Detailed Reviews

First of all, I would like to say that we booked the superior oceanview room type. They gave us a room with a view of the rooftops of the buildings and a little bit of the sea, which can be seen through the air conditioners. They tried to resolve the issue through the guide, but he translated that in their hotel this one of ours is not up to the oceanview and there is an oceanview. Don't be fooled and don't overpay! They take a deposit of $100, which is not written about anywhere. I believe that this hotel is below 5 stars for the following reasons:
1. The room they give you is not the one you expect for a decent surcharge
2. At the reception they don't speak English at all. Only through a translator on your phone.
3. Breakfast plates are broken and cracked, there are no small spoons, juices run out quickly and people are in no hurry to refill them.
4. The sink in the room was also cracked, like in a roadside motel.
Pros:
renovated hotel,
delicious (Asian) breakfast until 12,
helpful staff,
cleaning every day, the bed is changed as expected, if you need it more often, you can put a green leaf with a request to change it and everything will be ok,
the bed and pillows are comfortable, there is an iron and a hairdryer (as expected) the hotel is in a good location.
Excellent hotel guides - always ready to help

+1
The hotel is good, worthy of 5ka, cleaned daily very high quality, towels are white and soft, the bed is also chic, although everywhere you can smoke, but there is no smell. The pool on the 5th floor outside is nice.
The beach is given daily yellow towels, also clean and soft. Air conditioning works well, very evenly. Shower facilities are complete. Bathrobes, slippers and rubber showers and soft regular. Ironing board and iron with very good steaming.
Breakfasts are as varied and extensive as lunches, many things are eaten and first courses like noodles with different additives, pastries, duck and fried and smoked always, different mushrooms and vegetables, fruit: always watermelon, melon, guava, less often maracuya, pear. Dumplings, gyoji, coffee, tea, juices. The guides are Chinese, but they are always in the hotel and speak good Russian, the staff does not speak Russian or English.
Now all the way to Hainan.
We have not been to Sanya Bay and have not experienced sand fleas, but in Dadonghai we have been bitten in the last couple of days by small midges (also on the beach on the sand) the size of a dot (although they may be), especially these bites have been activated already here upon arrival, on the legs and hands of probably 30 bites, and they are constantly itching. That's a big downside that offsets half the upside. But as practice shows, some bite, some don't.
Also in our bay you can't swim normally, there are buoys just above the knee if a lifeguard and a policeman start whistling behind them.
We'd go to the left, where you can't go and swim, the whistlers would come almost immediately, but we wouldn't pay attention to them there anymore, they'd whistle, they'd yell at their mouthpiece, but then they'd leave, seeing that we'd still swim.
And the third downside in general is the heat and humidity at this time of year, you walk all the time wet due to humidity (but compared to midges it is generally normal).
Went to other bays to swim: Xiao donghai (there's the Intercontinental Hotel), there are no buoys, no midges, no whistlers, although entering the sea is uncomfortable on the stones, but on the whole it was good and we were only 15 yuan away by taxi.
Then we went to Yalong Bay, which is of course the poshest place to go. There are buoys, but the beach is huge and the buoys are at a decent depth and far from the shore. Well, the hotels are more expensive and the food.
For food we went a lot (including the night market), but ended up staying either to eat in Pineapple or in the evening at the market near Pineapple. Different squid, octopus, baked oysters and Beijing-style duck. Ice cream is cool, smoothies and fruit. Very delicious Hainan pineapples and maracuya (pineapples are small, and maracuya is green and sweet, unlike the usual one, which is sour), they grow only here.
We went on two excursions: on a yacht (I do not recommend it, because they sailed for only 15 minutes, and then stood with other yachts just like free time, swim only in vests, you could ride a jet ski, but this skiing for Chinese pensioners - neither speed nor itself can not and minutes 3 total).
And the second tour of the glass bridge and the jungle, it was high, there was a lot of fun.
It's so tight, but it's kind of covered.
Have a great time everyone!!

My partner and I booked this hotel using a well-known online booking agency, but later found a better deal on another booking agency. We used the former booking agency's free cancellation, but the hotel had already withdrawn the money for whatever reason. In fact, as soon as the original booking was made, the hotel rushed to withdraw the money. This makes little sense to me when you're offering free cancellation.
A few weeks later, we went to the hotel for our stay (booked via the second agency), where they assured us the money would be returned soon. Well, here we are 1.5 months (45 DAYS!) since the booking was cancelled, and they are still lying about having returned our money. Communication is also very difficult, due to the hotel customer service barely speaking any English. BEWARE!
Cannot recommend due to severe lack of professionalism and customer care.

We are on vacation with Edem Travel in Hainan, June 2024. Xianya, Dadonghai Hotel. The hotel is not bad, but it is not a beach hotel at all, there is no beach infrastructure, the pool is often closed, in the rain and sometimes for no reason. The beach next to the hotel is often closed when the waves and jellyfish, if the waves are a meter long, don’t even allow you to approach the water, they whistle, everything is designed for the Chinese, who often do not know how to swim, neither the hotel nor the bay nearby is suitable for a beach holiday and swimming. It’s better to go to yalong bay, there is a normal beach and they are always allowed into the sea.
