaids extra effort to cheer our kids with towel animals waiting on our bed after cleaning. Hospitality was overhelming. Ability to use flow rider surf machine at daily basis made even me overweight 40yr old fatty feel like Kelly Slater. As active diver and snorkeling lover it was pleasant surprise to realise well care taked natural state "house reef" just 20-30 meters from hotels beach shore. Reef is still full of huge variety of marine life from huge Murray's to giant sea turtles. That's something to experiment even you are not active diver/snorkler. We will definitely come back to seek what we didn't find there at this trip. The hotel itself is amazing The junior suite was huge .I was cleaned daily but everytime we went up to the room cleaner appwared saying finished asking for cash. I swapped some coins for notes for another cleaner and tgen got daikt knocks in the door wanting to change coins for notes.
Loved the pools and slides, plenty sunbeds. We were though fequently bothered by people selling massages, photos and beauty. Someone at the airport said you coukd put up a red flag if you didn't want to be disturbed at their hotel. This woukd have been fabulous. However in a week i only got the waiter once asking if i wanted a drink.
However the al la carte restaurants had dar superior food but the menus only had a few options on the all inclusive plan. The food at the golden dragon was amazing but litterally a choice of a chicken or beef dish vey similar for Tam Tams the German restaurant had more choice. You paid for drinks in a la carte for example one large bottle of warer, one none alchoic and one alchoholic cocktail cost £10. The steak restaurant hasno all inclusive meals I must add the waiter in the German restaurant was so funny, really entertained my son.
We were frequently been tried to upsell entertainment. We went to African dancers and light show on the beach.. it was no more special than general entertainment i had gotbfor free at a standard hotel. We declined an £18 night each which included a bbq.
The shops were very frustrating.. Nothing had a price and you constantly had to ask the price of everything. It was so random . My son could walk round the shops but he couldn't belive the difference how it was when i walked round. The bag shop near Tum Tums and bracelt guy on beach were the worst.. It felt like harrasment .
We went on a coulle of trips to Lyxor and orange bay.. Both were absolutel amazing.
Would i recommend the hotel.No because it didn't feel all inclusive. And i didn't feel treated 5 star.

The hotel has large rooms otherwise outdates, this is not all inclusive, everything for an extra charge, wifi is not working, employees dont speak English, not nice in the main restaurant you must wait for the plates too long, when you mention them thay laugh, the tables are dirty, the staff would rather go past then clear the tables, you complain to the PR and nothing happens, for the boiled eggs must stand in the same line for the baked eggs, slides are open only one hour a day 15-16h.The answers are always the same, come later, not working at the moment,run out... You can't take a drink out of the lobby, reception is a disaster as if we suprised them unexpectedly, noth worth 5 stars only. I am 2 times a year in Egypt such a disaappointment and disrespect I have never experienced But I must to commend very friendly bartednder in the beach

Hi, outside of the hotel is a little shopping mall.There aren't that many shops, but they sell self-made bracelets and that kind of stuff.There also is a pharmacy.
