Very nice hotel, charming, the beds are comfortable, there are enough pillows. It is next to the beach which allows you to enjoy with beach and pool, has towels for guests in the pool area, the staff is friendly. What can be improved is the maintenance of infrastructure. Keep in mind that the hotel has two floors without elevator which complicates the elderly, the same rooms with tub, are complex for the elderly. They must have the wheelchairs operational.

We were 8 diners. He was the first to order a Caesar salad (I can't eat onions). After 20 minutes someone else's first course arrived and 15 minutes later the remaining 6 minus mine. 0 minutes later I asked what happened to my salad? Five minutes later they appeared with a babiche. I feel like you made fun of me. I ran out of dinner.

My girlfriend and I drove to Arica for a weekend getaway. She had stayed at the Panamericana several times before, and raved about its staff and the fun times she and her family had experienced before. However, the last time she was there was a few years before, and she remarked at how the place seems to have gone downhill. I would have to agree.
While the facilities are older and the rooms are small and showing their age, that wasn't my main complaint. Instead, we ran into a series of incidents showing us the management just wasn't very customer-friendly and (apparently) did not press their staff to be customer-friendly either. Some examples:
1. The tennis court, which looks magnificent on the website, looked like it had been ignored for weeks at least. It was crusty and dirty, and just basically unloved.
2. My girlfriend said she used to always get sandwiches delivered poolside, but both the bar and the management said they don't do that. ("Since when" she asked? "Since always," they answered!)
3. The food at night was styled as "fine dining" and priced as such, but the quality was low for both our meals.
4. The bedcover was very faded, the room small, and the tv not very new at all.
5. The pool is a bit small and homely.
6. We had to buy an adaptor for my computer, although they did refund the money at checkout.
7. At breakfast, we (and other guests) had to constantly ask if the juice would be refilled, if there would be more of this or that, etc. The waffles were like a plastic dog chew-toy and the eggs more like egg soup.
8. With hardly anyone else in the bar or at the pool, our order for two drinks took half an hour.
Most all of this could be taken care of by a more attentive management, but perhaps they don't care. With other locations to go to (at least in other cities if not in Arica), why settle for merely mediocre?
We had wanted to try Iquique - but the Hotel Terrado Suites were all booked. Perhaps it was by all the people fleeing Arica?
For the record, the place was clean, and it was not a nightmare situation. I loved being away with my girlfriend, and the hotel didn't really get in the way. I mean, it is on the beach, the food sustains you, the bed's ok, and the TV works and all. But we did find ourselves scratching our heads again and again as to why any management team would run a hotel like they seem to be doing at the Panamericana. This was supposed to be the best hotel in Arica, and it felt like they were going through the motions.

This was the worst hotel we stayed in on a recent Chile trip. The room was small, with no place to put luggage, and little space between the beds and walls to move around. There was one flat pillow on each bed, with no extra pillows or blankets. The room felt dirty and run-down, an impression that was confirmed when a large beetle flew out from under the bed covers when one of us was getting ready to go to bed. The curtains were thin and let in light from street lights. Traffic noise was also a problem until about 2 a.m. Front desk was surly and unfriendly. Definitely not recommended!

Very poor maintenance of the room I was in, the door was difficult to get through, you probably had to force it, the bathroom door didn't close properly. I found ants in the bathroom every day and also the first day in bed. Because in the north the drinking water is not of good quality for drinking, they should put a jug of filtered water last. Siqueira, the minibar had bottled water, only two empty glasses. The dirt parking lot, although it doesn't matter that it didn't have a roof, but they should have a better place to leave the car. The only thing I highlight is the view of the pool and the attention of the people, who were very friendly.

Excellent: attention, kindness,
Cleanliness, perfect air conditioning. 24 hour security
Breakfast is the best to start the day
The beaches next door. And swimming pools with towels.
Hat more positive details like the bar, its restaurant, all gourmet dishes. And at a good price
What better!
Super! It's not enough to say.

We stayed there for three nights. Five stars please not even one. Like most people we agree decent location. The room was awful; smelly, small, and dirty. Toilet didn’t work, the bedspread were filthy and wooden handmade furniture painted in ugly green,,, brrr,
The staff unfriendly on the first night we asked to be moved my husband left his Panama hat, we have enquire many times only to be told it has been lost. No apology
The restaurant- we had waited 45 minutes for lunch finally we cancelled the order.
Do not recommend this place at all, please stay in different place.

Hotel is the best in Aria.
Wonderful staff in reception area as well as room cleaning. Have to contend with management that is lettiing the property ran down. Half light-bulbs in hallways burnt, paint peeling in the rooms, bed linen and covers need a change. Chairs in the bar are so old and dirty one would hesitate to sit there.
Food service excrutiatingly slow, the maitr'd is AWOL, nowhere to be found and correct problems.
The Hotel manager wonders around the property greeting people, with no clear sign that he works there or that he is there payting attention to all the details gone wrong he should be trying to fix.
They have little competition so I guess they can get away with this..
Wish they'd care more and with little extra effort bring the hotel to a higher evel of cleanliness and quality.

We had an excellent time at this hotel. The location is amazing and as far as I know, this is the only beachfront hotel in the city. First we stayed in the regular rooms but then we decided to try the “cabanas” to enjoy a different experience. The cabanas have A/C and overall well equipped; located in front of the beach and the surroundings are very calm and relaxing.
The bar lounge and restaurant are very nice and the food was absolutely gorgeous. The Hotel also has a big swimming pool and a smaller one for kids, beach volleyball, tennis courts, mini golf and a many other recreational areas. I would definitely recommend people with kids visit this Hotel. There is also a recreational team that takes care of your children during the whole day… it’s like a mini Club Med.
Every hour there is something new going on in this Hotel, we really enjoyed our stay there. Overall the Hotel is very clean and safe; the staff is nice and friendly and you won’t have problems with the weather because it stays warm all year long.

This is one of the few hotels on the seafront in Arica and is a little out of the city, but it is a short taxi ride or a pleasant enough walk with Playa Laucho on one side and El Morro on the other. To compensate for the distance it has a lovely position, overlooking the ocean and dominated by EL Morro to the north. A good well located pool, with pleasant staff, although you might have to go and get them rather than they come to you. Some of the rooms can be a little tired, but reasonable for the price. The most convenient place to stay in Arica by far and I would not consider staying anywhere else.

Hi, Oh Yes. Arica has almost the same weather all year. Always warm, some cloud in the mornings and practically no rain.
"The Cabins a great for families but they are open plan rooms so if you are a light sleeper maybe seperate rooms would be better"Read full review
