I spent five nights at Hotel Regina Resort participating in a UNESCO Education Conference. We were quite a crowd, and basically took over the hotel; therefore, I could not comment on it as a vacation spot. There seemed to be a number of swimming pools, a gym and a disco, although the weather was too cold to swim (even in the heated pool in the house in which I was booked), and I didn't see the disco operational while I was there.

During the conference, the meals were excellent: well presented and plated; however, the night before the conference I had supper in the same restaurant, and the food was well below an average standard. Perhaps they had a different chef that night.

The meals routinely comprised two kinds of meat (always beef but sometimes pork or chicken in addition), a beautifully designed salad and some kind of carbohydrate. The service was spectacular - all the wait staff coming to a table at the same time, carefully supervised by a member of staff whose job seemed to be to ensure that the service was special.

My reservation about the resort was the room to which I was assigned: I was booked into a large house (clearly meant for visiting families) called Fever House that could sleep 10 comfortably. The house was on the resort compound, but was separated from the rest of the resort by a surrounding wall that had one door in it - and for which the three people staying in it each had a key.

The livingroom/diningroom/bar/kitchen/breakfast room ran the length of the house (I paced it off - it was about 40 feet long) and was beside an indoor heated swimming pool. (I did not have a swim suit to test it out). The house was large enough to warrant its own Internet address.

The sleeping accommodation was on the second and third floors. My room had two twin beds, a dressing room and private bathroom, as did another bedroom on that floor, and the third bedroom had three queen sized beds and a very large bathroom attached to it. On the third floor, there was a large sitting room that ran the length of the house and one bedroom with twin beds in it, a private dressing room and bathroom. Clearly, this house was not meant for so few people, but apparently the resort was full for the conference, and so, I didn't have a choice.

There was one telephone for the house, which was beside the front door, and allowed the occupants to call Reception. This house was very isolated and the communication arrangement was less than satisfactory. For example, the only time someone needed to contact me, the Reception called the house, but I was far away from the telephone and could not hear it ring. Apparently, Reception sent someone to the house to look for me in person; however, whoever came did not realise that one had to come inside the yard and the house and upstairs for anyone to hear him/her. Altogether, the accomommodation was not ideal.

Because the weather was very cold at night, I had to ask for a heater, which Reception kindly arranged - along with extra blankets.

Overall, the staff were helpful, the food was good, and the service exceptiona,l but my experience with the accommodation was not good enough for me to recommend the resort - except to someone who was plannng to stay with a large family.

We stayed there for the JW Convention in Cochabamba. The staff went above and beyond to make it an excellent experience which made it a five star experience! I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Cochabamba.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights as part of a team meeting. I really enjoyed it. The food was really good (especially the breakfast buffet). The food service was a bit slow, but they were all very nice. There are many different pools, which is perfect if you want to relax or if you have kids who want to play. The resort is quite far from the actual city and the airport, so not ideal as a starting point for seeing tourist attractions.

Thank you Amanda for your comment, and we are gald to hear that you had a good time at our hotel. It is true that we are 20 minutes away from the city, so we are working in a plan with tourist guide agencies to have more facilities to our guest, so you can have a great stay in Cochabamba as a whole.

The trip began well until a cash guarantee is required upon registration. I travel very often (before COVID 19) and have never had to pay cash. Since we traveled with three elderlies, we rented a bungalow for 5 days, since we wanted to socially distance. Breakfast was overcrowded and very few safety measures were taken. The last night, the hotel rented the bungalow to a group of kids who partied until 7 am. Music very loud, no use of masks, cero social distance. When we asked the receptionist to please ask the people in the adjoining bungalow to turn down the music, I was told that there was nothing to be done because the bungalow is considered private property. Needless to say, my aunt who is suffering from dementia became agitated and we got cero sleep. The next morning, after complaining to the manager, we were offered a 10% discount on the last night, but decided against it afterwords since I had posted negative comments on different social media. Very mature move of the manager 🙌🏻💪🏻. We paid $300 per night and received No apology whatsoever (don’t care about the money, but I do care about social responsibility and accountability). I will not stop to make my comments to prevent people from visiting this hotel. @Hotel Regina Resort & convenciones.

This resort is still under construction and very few of the facilities that are described under their website is available. They claim to have 7 pools, jacuzzi, etc. In fact there was only 1 pool available and they claimed that the Jacuzzi is broken. It took them a whole day to figure out the Wifi in the rooms. We only stayed there on night and when we complained to the administration in terms of the amount to pay, we were told that they would call the police if we did not pay what they asked. I would not recommend this hotel based on really bad service, unpleasant staff, and misleading advertisement

I went to this hotel with my family and I was certainly disappointed.
Firstly, the lights of my room were broken the first night, and all the pillows were totally dirty.
The breakfast table was full of flies and nobody took care of it.
The playground had no lights in the night and it was not secure for children because there were a lot of construction materials that stayed there during my 5-day stay.
The wifi in the rooms doesn't even work. Furthermore, the pool times are very limited, the inside pool can only be used until 8 pm, even in summer. Also, when we were leaving, the roads were blocked and nobody in the hotel informed us about that situation.
The only thing that keeps me from rating the hotel as terrible is the inside pool which is very clean and has a good size.
However I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience there.

The hotel is in a nice location, and the pools and facilities are good. The problem we had was that the service was bad. There is no bar for a start, and no room service, but aa very expensive minibar. The power in my room went out due to a faulty breaker in the wall and I had no electricity for three days. Luckily I was working every night till late, and came back, negotiated room with a flashlight, cleaned teeth and went to bed. That is reall unexcusable. The wifi does not work in rooms, and is very slow in lobby. So they really need to get their act together and it could be great.

It is not a 5 star hotel. Not recommendable

Positive:
Big and confortable rooms and accommodations (specially swimmingpools)

Negative:
Bad services in general.
Unfriendly service people, maybe because lack of training?
Food is like eating in a fast food restaurant
You can't pay with credit card.
It takes lots of time if you ask for anything like a taxi, room service, cleaning service.
We found plastic glasses in the main swimminpool.
Taxis can not enter into the hotel at night, the security of the hotel tell you to walk, even if your room is 1 or 2 blocks far from the entrance.

They can make much better with their buildings and facilities, they just need to care more about people.

We stayed for four nights as part of a package birdwatching tour of Bolivia. From the moment we arrived we were impressed by the friendly helpful service from all the staff. Our rooms were spacious and well furnished, with views of the surrounding mountains. There was a good selection of meals from the menu, and the quality and quantity was always very good. For some of our stay a local dispute had resulted in roads being blockaded. We were impressed that the staff had slept in at the hotel overnight as otherwise they would not have been able to get to work. They helped to inform us of the road situation, we were lucky to be in such a comfortable hotel for our enforced stay, which we spent in the well maintained gardens. These made up for the fact that we were well out of the centre of Cochabamba. There are other hotels with the same name in Cochabamba which may cause confusion.
