A charming place right in the center. Go see the hidden museum in the basement. Room was like visiting in the palace. We didn’t want to leave. It’s clean and well kept.
Price was just right for the budget. Breakfast had wide variety including a fresh egg prepared by on the spot.

This is an absolutely beautify hotel. Every corner is perfect for an Instagram picture. No wonder many couples choose this place to take their wedding pictures.
The service was excellent. No matter what you need, they will try their best to make it happen. Just ask. The owner was also on the property all the time to make sure the guests receive the best services.
Try the restaurant definitely. With the quality of the food and beautiful decor, I was surprised that it was not crowded. The fish fillet was the best I've had in Sucre.
I simply love this place!

The location of this gorgeous hotel is great as it is within walking distance to the main attractions in touch. The room is spacious and clean and the food here is nice. There is a mini museum in the basement of this hotel too.

Located in the heart of the old city center of Sucre, beautiful old buildings with several courtyards, terraces with some nice views over the city, a nice rooftop bar and a small spa with jacuzzi.

The rooms are charming but a bit outdated, you feel the dust of the old days… they need some renovation. For example the heating is not very good and it gets cold so you might need an extra heater and an extra cover. In the bathroom the hairdryer didn’t work.

Breakfast is taken in a nice room, but it is most of the time very chilly there. The food choice and quality are very average.

Staff is friendly and helpful. But be aware they are not very fast so sometimes you need to be patient.

Probably one of the better options in Sucre, but not on a five stars level. Hopefully they can improve these things as it has the potential.

This is a charming property, akin to the classic hacienda. The public spaces are lovely. But the rooms need some updating. The mattresses sag, the closet had only four hangers for two people, the safe did not work, and the grout around the tiles in the bathroom had a lot of mildew. My biggest disappointment was that we had a room on the third floor direclty under the roof deck, where there is a bar. We had metal chairs up there scraping across the tile floors until 11 am. And a neighboring property has the thump-thump-thump of loud dance music going from about 6 pm to about 11 pm each night, which was clearly audible in the room. This is a nice property, and apparently the best in Sucre, but it needs some TLC.

The hotel interior, rooftop terrace, and basement rooms are beautiful and historic. Unfortunately, the rooms have issues.

The smell when you first enter the room is that of chemicals- such as insect spray. The bathroom continually smells of sewer, but the intensity waxes and wanes. My doorknob was broken and the door only worked by the key. My safe was locked so I couldn’t use it.

There was no way to heat or cool the room. My room was too hot. I could hear other guests talking until after midnight. My first morning the shower went from warm to completely cold while I had shampoo on my hair. To get hot water in the first place, I had to run the tap for nearly five minutes. In a city that is predicted to run out of water by 2050, this is criminal (install a hot water circulation system!).

There was no lotion provided and only two towels. The hot tubs were empty; I was told you needed to schedule them. I saw three cardio machines but no yoga mat/stretching area.

I did not sleep much; I couldn’t wait to leave.

Fortunately we had 4 nights in Sucre in this stately and traditional parador with its beautiful space, levels and charming terraces with views of the city. Our first floor room was very spacious and comfortable with lots of traditional furniture. The main square of Sucre and most of the key sights are just round the corner. In spite of being in the heart of the city, there was no evidence or awareness of this inside this lovely building, dating from 18th century. The owner, Sr Rodriguez, introduced himself on arrival and was a friendly presence throughout. He took great pride in showing us the small museum, beautifully presented, with many interesting cultural objects and private dining area. Breakfast was served in the elegant dining room and was excellent. We had snacks in the cosy bar on our first evening. A gem of a hotel with just 23 rooms.

I am staying at this hotel right now. I can't deny that the hotel is beautiful, the property is more or less well-kept and the staff is kind and helpful. Yesterday, I brought to the front desk's attention an issue I am having and asked to speak to the manager but for some reason know one contacted me back or reached out to me. I am writing this post in the hope that someone will advise on how I can contact the owner of this property.

I am giving this hotel two stars as no hotel who doesn't care for their guests and not address their concern in a timely and proper fashion should get more than that.

It is a shame that this place does not live up to a high standard of guest services that would be expected from the “best” hotel in Sucre. Very disappointed.

Pros: excellent location, beautiful colonial layout, clean rooms, gorgeous and modern rooftop bar/restaurant

Cons: bathrooms smell bad (makes the entire room smell bad), included breakfast is not good (bread and pastries were stale, coffee was undrinkable, very limited options), the gym is very limited (3 cardio machines), hot tubs were empty, steam room was not working (maybe upon request?).

Expensive for Bolivian standards. Did not feel I got my money's worth.

Granted this property is historic, but it is need of serious attention. It's ideally located near the central square, which is just a few blocks away. The lobby is small and charming. The hotel has a charming courtyard with many of the rooms surrounding the courtyard. The rooms are quite dated, and the beds are sagging and creaky. My major complaint here is the noisiness of the rooms. You can hear even the quietest guest walking by. On the plus side is the charming rooftop bar.
