The Arabian Courtyard Hotel & Spa garners varied feedback; while its location is consistently lauded for convenience to shopping and local attractions, opinions on rooms differ—some commend their cleanliness and comfort, yet others point out maintenance and lighting issues. The hotel's atmosphere is often described as welcoming, with an enchanting Arabian decor. Cleanliness receives both acclaim and criticism, and the value proposition is debated, with mentions of reasonable rates alongside grievances about hidden fees. Our group stayed three nights at the Arabian Courtyard. We enjoyed the decor of the hotel and felt that we were in Arabia! Location was great with easy access to the Sheik Muhamed Cultural Center, and the markets, and the little boats crossing to the Spice Market. All the staff in the restaurants and lounges were great - special party at the Shelock Holmes Pub was fun, smiling staff in the breakfast room and chefs were great, and Mr Perez and the front desk team were outstanding, professional, and helpful - my apologies for forgetting names. Security Man Simon was everywhere helping, assisting, and welcoming - what a great addition to the team!

We stayed at the hotel from 30th December to the 3rd January. The hotel is lovely, yes a bit dated, but very clean and the staff are lovely. I was travelling with my children and 80 year old mum. We had rooms located opposite the swimming pool to the right of the building. We were picked up from the airport by the hotel at 1.30am. When we got to our rooms, to get some much needed rest after travelling for over 10 hours, we were met with loud music blaring from the nightclub behind the hotel. In the morning I complained about this as we didn’t get any sleep till 3am, I was told it was only on at the weekend. This appeased me until that night when again we were kept awake till 5am. The staff ummed and ahhed about contacting the nightclub but I don’t know what happened. The following morning I visited the reception area many a time to get a room change. By this time my children and I were shattered and my mum was feeling ill. I finally got a room change at 3am on New Years Day. This was my only negative point. So if you want to get some sleep please ensure you are on the front or left side of the hotel or on a high floor.
Breakfast was good – a variety of dishes and the staff were so courteous and lovely to us. If you take a left out the hotel there are lots of shops and restaurants. Take a right and follow the road for 10minutes and you get to the metro. A daily pass is 22 dirhams which is equivalent to £6 (uk). We travelled to the Mall of Emirates and Mall Dubai from here, it was quick and simple. My son travelled to Dubai Marina on his own, just be aware that if you are a male and on your own, don’t go into the carriages marked women and children as you can get fined. Across the road from the hotel is the Dubai Museum, worth a visit, it might surprise you. If you follow the road down and to the left you will come to the souks, hindu temple, water buses.
We were lucky to see the fireworks at the Burj Khalifa but getting back was a nightmare. That is a tale for another day. The Burj Alarab is also worth a visit. We went to the Global Village which was so vibrant and fun with lots to see. Dubai is clean, safe and the people are lovely. You can eat very cheaply in restaurants in the side streets or the Mall. Leaving Dubai and seeing the Burj Khalifa standing so magnificently in the horizon at sunrise was a sight to behold.

We visited Dubai for New Year, then went on a cruise, we booked 4 nights at this hotel as part of the package. On arriving at this hotel to be honest we very quite worried as it is in Bur Dubai which is less glamorous than the beach area, But do not judge a book by its cover, as once inside the hotel, we were reassured that it was going to be a good stay, rooms very a good size, comfortable beds and nice bathroom, we never opened the curtains as the view outside was again not pleasant. The pool was small but nice, the area small with not many sunbeds so you would have to be up early to get one, a little bit of a sun trap if you get the weather! It had an indoor jacuzzi which was payable and changing rooms, it also has a small gym. The hotel has a chinese restaurant and it does takeaways but to be honest it was not very tasty however The Sherlock Holmes pub was really good, food was fantastic, drinks are expensive and no happy hours on as it was New Year but normally they do have them on, we went to the Fishermans Hub pub which is part of the hotel for food which again was fantastic and drinks, their happy hour is 12-9pm! There is a small cafe in the hotel. Breakfast was adequate not like the UK obviously but enough to start the day with, Staff at the hotel were amazing, from the cleaners to reception to waiters, reception staff, but for us the pool staff were very attentive. The hotel is a very good base for getting about, even as far as Jeremiah Beach and the Atlantis, there is a metro station 10 minutes walk from the hotel which we used a lot and it's very cheap. There is a KFC 5 minutes walk away. My advice when you arrive at this hotel is to look what is inside and not the outside, although we felt very safe walking about, plenty of handbags etc in the shops round about if your looking for bargains. Enjoy you wont be disappointed. Don't forget to join Dubai groupon to get plenty of offers for Dubai while you are there, saved us a lot of money especially the Friday Brunch with house beverages!

On arrival the lovely Night Manager on reception, Steve, informed us we could not have access to the Executive lounge as we have only a booking for Exec room only? Impossible as this cannot be booked without the access. Expedia was our agent.
He gave us our “exec room” which was awful with a view of roofs. I refused so he gave us a family room with a creek view which was more pleasing. Next morning I spoke with a manager called Tamer, who was most unfriendly and no smile from him. I explained it all again and told him I have emailed Expedia. Later that day he told us “it’s all fixed, you can have access” no apology nor explanation. Very poor customer service especially from a manager, thankfully All other staff were lovely.

After all the bad start to our trip it then turned out that the executive or VIP lounge is so not worth the money.
Breakfast consisted of tea or coffee with revolting dry hard pastries or muffins. That’s it!!!! After 6.30pm you can have 3 hard drinks as it says on the advert, what it fails to say is that the measure is 10mls of alcohol 😳. Yes! 2 teaspoons of spirit times three.
The snack foods at night to go along with the drinks were okay.
If we return, it won’t be with any executive lounge access. Pathetic!!

Like a previous writer has said there was no hot water to shower, occasionally there was some in the morning to wash in but not for a shower. Tepid showers were not what we hoped for.

The bass booming music from the “nightclub” on the premises called “Addictions” went on until 4am every night. Earplugs didn’t help which was a shame as the beds are very comfortable. This was the hardest thing as we had very little sleep.

The vicinity the hotel is in is really good, we so enjoyed the shops and South Indian restaurants behind the hotel, we had breakfast and dinner in them everyday.

The hotel is clean but tired, staff are so lovely and we would consider returning but management need to address some issues to enable guests to have better value for money.

Not a large swimming pool but adequate dip pool for winter. A lovely hotel that can only be improved. A week was too long living with the loud music and no hot water.

Awful awful awful, shame on Booking.com allowing such hotels to false advertise. Took me 45 minutes just to be noticed at reception to check in, once got to my Deluxe room, the room had no ventilation and absolutely stunk of damp and alcohol. I had to call laundry team 5 times for my laundry to be picked up however I ended up taking it to them myself, I could not use the TV because the remote control had no batteries and having called reception few times, no hope. No shampoo, no soap in the bathroom, I was promised the laundry will be delivered back to me next day at 8am, having called them 11 times and finally received it at 11:46, unfortunately a roof tile fell on one of the guests and had to be rushed to hospital ending up with internal bleeding. Apart from the concierge which was helpful, unless you spoke their language, rest of staff did not care and did not want to know. Breakfast, well had to walk out and eat something outside the hotel. I had originally booked for 4 nights but only stayed for one night and knew that I will not be refunded but was ok with it just to get out of the hotel was a bonus. If your looking for somewhere dirty, disgusting and worse then cheap then this is the hotel to go to. The furnitures where old and very uncomfortable.

Please ignore the website, ignore the advertisement on this hotel, booking.com your also to blame for allowing people to have bad experience.

I had checked in the hotel on 16-Oct-2021. The room had a lot of challenges. Some of them are:

1. Wifi not working
2. Telephone not working
3. Water continously going in WC

After struggling for the whole day with no rsolution, the hotel people have offered alternate room at 12:00 midnight.

The room offered was stinking and smelling of cigars. AC was not working. When reported, the technician who came said that the room smell is like a perfume and he finds no problem at all. I felt the remarks embarassing and moved back to the initial room.

I spent the whole day in getting the issues addressed with no resolution.

I have to still be here for 3 more days. The hotel management has to resolve the issues.

My deluxe room faced the Dubai Museum. It was spacious, well-appointed and comfortable. Firm bed and pillows, great AC and hot water. Room safe and small refrigerator as well. The Aster Jubilee Medical facility, a short 10 minute walk away, did my PCR test and emailed me the results the next morning. The hotel does not have a business center, but the front desk staff happily printed my certificate and other travel forms. Nice pool area and workout room. Location is excellent, a short walk from the souqs, the water taxi to Dehra, and two metro stations on the green line. Several excellent supermarkets near the metro stations as well. The #8 bus leaves from Al Ghubaiba and runs up the coast toward Palm Jumeirah. Buy a Red ticket from a metro station for unlimited rides that day - great value. Breakfast featured a rotating assortment of south and southeast Asian specialties, plus eggs cooked to order, some fruit and vegetables and delicious fresh juice. It is not a steel and glass structure, which abound in Dubai, but you know you are in the Guif and I found it a great place to base oneself for a week long stay.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel before joining a cruise at the beginning of March BC (before Covid-19). We arrived early from an overnight flight from London. Reception was friendly and an early check-in was available for a small fee. Great service from the staff throughout.

This is a perfect location away from the high-rise towers to experience old Dubai. An easy walk to the Old Creek, Souk and museum. The room was comfortable and quiet. We didn't want to explore after dark so had dinner first evening in the Sherlock Holmes English Pub which had a reasonable menu. We did try the Pharaoh Restaurant one evening which was fine but we were the only ones dining so back to the pub the following night.

Good memories of the world as it was.

Having stayed twice before we decided to stay again, that was a big mistake! On arrival the receptionist wasn't friendly, insisted we couldnt use a different card and had taken payment as we arrived costing us £15 transaction fees, but strangely he could use the new card for the taxes? The room we were sent to was meant to be an upgrade but the view was from the back of the hotel and was just of rooftops and not pleasant like the one from the front of the Dubai Museum.
The room we had also had a spare made up bed even though there where just 2 of us, it was in front of the desk, which was then unusable.
The room was dirty with thick dust everywhere, by the bed, skirting boards etc. The toilet was leaking. We couldnt make tea as the kettle only had a 2pin plug instead of the 3 pin plug needed for the uk socket.
My wife cut her fingers on the bin which had several sharp edges the replacement wasn't much better either.
We did change rooms, in that room there were problems with the electrics being uncovered along with poor maintenance or lack of maintenence.
In the executive lounge while we were having breakfast we noticed they were rinsing the plates, cutlery etc, by hand and drying it up. The cloth looked very old.
There were discounts of 20% on all restaurants but on arrival in the cafe it wasnt offered, in Sherlock Homes we were told it wasn't available even though its on the rear of the room key and in the lifts.
The Chinese Restaurant is very expensive, it was empty, the main course was served before the soup which was supposed to be the starter.
We had paid for Bed & Breakfast, on the last day they refused a refund of breakfast, instead promising breakfast in the downstairs cafe, all it was was orange squash, a few stale pastries & croissants. It took 20 mins to get a cup of tea and burnt toast. Not recommended.
The Swimming pool was good although it slopes suddenly which is dangerous. Also they charge to use the Jacuzzi.
Management aren't interested and non of the staff seem to know anything.
Unfortunately we have decided to find another hotel on our next trip to Dubai.
It certainly is not a four star Hotel by any means.

I booked 2 rooms, 1 for my husband and I and the other for my friend that travelled with us. At the reception desk, I was told that only had 1 room booked instead of 2 but then I produced an email to show 2nd room was also booked, after this, things were fine. Therefore I would suggest taking a printout of your booking with you to check in!

We booked room only as we wanted to check out the breakfast on offer first. Breakfast was buffet and they had various options both American and Arabian. It was about 58 Dirham (£12.50) but with discount voucher from hotel reception, you get 3 Dirham off. This included breakfast juices too. It was a lovely breakfast to start our day with!

Checking out was smooth but be prepared to pay hotel tax of 15 Dirham (£3.20) per room per night.
