We came for a short vacation to stay in the world’s largest Golf Resort Mission Hills in Shenzhen.
The Golf Courses (we played the World Cup, Vijay and Ozaki) have been in a very good condition, fairways and greens really well maintained! Also the organization was very professional, everything worked perfect!
We also enjoyed the Hotel, we got a very nice room in the sixth floor with a nice view to one of the Golf courses.
The food in the hotel was delicious (we used the breakfast and the Chinese Restaurant).
The Patio Restaurant (can be reached by the free Shuttle Bus), which also belongs to the Mission Hills Resort, we can also 100% recommend.

Last but not least we really appreciate the care of the Front Desk Manager Jazzy Hu, she was always present and helped us a lot. Her English is really good.

Overall a very good place to be, I can really honestly recommend! We will come again, because we want also play a few of the other nine Golf courses.

Pool is not heated - there, that's the bad news. The food is good, three or four options right at the hotel. Nice bar in the lobby and the Margaritas were amazing! Spa offers a nice variety of packages for massages or facials. The staff speaks good English and are very helpful. We stayed for two nights on a package that included some activities. The staff helped us find the places using the shuttle bus if it was off site. If you take the metro, use exit A and the shuttle bus comes right there every thirty minutes. The room is very nice, and when we were there it was super quiet. Balcony overlooks a fairway, big bathroom with a bathtub. Whether we were doing activities or relaxing in the room, we were super-happy. Free breakfast, with amazing variety - fruits and western food, and chinese food. Badminton courts, basketball courts, driving range, starbucks, everything you need to relax. We loved it and cannot say enough nice things about it.

Upon arriving, I was greeted by Coral and Bella, both of whom went out of their way to make me feel welcomed as it was my first time here. With an easy check-in, I was shown to my room which had a peaceful view of the golf course, and which was of course clean, and surprisingly large.

During my stay, I felt that I was not in a city of 20 million people, but rather in an oasis (cliché, I know), and although I understand golf courses aren't the most environmentally friendly thing, still, it was nice not to hear constant concrete saws and car honking.

Mission Hills actually seems organized, international, and on top of it, which is more than I can say for most of Shenzhen. So, if you want a brief reprise from all that is China, I would recommend Mission Hills, which I hope to revisit sometime soon!

This is my 3rd time living in MH resort. I love spending my weekend here because it is a rare and well-planned “one stop shop” for people who love tennis, golf, shopping and good food. All entertainment are within 15 mins and are well served with shuttle bus. I will be bringing my kids next time as there are all kinds of lessons & fun places in the MH Mall area for kids. Can’t wait!

Hands down worst customer service I’ve ever experienced at any hotel. I really had to google and check whether I read the ratings right.

From start to finish this place left a bad taste in my mouth. Let’s start from the pros

- spacious rooms, amenities as you’d expect
- Family friendly
- Big mall next door with shuttle service

Cons

- the bedsheets irritated my skin
- Staff is undertrained. The check in staff didn’t know a lot of info regarding the hotel, made mistakes and told us wrong information
- Unknown staff knocks and barges into our suite right after we unpacked our luggage
- Two minutes later we get call from front desk. They forgot to take deposit and we need to go downstairs again

I can understand the front desk staff is perhaps new. But where is management or the trainers to help her ? At least 4 ladies were standing there !

- Golf course was mediocre at most. Poorly maintained. Any golf course in Guangzhou is better kept than this one.

- Spa was when it got horrible

My husband booked our room by calling 3 days prior and one of the internal staff helped him. The date, upgrading the room and the spa vouchers were all bought through her. She told us the link for the spa package knowing the date of our stay.

20 minutes into the spa treatment the receptionist comes in and tells my husband the spa vouchers we bought are expired. She then quickly leaves the room.

Even the massage therapist commented the receptionist cannot just exit and leave this problem for my husband to fix. He is in the middle of a relaxing massage for goodness sake!

Receptionist is called back, given the contact who booked our room. We had three hours of service and she still didn’t fix the problem
The worst thing was they asked my husband to pay again and they will refund the money when they fix the mistake! WHY?

Why are we paying twice for a mistake generated internally by the staff ? The tone of the conversation was poor and they were going to force my husband to pay until I said I want to talk to management first.

We luckily bumped into a lobby manager on the way back to the room and the spa issue was resolved the following day. What a sigh of relief, there’s one guy here who knows what he’s doing.

I came to this resort happy and left with a bad headache. The entire time I was dealing with admin issues or questioning whether I was told the right info. By the end of the spa I just wanted to go home but sadly this resort is too far to leave abruptly. I never wanted to leave a hotel SO BADLY!

Do yourself a favor and keep 2018 pleasant by booking a different golf resort. This place ruined New Years.

We have been visiting China for 20 days.. most of them spent in three, four and five stars hotels.

We decided to sleep at Mission Hills after being in Hong Kong. Mission Hills is the most famose golf resort in China: it has 10 golf courses designed by the most famouse players.
We booked a double room by internet for 55 euro/night, in the Savhanna Wings, which is not the main bulding, but a 8 floor biulding 5 minutes from the reception. They have shuttle buses taking you everywhere for free inside the resort.

Arriving from HK, we were delighted with what we found. A quite atmosphere, relaxing, charming, with 60 m2 rooms, with modern kitchen and a beautifull bathroom.. The room was overlooking on the "Els Course", where you can play in the night under the lights.

For non-golfer, the resort has a big swimming pool, and a SPA with all the treatments you may need (foot massage, sport massage, etc etc). The breakfast is simply incredible, with everything you may desire in the morning. I could not try the restaurant, but just the Cafè, where I had a lunch that was ok. I should have expected to pay more for extras (breakfast, lunch, SPA) considering the exclusivity of this resort, but I was surprised to been asked for 20 euro for a 5star 60 minutes massage or 10 euros for lunch.

For golf players, you can really spend a month there, playing in the day and in the night on 10 - 18 holes courses, at a very reasonable price.

The location of the resort is ok: it is 40 minutes from the Shenzen airport (the second biggest airport of China) and 30/40 minutes from the nearest borderline to Honk Kong.
Shopping centers are just 20 minutes away. They can arrange taxi or van to take you wherever you want.

I'm not used to review hotels with this tone and these words (see my other reviews). But, during my stay in China, this was really the best experience we had. If you are a golfer, this is a must. If you are a non golfer, this is the right way to get out from the crowed China for a couple of days, relaxing and getting ready to start again (bussinnese or holidays).

I've read other reviews complaining about the cost, quality and the caddies.
My experiences are very different.
The hotel amenities are excellent - not as swank as the HK Peninsula - and great value for money.
The best food at night is in the Chinese restaurant. Breakfast is sumptuous.
The caddies DO understand simple English - speak slowly and do not use slang expressions.
Try to get a "golden" caddie - more experience, but not necessarily better English.
Stay calm.
We found the best rates on the ausgolf.com.au website - they are a small Australian Company specialising in Mission Hills Golf Travel.

Mission Hills Shenzen Resort is of 5 star caliber, if you come for the rooms and pool, but not for the golf. Let me start w/ the good points:
- spacious rooms, some w/ sitting area and balcony overlooking golf course
- large pool w/ workout room
- maybe the best breakfast buffet I've ever had, w/ hot and cold, asian and non-asian food choices
- hotel staff speak some english
- grounds are very clean and landscaping is impeccable
- very large resort, feels like Disney World w/ golf theme
- transfer buses right on time

The cons:
- all the golf courses have similar design, as if all 12 courses were designed by the same person
- all golfers are funneled through 2 clubhouses where you catch a transfer bus to the 12 diff courses, which creates quite a bottleneck in peak hours. Making the transfer will require an additional 15-40min b/f your teetime, so be prepared. There's a major traffic jam at this singular clubhouse at the end of the day when you want to pick up your bag that was transferred from the golf course to the clubhouse.
- there are 2 clubhouses, the Shenzen and the Dongguan. Since they sold out the real estate surrounding the Shenzen golf courses, these courses are not as well maintained. Greens were sandy and slow, as if I'm putting on 1st cut of rough. Fairways look lush, but underneath is soggy and soft, my teeball rarely rolled more than 3 yds.
- their rental clubs are subpar, callaway knockoffs w/ Mission Hills Logos on them. Graphite shafts in soft flex usually.
- they require golf shoes and if you don't bring your own, they rent you a pair w/ flatten insoles, reminds me of wearing loose ballet shoes w/ laces
- driving range is US$8 for ~20 balls on top of the $240 green fee and they don't even have a wiping towels or tees
- they don't allow a non-golfer to ride in cart w/ you. If you bring a guest, she/he has to pay full green fees
I played the Faldo (shenzen side) and the Olazabal (Dongguan side), the latter in much better shape b/c they have yet to sell out of real estate there. I predict that as soon as all the RE is sold, the conditions will dilapidate like the Shenzen side. I hear Mission Hill Group is building a huge 20+ course facility in Hainai. When that happens, the RE owners here will be personae non gratae.
- if I paid US$100 for green fee, I wouldn't expect so much, but at US$240+, I expect much more than I got on the golf course.

I do have to say that the caddies, whose only pay is via tips, do an extremely good job of being cheerful, helpful, and encouraging. They made me forget all about the complaints I listed.

So come to Mission Hills for the hotel, but forget about the golf, they don't know jack about giving a good golfing experience. I was here primarily for the golf and I was deeply disappointed.
