The Royal Lagoons Hotels & Resorts boasts a prime location favored by guests for its closeness to local shopping and excursions, yet the service quality receives mixed reviews, with some visitors noting a reliance on tipping. While the vibrant atmosphere and variety of amenities, including dining and entertainment, are highlights, guests have called out the need for improvements in WiFi and staff conduct.
Room cleanliness and maintenance fall short of the expected 5-star standard, eliciting concerns from several travelers. Opinions on value are divided, with hidden costs and lackluster inclusions dampening the experience for some.

We are currently on the 2nd week of our stay here. It's been wonderful! The food is very good and lots of a choice in the Buffet, different everyday and there is also a Grill fresh everyday. Very very good Chefs for an All inclusive. Also there a 3 other restaurants that are free but you must book. There are lots of Sunbeds, and a heated outside pool, and Cool pools. A small water park for little ones and water Chutes for bigger people. Entertainment every day & night. There is a shuttle bus to the Beach, and you join in Boules, stretches, dancing on the Beach, along with the Bar and lunch Burger and Chips if you want to stay on the Beach. You can walk out of the Back entrance and walk up the promenade with lots of shops, bars etc. You will not be bored here! The Rooms are Big in the Villa we are in, with very large wardrobes and plenty of Hangers, Large Bathrooms with wall mounted soap. Room cleaning is everyday, the whole site is very clean, and the Cleaners, Housekeeping, Gardner, Waiting staff and Reception are really lovely people, so friendly,so caring. There is also a Spa & Gym on site if you want to Treat yourself. There are mosquitos out now 4th Feb, so bring protection. We are really enjoying our stay, the people who look after you are amazing, tip them well. Please don't give them pound coins, they can't change them at the Bank, best give notes, or local currency, and they do deserve tipping as they work hard. We will be coming back and bringing our Grand Children. We have no Complaints at all, except for that of the Lobby, it is so busy at night as it's the only WiFi area.

This is my third visit did 2018 2019 great hotel and fantastic staff I booked the cheapest room and on arrival was given upgrade to a villa over looking the pool area wow I was made very welcome and a few staff recognised me. They couldn't do enough for me . As a single traveller, it's a great hotel to visit if you can communicate with people you will never be alone made fantastic new friends you all know who you are going to keep in touch with everyone. You get what you pay for great value always something to eat good food and drink and entertainment. Lots of people expect too much from life and moan about everything you need to look at your life your on holiday ffs just enjoy and communicate with staff if you shout and complain they won't go out of their way to help you. For instance a pipe burst in my bathroom within minutes the room was flooding one call to reception maintenance came sorted everything out and moved to new room with same outlook over the pool within 20 minutes 😀 great service. It pays to be polite I had a fantastic holiday hot sun every day and in restaurant just ask if thers something I love the little bananas 🍌 not on every day so ask if any available 😋. I go to chill out and top up my tan for the year and enjoy every day talk to new people and giving advice about trips as I have done most of them what a way to spend January in my favourite Egypt. The negative bits rooms are getting tired and yes the sales staff at you for the first few days thats it. And I got a free late checkout I loved every minute and if your swimming in the heated pool don't swallow any water keep your head above the water as lots of kids using the slides. I had no upset stomach never felt unwell get in first for the food and enjoy your holiday. It's a great hotel enjoy every day live life to the full and remember your on holiday smile 😃 👍

I wouldn't say it's a 5 start hotel. I would rate it 3*. Since we arrived we had to wait at the lobby around 1 hour until we get our room, when we get a room key I asked where is the room and the reception staff asked us to sit in a lobby and wait 10 mins. Than a worker came and lead us to our room. Bear in mind that if they showing you location of your room they will ask for a tip which for me sounds ridiculous. When we came in the room we could smell really unpleasant smell and when I checked the bathroom I figured that this smell coming from the toilet. We went back to reception and asked for different room, I didn't want to spend a week in the room where smell is really strong and unpleasant. They gave us another room in a different villa which was a bit better at least no smell. If you can try to ask for a room not with a pool view otherwise you won't have any rest, we had our trips planned for first 3 days and waking up times was early in the mornings and because our room was with pool view we could hear loud music till 12 -1am and than starting from 8 am again.

Good afternoon, everyone, there will be a lot of letters, so get ready. The grounds of the hotel are nice in principle, but little greenery and flowering plants, there is a small construction on the grounds, which in principle does not interfere, although, a wall is being built near the dining area on the street, so when you eat, all the concrete dust flies to you for food. There are several swimming pools, which compensates for the lack of a first line, but the sea certainly cannot be replaced. The rooms are normal, slightly of course tired and full of sand, no one will clean your floors there, unless of course you ask for it several times. The towels were changed daily if you throw them on the floor, the linen in the holes never changed in all 11 days. Now for the sea. Egypt is where everyone goes for the sea, but here's a very big downside, after 11 o'clock in the morning clean don't expect, lots of seaweed, garbage, mud, all this on the territory of the whole beach, swimming is just nasty. Now about the service, the Russians are generally treated normally, and the staff, most, understand what you want from them, and if they don't, then pretend to celebrate only from all the staff who didn't ruin the impression of the hotel, want animator Marley, gambler bear, you're cool 👍🏻and also waiter Mario, you're cool too, thanks for the service, you deserve separate thanks. Food is scarce, every day is the same, for the whole stay there was once free ice cream and once every 3-4 days shrimp. Barbecue on the beach is not recommended, it's not worth $20. Washing glasses is a separate horror, they're just rinsed with a little water and immediately given away, which is very unhygienic. On the day of departure, you rent your room at 12, you get your bracelet cut off, you can only enjoy b/a drinks and snacks at the bar/beach, if you have a flight in the late evening, you will be left without a room and hungry, well unless of course you pay them, in principle this is the first time I have encountered this attitude, even at 4* did not cut your bracelet and fed lunch. Towels are only given once a day and cannot be changed if it is very wet, dry as you like, no one will replace it Also in general about the hotel, the lobby area is very small for so many rooms, there is nowhere to sit in the evening, the internet is weak from the word altogether, so it is better to have your own. So is the area on the street in front of the lobby sparse, only three sofas, a priori lack of seats in the evening for everyone. Animation is scarce, almost non-existent, animator Marley is respectable, always having fun aqua aerobics👐🏻 The hotel experience is twofold, it's not worth the money we paid for it, it's not a 5-star hotel or even a 4-star hotel pulling a maximum of 3+ stars I don't recommend it, I'd rather look for options than come here. Hope my review was helpful👐🏻All kind!🙏🏻

We spent a week here in April with a colleague (from Estonia).
Number. Superior (3rd floor). The room is simple, bright, with enough wardrobe space, which is important to me. Perfectly clean bedding and towels, comfortable mattresses. The room has a spacious balcony with stunning views of the area - palm trees, swimming pools and the sea in the distance.
Food. Enough, everything is simple and tasty - chicken, beef, fish, vegetables, side dishes of rice and potatoes in different variations, local national dishes, a selection of cheeses, grilled food, fruits, desserts. Twice in a week we had amazing grilled king prawns, we couldn’t get away from the plate. Fresh juices are available for an extra charge of 2 euros. There is waiter service in the restaurant. For drinks, delicious coffee in the lobby bar and delicious cocktails (imported alcohol, extra charge, 3-4 euro cocktail) in the Royal Bar on the second floor.
Beach. Sandy lagoon, gentle slope, there are some pebbles at the entrance. To the beach every 10 - 15 minutes. shuttle There is a bar on the beach with drinks, salad, burgers for lunch, and a shower.
Animation. Family, aquatic, yoga, zumba, foam party, mini-disco. Near the Mamsha shopping street and nightclubs B2, Elements up to 10 minutes. on foot.
The hotel also has a SPA, a gym with a sufficient selection of exercise equipment and air conditioning, a store where you can buy SIM cards, souvenirs, cigarettes, etc.
The staff are positive, friendly and attentive, from reception to waiters, bartenders and beachboys - the hotel is definitely well managed.
Excellent work by the bartender Mõhamed Nagu at the Royal Bar - a professional in his field, regularly pleased with delicious coffee, beautiful cocktails and good service👍
A very colorful place, Hala Royal Lounge Shisha Lounge - hookahs and drinks (for an additional fee), there is a cozy oriental atmosphere, great music, good hookah and excellent work from the hookah maker Mõhamed Ali👍
Guys, thank you for a good rest and your work❣️🙏🌷

♦♦♦♦READ EVERYONE CAREFULLY♦♦♦♦♦♦ I'll take turns starting: -arrival early was (the hotel was already at 6) and at the reception without bribe refuse to feed breakfast and check in, as the check-in starts at 10. -rooms as in the photo, but the furniture is tired, broken, in principle the room is normal, the view is good. You leave $1 to the janitor and he's clean every day, or he can forget the water (if you want to fight on the phone and it's the same without $1) - rested in early December, of 3 basiks heated 1 and there all (children and adults). The sun roasts from 10:00 to 17:00, but the wind is strong at sea. You can sunbathe, but it's cold in the sea for more than 15 minutes unless you're a walrus. -The area is big, clean, looks normal. -food-eating is a lot, but by day 3-4 it gets boring. Milk for muesley water is white 😁. Sausage and soy cheese. The most important thing about food is 2 minus - all meat and fish are cooked in the same seasoning, so there is no taste of fish or meat, just eat something in the seasoning. But you can eat, beef is edible, chicken is. Shrimp and crayfish are made twice a week, BUT they are also in this seasoning and they are not roasted at all, they give away just raw, eating is unreal. Restik all-card take no point, there's the same food from the buffet, one-in-one, and the view for the photo they don't have, just tired premises with old tablecloths. The show programs evenings are so crappy, clean 2 hours and even a minimum of discotheques (either I had grandfathers on me and turned off for lack of people) In principle, rest is right normal, but unless you are a socialite and lwenk, since there is no place to take a photo, it only in the lobby, so chile, rest and alcohol.

Was worried about the hotel, but shouldn’t have, me an my other half had a great week here. Yes the hotel In parts is a little dated but the maintenance crews are working on this continuously during the quiet season, their presence was no bother or disruptive at all. Our room was in the main hotel overlooking the pool, it was big, clean and nicely decorated. The room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels everyday and linen changed at least twice in the week. The pools were all clean as was the area surrounding them, the main pool with the slides is heated which was a gif send as the other two pools were as cold as a Scottish loch🥶. The food in the main restaurant was typical of an all inclusive hotel trying to cater for the masses of different cultures. Even the fussiest eater should be able to find something to eat. At breakfast, there was cereals, fruit, yogurt, pastries, cheese, breads, freshly prepared omelettes and pancakes and various other hot food and access to a toasted sandwich machine. The lunch and dinner service was always the pasta station, where they made pasta freshly for you, most nights there was fresh pizza made for you, grilled meat, fish and lots of other rice, chips, stews etc. and lots of fresh fruit and delicious desserts. There is also a snack bar twice a day service traditional hot donut balls and burgers in the afternoon
The staff bend over backwards to help you out and make sure you ah e a great holiday. A little tip often will ensure a great stay and helps the staff a lot. Please don’t give in euro or puns coins as they can’t change it, local currency is best
Negatives
1 harrased by agents in the hotel to go in excursions, very persistent and annoying 2. Fresh squeezed juice is at an extra 100egp nit part of the all inclusive 3. Very Rude female receptionist who was the least helpful and very rude to British people.

It is truly the worst experience in Egypt. It will not be repeated again. The hotel is 5 stars, but when you are inside the hotel, you will not give it more than 3 or 2 stars. We faced a problem with the sweets and cakes here and it is really very bad. We spoke with a person in the restaurant with Mr. Rabie and he told us they will fix Everything and we got up on the second day and he told us that we could try the cakes. he said Everything had been changed, but we we’r deceived by him and the taste was unbearable, like plastic or the colors of the walls. The hotel is not clean. The rooms are very old, even the towels are old and dilapidated. Today I found hair in the salad. The situation was very disgusting. I spoke to the waiter but he did not care about anything and no one from the management cared. I do not recommend it. This hotel really does not deserve 5 stars and the table from the pool bar full with hair and not cleaned and sticky We gave the waiters, housekeeping and others a good tip every day, but even then the service they provided was minimal. Even in the beach bar there was no real milk, only powdered milk. There is no real juice in the whole hotel and on the beach, only juices mixed with powder and water. What is all inclusive here? There is only one small bottle of water per day per person. You have to pay or pay extra for many, many things.

As a family we enjoyed our stay our stay overall. Our rooms were cleaned every day & fresh towels were provided daily as was bottled water. Just a shame they didn't have milk in the room. Communal areas were clean too. Staff were super friendly & helpful, especially Mario from the pool bar & George from the lobby bar - nothing was too much trouble. The food was very repetitive & not well seasoned. There were however, lovely soups & beautiful salads every day & delicious home made bread & rolls. I also tried the Egyptian national dish which was delightful. The entertainment team were great fun. Can't say we enjoyed the shows, not really much going on. The drinks 'all inclusive' was weird, wine was only available at lunch & dinner times which made no sense but, there's plenty alternatives. Wine was available after 11pm in the lobby bar & we had to pay for it but it wasn't a problem as very cheap compared to UK prices. We paid less than £800 each for 11 days ( 3 rooms) & considered it good value for money.

We arrived ere late at night. Everything went smoothly for us at check in and we were very impressed with the room n the large front bit. Air conditioning was amazing the whole 2 weeks. We found that some of the hotel staff were racist. A couple in front of me weren’t from the uk a the chefs piled up there plates wit prawns. When it was our turn we got 4. This happened more than once n we reported it that we were being discriminated against. And we weren’t the only English family. The pool and the gardens were clean. The gardeners worked hard every day maintaining the gardens the pool was always clean and sunbeds were always available. We were hassled the first couple days with salesmen it done ma heed in. One guy said I needed a facial cos I had too much facial hair ( down ) n too many blackheeds lol I didn’t even have one blackheed he went from 100 pounds an went the whole way doon to 15 quid lol so we found the red flags an hung them from our parasol and that kept the salesmen away. The food was really bad we ended up eating at a wee restaurant oot the back was so cheap was lik 2.50 for chicken curry an fries. Our flight hame wasn’t to late at night an we had to be out of our room by 12 we asked bout keeping a room on a wed pay for it but there was none. So we were given a room later on in the afternoon to get showered an dressed in. Over all we enjoyed Egypt not so much the hotel tbh just be careful if getting Ubers as one night we were getting an Uber back up to the hotel an half way back he cancelled the ride and demanded cash we were frightened an had to get hotel security to help sort it out. He told us that these Uber drivers have a habit of doing this. He was so angry with hotel security but he sorted it oot for us. Loved going oot the back to all the shops but literally tortured walking doon. Some of them don’t take no for an answer even after I firmly said no. And this was every night. Be careful also as young children tell u there hungry an if u don’t give them anything they will pick pocket u we couldn’t believe it wen the young girl she was at the most 8 years old she put her hand in ma pals pocket lol

Pool towels are available....when you check in you are given a 'pool towel card' for each person in your booking...you exchanged these at the hut by one of the pools for towels and you take towels back when you are finished with them and get 'towel cards' back.....DO NOT lose them...there is a replacement fee.
Toiletries......just soap and shampoo in dispensers.
