Hi,

We visited on 6th Feb 2021 for celebrating my wife's birthday at golden palms resort. Well we both loved it. Well we have been to this resort many a times before but first time stayed overnight there. As a family we enjoyed a lot. Helped a lot by flackton decosta and team at site.

Felt absolute safe even during covid time and smooth check-in and checkout.

Breakfast , lunch and dinner all were too good.

Thanks to entire golden palms folks to have our stay pleasant.

Regards,
Rakesh Ranjan

We have just returned from a 10 day holiday at this wonderful resort and we would like to recommend it to others who would like a relaxing holiday by a beautiful beach in southern China. The staff is friendly and helpful and have enough English language skills to be able to assist guests with most requests. We stayed in a spacious and comfortable 'deluxe seaview room' on the 6th floor and I would definitely recommend staying on that side of the resort. The ground floor garden view looked over the large pool (hammocks and lounges abound!) and might have been a little noisy if you wanted an afternoon nap. There is an ATM in the foyer, the food in the 2 restaurants was tasty and snacks were available in the small lounge area at the front of the resort. There are very few alternative options for eating in Yalong Bay itself beyond the various resorts, but a 5 yuan ride on the regular blue double decker bus that plies the resort areas along the coast will take you to an area frequented by Chinese folks where the seafood is cheap and fresh. Just point at what you want and they will indicate the price per kg on the calculator. I had fresh shrimp for 18 yuan per 500 grams (compared to 120 yuan I was quoted at one hotel at the end of the strip!). A taxi ride to and from the airport will cost 100 yuan, and a trip to Sanya city will be about 50. The resort's section of the beach was always much less busy than those which were allocated to other resorts either side of us. The water was crystal clear, the sand clean and wooden deck chairs with umbrellas were available for lounging. Enjoy!

We spent 9 days at this hotel over the main holiday week and I have to say the staff are lovely and try very hard to help you, but their English is limited.

One small moan they were slow at cleaning the rooms, one day it was nearly 6pm before our room was finished.

Don't let this put you off though, I would go again, the pool area is delightful and you can sit on a chair swing or hammock over looking a lake.

I wish I had stayed longer there and I would definately go back.

Worst hotel/resort! My tip is don't come here! Terrible service & facilities. Dirty rooms. No continental breakfast.
Stuff don't speak English.
It's a quest - to order the bottle of wine on dinner.
Run away!

I think the hotel was a great deal. It's right across the road from the beach with private hotel lounge chairs and a resort island beautiful bay. The water is very clean with good visibility. We chose the garden view for the price and it was incredibly nice. Bed was surprisingly comfortable and 4 english channels. Hotel back area with swimming pool and lounge chairs is nice. Lake was pretty although some of the hillsides were bare. The mall with restaurants is 1.3 km away and has a shopping store where you can buy food, wine, chips, etc. 8 rmb to and from via available taxis. They put on a show in the lobby with Christmas carolers which we thoroughly enjoyed. Since we were just looking to get out of Shanghai air for 5 days and didn’t want to spend that much, this hotel served that purpose well.
That said, you have to realize this is still China. Which means a lot of friendly “meiyo”, don't have, doesn't work, don't provide, ....meiyo. And only 10% of the food will be appealing to most westerners. Breakfast will be eggs. 90% of the girls at the service desk don’t speak any English and they couldn't grasp even google translations of the most simplest hotel type questions. But they were friendly and they tried. That's typical for china. The beach chairs didn’t have cushions but the pool area ones did. Things were loose, bathroom was bachelor clean and the main light went out, sauna and hot tubs weren't in service, minimal exercise equipment, and internet was too slow for movies. And it's not on a peninsula as some pictures show but rather a lake in the back (they cut out the land). We had to get upwind of the workers spraying the beach bar with stain since it smelled. But this is china. Since even the reviews for the $300+/ nite hotels sounded the same, I paid little, expected less, and ended up pleasantly impressed.

All in all the hotel is good, but If you're young and looking for entertainment this hotel is absolutely not for you. Even all this Yalong Bay not for you)) It's better go to Dadunhai
Pluses
- Good breakfast,
- Good swimming pool
- Clean beach is near hotel
- Very nice veranda! During the breakfast you will enjoy the landscape

Minuses

-Quiet atmosphere... VERY Quiet
- Staff doesn’t speak English at all. To explain them what is fork absolutely impossible.
- The rooms are so so, actually, they are stale and some closets are needed to be repaired

Me and my husnand spent 3days in the Golden palm hotel on Yalong bay and then 7days at Dadonghai. Yalong bay is a really nice place! Beach is clean and not crowded unlike Dadonghai. The hotel is so beautiful, amaizing views from every window. We had a garden view room, but we could still see the see behind the palms and even hear it at night, when its quiet. If you are looking for romantic place and want to enjoy being on the beach stay longer on Yalong bay.Not far from the hotel (ab 10-15min.walk to the right) there is Crown plaza where you can find a lot of restaurants and not expencive places to eat. I know next time we'll stay at the Golden palm the whole voc. P.S. Thanks to elong online booking,we never had problems with checking in.. Hope this information was helpful. Thank you.

The Philippine band in Resort Golden Palm is the worst band in Sanya. the lady singer is very ugly and the sound of their voices is like cracking. The lady singer don't even smile at the guests. The band are not friendly and they are out of tune. If the hotel wants the guests to come back to their hotel they must change their Philippine band...very ugly looking couple and always ask for money if we want to order some songs! The service in the hotel is average although the food is quite ok especially the dinner buffet...my family loves the seafoods. Keep up the good work of the service and please change the Philippine band you have now. Thank you! My family will come back next year if the band is already changed.

The service was horrendous - probably post-traumatic effect of focusing and depending mainly on rude and bullying Russian tourists.
No services could be charged to the room. Everything had to be prepaid. The hotel accepted the Chinese payment card UnionPay, WeChat or cash - VISA, Mastercard and American Express could not be used. In Yalong Bay, two out of three ATMs that accepted VISA and Mastercard were out of business the five days we stayed there. Heavy russianalized chinese menu for all meals. As a rule there was not enough of anything - empty serving platters most of the time. Don't book full board, even breakfast was dreary and scarce.
Nice, slightly worn facilities, good location and good cleaning.
Free Wi-Fi is a joke - slow and low accessability. If you need a stable connection you'll have to stay up till 03 AM.

"I think that they may have upgraded one side of the hotel and not the other - we stayed in the non-upgraded side - to the left. The rooms on the right side of the hotel may be in better condition, but of course more expensive. If you do stay, take a lake-side room or lake-view. Due to the location of the hotel, any sea-view rooms will look over the parking lot and then over to the sea. Not quite the experience that paying for sea-view would promise."
