Booked 2 twin-bed city view rooms.
- Decent sized room with small bathroom (no bathtub), self-dispensary conditioning shampoo and body wash amenity and basic toiletries kit.
- Twin beds were larger and were very comfortable. Complimentary daily bottled water, though no coffee/tea.
- Breakfast was served on 17th floor, with a reasonable buffet selection of breads, cereals, salads, vegetables, hot foods, porridge in addition to eggs and noodles cooking stations. Skipped the tea and coffee dispensers as bland.
- Chinese-speaking hotel staff. Shuttle service from hotel to airport available.
- Yusha Capital City, a mall is located opposite the hotel site, with stores (UNIQLO, Watson’s). Easy to hail taxis as it is a busy location. Please bring the hotel business card when you are out.
- overall, good value in the city area.

Stayed here while visiting on a fellowship. The hotel service was lovely, but the staff have difficulty communicating in English. Air conditioning in public spaces of the hotel is rare. The breakfast is more appropriate for Chinese travelers; if you're looking for traditional Western breakfast you won't find it here. No gym, but the hotel is a few blocks from a wonderful public park that is full of morning exercise routines.

Good place for supper! Stalls are located around the hotel that served noodles and bbq food late at night or past midnight. To get KFC or Mac, it's just a street away from the hotel.
However this hotel is not easy to recognise especially on a rainy day. The cab took us two rounds bout the hotel and finally a call to 114 before we arrived at our hotel. The hotel name is in chinese character and on top of building, look up to spot it.
There is free wifi and shuttle bus service to the airport. But I would recommend staying at Meilan area because I prefer visiting night markets. Overall, a great hotel with acceptable pricing and location!

First time I'm giving a 1 star review after 130 reviews on Trip Advisor. If its anything good about this hotel, its the location. Other than that, its a massive failure on all fronts from the bellman, concierge and indefinitely the paid ala carte morning buffet breakfast. Its practically worse than even an AirBNB stay at its lowest spectrum. I checked out the very next morning to another international brand property.

There is zero consistency in everything. We took 3 rooms and all mini bars were setup differently. Of which I was even charged for their missing items. For breakfast, try cleaning up the tables after other customers and begging for a set of fork and knives, chopsticks and cup even when evident that there are elderly, aged 80s and above travelling in the group. This hotel is a major nightmare and I can't bring myself to type in detail of their other failures pertaining to various departments.

At first, The visit to the city which does not have information too much, and was worried about it for a while.
However, Haikou must say that it is a modern city as it is unbelievable first.
As it is Hong Kong, or as it is Honolulu-Hawaii, it also seems to be Fukuoka-Japan.

Many hotel is there in Haikou, I felt to compete for comfort.

This hotel of the modern international standard specifications that all the more high-floor part is a hotel is satisfied with the equipment in particular, and seemingly the interior decoration is modern grade.

If historical area wants to travel, it is about 10 minutes in a taxi.
In the neighborhood, there are many cheap dining-rooms till late at night.

If the difficulty was mentioned, in The room connected My Note PC on a slightly narrow thing and a free Internet line if I gave a difficult point, but access to the portal site of a foreign country was not completed. Here is China......

Moreover, the sound of a thing with a thin wall of the room and the next room and the sound of a passage are worried a little.

Moreover, Breakfast was Chinese Buffet, although it was abundant menus, clever imagination of it was not completed, it has seldom been selected.

Moreover, it was the concierge's woman ?, or since only the one woman spoke perfect English, she was very helpful.

I think, what should be mentioned especially is a hotel of present-day international standard specification, and you should not complain if it is this price.

I think that it will be very suitable selection if you would like to feel not a resort but a country watching Real & modern China!

English is a slight barrier but the service is impeccable! They went out of their way to try to make me understand and communicate. I ate vegetarian and when I asked the waiter for all the vegetarian dishes in the buffet he surprised me by getting me something completely fresh.

Great hotel with great service however the Internet was very poor but it seems that way in Shanghai as well so not sure if its the hotels fault.

Hopefully be back again :)

Baofa Happiness hotel is a high-quality Chinese hotel. The hotel caters mainly to Chinese customers and serves a largely Chinese breakfast. They seem to always have someone on staff who speaks some English, although speaking Chinese is definitely helpful here, as in all of Haikou.

Overall, I had a great stay. The staff was very helpful and my room was large and exceptionally clean. The air conditioning in my room was very cold, essential in Haikou! The hotel is centrally located and the breakfast was generous.

One minor drawback was the checkout. It was probably the longest checkout I've ever experienced at a hotel, with the staff handling many tasks at once and other hotel guests randomly walking up and interrupting my checkout process. I think it took 20 minutes to check out, although the staff was very apologetic about making me wait so long. There was also some confusion about the city tax, as I had paid for my room ahead of time but also needed to pay a nominal tax upon checkout (approximately 6 RMB per day).

Wifi is free, you just have to ask at the desk for a wireless router for your room.

The hotel has a shuttle from the hotel to the airport, but not vice versa, so you'll need to get your own transportation to the hotel. Also, you should book a seat in the shuttle to the airport ahead of time by notifying the front desk of your departure time.

Overall, Baofa Happiness Hotel is a great choice in this price range. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Haikou.

A very good hotel, the prices are very tolerable and the overall quality is very good. You can easily say this hotel holds a good international standard. The initial impression is that it is a very upscale hotel, but it does cater to "mortal men" as well. The prices seem to be season dependent, but I won't stake my life on it.

A tip can also be to dine in the attached downstairs restaurant to get a discount on the stay at the hotel. One receives a business card of a floor manager and by referring to this person when you book the room you get the discount.

This is a second visit to the city and this hotel (September of 2011 and June of 2012). The hotel was very clean and upscale. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, having both local cuisine and some western food. From my visit a year ago, I believe the pool only opens in the evening (around 5 p.m.) which is somewhat traditional for the culture. My schedule was such that I was unable to use the pool when it was open, but it looked very beautiful. I could see it from my room, and was told the entrance was located on the 9th floor. Great coffee shops and other local shopping in the immediate area. The front desk is very helpful.
