The room is good, including the bed. Adequate parking and good location for the hotel. Nice front desk staff too. The only complaint I have is that they were completely out of water. I had to go to the hotel next door to buy water. Would've left 5 stars if it wasn't for the water. They shouldn't be charging 4$ for a Gatorade when they are out of water. The hotel next door charged 2$ for a water which isn't bad.

Nice proximity from airport with free parking, friendly staff. Breakfast limited options. Rooms could take some renovations. Only TV is up to date but other features could get upgrades.
Toilet got clogged as water pressure was weak. Called in and immediately staff got us a plunger. Good fir the price.

We stayed here three night before or cruise. It's pretty close to Cape Liberty port, so that was nice. Positives were: it had vacancy, staff was friendly and helpful, clean rooms and pretty good breakfast. Negatives were: extremely soft double bed mattresses, no extra pillows available, slow jerky elevators, on a busy/high traffic road.

One of my worst experiences with the Marriot group.

Confusion , deliberate misdirection and play of words while booking. We clearly needed a 2-bed room, couldn’t have been clearer because I “know” I have 2 kids. Still ended up in a room with 1-bed and was asked to use the sofa as a make-shift bed.

Extremely rude staff during the check-in time . We were driving from Toronto to NJ - that’s a 9 hour drive. After that ordeal, guests expect an iota of politeness and compassion. Almost every guest will have significant travel before checking in and could do with basic hospitality and cordiality. Primitive hospitality basics missing.

No toiletries provided. Not sure how they were unable to provide with the basics. We had a late checkin and calling reception for basic supplies is nothing I had ever experienced at a hotel like Marriot.

Worst morning breakfast menu I have ever seen in a hotel. Scrambled eggs , tea , coffee , bagels and that’s it. The breakfast crew was much polite though.

Housekeeping wasn’t done even when I explicitly asked them to. We stayed for 5 days and they changed sheets only once. For towels , the housekeeping asked me to collect towels myself and bring it out to her, as if it was a 50-50 effort . You bring out the bins, and I will collect them.

Sheets aside, they didn’t bother to clean toilets / rooms.

Parking was ample, but very busy. It boasted valet parking , but there was no valet around.

Very un-Marriot like. But maybe that’s how Marriott’s are turning into these days.

We booked 2 rooms here for a night before our cruise from Bayonne. It seemed harmless enough at first. I will say the check in staff was very nice. The hotel was extremely loud, and the walls were very thin. Our entire floor reeked of weed. I was woken up by the ants parading across my headboard, pillow and nightstand (pictures attached). My wife went down for "breakfast" which was mostly prepackaged foods, and after opening her third moldy bagel (picture attached) she gave up and skipped breakfast. My daughter went to use the shower in the am, but first I had to clean out hair and the used soap from the previous guest. This hotel is certainly not up to Marriott standards, I was very disappointed. I reached out to the hotel and Marriott several times, and never got any response other than "we'll get back to you soon". They clearly don't care about this hotel or its customers.

Stayed here for Memorial Day weekend, the website said pool, the pool is out of service! We came mainly for the indoor pool for the kids, thank you for disappointment. Also breakfast was served out of paper bags with 1 tiny bagel and cream cheese, felt like I was in kindergarten. The hotel saves money not serving real breakfast and please dont use Covid as an excuse

Got a call from the front desk at 2:30 AM (!) asking if we had ordered an Uber??? Woke us up, couldn’t go back to sleep. No explanation (I’ve asked) why this happened. We were dead asleep and didn’t order any Uber. Nobody should be able to call up to the room without giving guest info.

Also we had 2 rooms and in one room the key stopped working because the door reader had a dead battery. They didn’t fix it so we had to move rooms. Huge hassle.

My visit was horrible. The air conditioning was DAMP. The linen on the bed felt moist and cold. A very unpleasant experience and I missed my bed. This was a one night event because of the tropical storm and my lights were out. The hotel assured me the air conditioning worked. The it was the worst air condition I ever felt. It took me more than an hour to even sit down .

My daughter's and I got our flight cancelled and went ahead and booked a night at this hotel. After being in the airport for so many hours with kids were very tired. After getting a confirmation, we got an uber and got dropped off at the hotel. We got to the hotel and the receptionist told us no room available. No empathy, doesn't know how to treat people with respect. Being in the hotel industry, this is unacceptable and this is a very bad reputation for marriott.
I will go ahead and email the corporate office with his name so he can get re trained.

The best word for this Fairfield is underwhelming. I’m okay with it being cookie-cutter, but this goes a step further with unappealing, cold and soulless. Breakfast simply wasn’t, just empty bins. We picked it and paid more expecting a lot more from a Marriott flag.
