Ok I returned yesterday and am going to do a totally honest review. Good points Arrived and checked in was quick and easy hotel reception staff spoke great English and a bank for changing money there also even there lots of cash machine on the mean street. Room if I say basic I mean basic really dated a tv bigger than my house but was ok didn't go to watch tv, beds were comfortable shower was always hot and room service lady was great . Ok pool area is ok we np getting a bed but come July when hotel is busy and there other part of hotel opens it b sunbed wars ,they need more bins around the pool. The beach is fine but again np getting a bed but July August I hate to try. The bar at the beach had a fridge that did cool drink so it was near gold no ice and remember the drink isn't good so bring ur own r buy in duty free at there airport honestly u will need to if u want something u like . The cocktails well let's say u get the same 1 no Matter what u ask 4 they make 2 but omg after a nite r 2 un drinkable wine I had rose but with some lemonade on a plus have coke and Fanta. Ok food rite I really don't know we're to start let's say not for the uk people in any way breakfast mmmm ok a egg boiled chef made omelette every other morning but was raw in middle the toaster was a wee 2 slice thing definitely uk guests will struggle and kids . Lunch and dinner dry chicken veal every nite dry fish rich salad really only catering for locals the soup I lived on with bread roll u can even get a glass wine with dinner u had bring it in from the bar worst food I ever seen and I not fussy eater in any way only nite there was some nice was a evening a local football team was stay o then it was different. This hotel isn't really for uk holiday makers is definitely more for locals and unless they up there standard alot to cater for use uk guest we will not return. Ok the staff they are amazing only for them it been horrible they go above and beyond ok a tip helps but same every were from cleaning staff bar staff reception and the entertainments 2 kimo and didi who work long hours still always smiling are holiday wouldn't been same we had nice time weather was great but never return to this hotel definitely pay little more and go else were

We’ve just come back from a great week away. We’ve met some lovely people and will keep in contact with some and meet up again. I’ve got a mixed review so I’ll do pros and cons Pros The staff are amazing, friendly and helpful in everything, from the serving staff to the cleaners, the receptionist and Mino the entertainment guy. French bowls on the beach, darts and a fun friendly atmosphere. It’s a short walk to the beach where they have security making sure only guests get in and out of the hotel. The security man on the beach will bring you over a chair or sun bed so you can relax. There is fresh pizzas cooked in the restaurant and lots of different salads and omelettes cooked fresh for you at breakfast. A coffee machine as well as coffee in a big urn. Lots of fresh cakes and puddings and if you want to try local foods you’ll be happy. The indoor pool is clean and warm. There’s an outside bar by the pool and games you can play if you ask for the equipment.
Cons This is sadly not a 4 star hotel I would say more a 2. It could do with a refreshment to say the least. There is a good amount of food available but it’s repetitive, if you like beef you’ll be ok 🤣 not a great option of fruit, just oranges.
All in all for the price you get what you pay for. If you want sun, beach and you’re not a fussy eater you’ll be fine. The staff are wonderful and if you want to make friends this is a good place to stay.
If you can get a private transfer from the airport as it’s much quicker.
If you like animals go to the zoo

Hotel is admittedly dated, however for me that adds to it's charm. The bedrooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Not sure if there is air conditioning as we slept with the balcony door open so didn't need it. Plenty of hot water. Rooms serviced daily. Reception was always staffed, with bureau de change facilities. The foyer is large with plenty of seating. The bar is an open area just off the foyer, where smoking is permitted, so the foyer can carry the smell of smoke. The restaurant is self service, food is freshly made and plentiful. Watch out for the harissa ( blows your head off!!). Unusual for me to to eat at the hotel but not a problem here as good clean food. The staff were, without exception, lovely. The staff on the transfer coaches were exceptional, as we had been delayed they ensured we got to the hotel safely. We arrived late and the bar staff served us soft drinks even though they had closed, we were escorted to our room. The concierge were very helpful, and the following day we booked a camel ride excursion with the hotel staff. The waiter each evening couldn't have been more helpful and the chef cooked us fresh crêpes on our departure date even though the restaurant hadn't opened, as we left very early morning. There are indoor and outdoor pools, and it's a short walk to the beach. All facilities were clean, and serviced regularly. Short trip by taxi into Sousse, concierge warned us to beware the scammers claiming to recognise you from the hotel, trying to sell you spices and jewelry. Irony being the spices are a bargain compared to UK, but don't fall for accepting everything they try to sell you, be firm!! Our trip was one of simplicity and relaxation, we certainly achieved it. No idea what the entertainment is like, and didn't frequent the bar but heard no complaints from other people. The animation crew had full engagement from plenty of the guests around the pool. There is no WiFi on the 5th floor, which was a relief, but decent signal in the foyer. I thoroughly enjoyed staying here and will come again!

Arrived via EasyJet and their TTS transfer service and the travelling was absolutely brilliant, arrived in great time and was very pleased with the hotel on first arrival. The reception staff were extremely friendly and very helpful, connecting us to their Wi-Fi immediately stating that it was too expensive to use your own provider and to put your phone into Airplane mode, this has saved us a fortune as my internet was £5 per mb and £1 per minute for calls either way. Once a simple form was completed and the £10 tourist tax was paid we were shown the hotel room and then directly to the restaurant where we were greeted by even more smiling happy faces with very kind comments about our family. We felt like we were royalty, treated to table service for everything except the all you can eat fantastic choice buffet food. The food is great, the kids loved the choice, chicken, veal, fish, Turkey and more veg than you can eat, all beautifully cooked and nothing was wasted on our plates. The sweets and pudding selection was a little limited but it is January end of season so nothing to complain about to be honest as we paid very little for our holiday. Now the room had 4 single beds, air con, a sea view and was spotless, a little date but ver clean. The staff who cleaned were extra friendly providing towels and shampoo whenever you asked but there was plentiful amounts included every time they cleaned. All other staff and entertainment were brilliant, it was very quiet but they all still made a fantastic effort to make our holiday special.. I am still here writing this review and would have no hesitation in returning to this location with its private beach, beach bar and I have to mention the best indoor heated( yes heated to 31 degrees) pool I have had the pleasure of using. It is January so the outside pool was a bit cold for me but never the less available to use with its water slides and mini kids club outside. If you want a bargain holiday then this is for you and your family, it’s not the Hilton but the staff certainly make up for any shortcomings of the area or hotel. Highly recommended by me and my family xx thank you Royal Jinene and everyone that works hard there xx

Pension horrible in all respects. air conditioning is automatically set to 30 ° and is too boiling. room service passes every 2 or 3 days. sanitary facilities are not cleaned by room service. no water collector at the sanitary level which makes them submerged all the time especially with the leakage of the shower which was not repaired throughout the stay (7 nights). sanitary facilities do not have ventilation and extractors are out of order in all rooms of the Pension. sheets were not renewed throughout the stay. no stove, jel shower, toilet paper and soap throughout the stay. no telephone at the room level. no internet at the room level of the corridors and the restaurant (connection is only available at the reception). The reception and common areas are not air conditioned. no mini bar, no kettle, no hair dryer at room level. no smoke detector at room level. We booked a room with a double bed but we had two separate beds and the beds are wider compared to the mattress by about 25cm which makes a gap between the two beds of more than 30cm. the elevators are often broken down and worse still the sides are not reported and elevator A does not have an SOS telephone and the alarm rarely works. there have been several cases where people were stuck for hours in the elevators and went out in a hysterical state especially at night. I myself reported several cases of blocking people that I heard screaming and banging on the exit door. the pool is very small and is shared between the two Pension Jinene spring and Jinene royal beach. unethical staff, nasty and insolating. regarding the restaurant, it is catastrophic. the same unvaried menu repeats itself throughout the week (rice, pasta, boiled vegetables and three types of meat in sauce with often very hot sauces) and the rest of lunch are served at dinner and similarly the rest of dinner is served at breakfast. the buffet concerns only salads the rest is served by waiters who do not give you too much choice of what you want to eat (they serve you only one loach and if ask you a second, they show their dissatisfaction). the common sanitary (at the level of the pool, reception and restaurant) are in a catastrophic state..... hotel null in all respects no hygiene, no safety or comfort.

This is without doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, in my entire life. When walking down the hall it looked like it had never seen a vacuum cleaner ever. Saw what looked like someone had been sick and never been cleaned up. Entered the room to a dirty room. You would have thought that during changeover day it would be immaculate. Immediately went downstairs to change rooms to be told that it couldn't be done until the following day as it was currently fully booked and until changeover they couldn't do anything. Promised that someone will be up to clean the room on that day and no one turned up. We were finally moved to a different room which had hair all over the floor and no matter how many times we asked the maid to sweep it up she never did. Not once during our stay did she clean our room and we had to ask her for change of towel. We saw a woman during dinner service putting food into bags obviously there to test the food which didn't in still us with confidence. Bearing in mind that it was all inclusive our waiter had a real problem if I wanted to go up and get a drink myself as they had the smallest glasses possible a couple of gulps and you was ready for another one. I wasn't impressed overall with the food so much so that on the last morning I didn't have anything as I knew in the next hour after the coach to the airport I could get some edible food. We had an excursion and another guy who came along with us said that every time he comes back to the hotel he has to ask them to open his door as they wouldn't give him a key for some reason and he would wait up to 40 mins. We tried to stay out of our room as much as possible by going to the beach just any else other than our less that depressing surroundings. The chairs were all stained even the dining room clothes were stained and unwashed. Tunisia has a big cross as a country that I won't be returning to because of this experience.

Hello! My name is Andra and I came from Romania. I have been travelling around the world, and I have seen many places, stayed in different hotels. I know that people use to say unpleasant words about this hotel, but for me it was incredible regardind the money that I paid. The food was good, you can always go safe and eat turkey meat for lunch. For me it was the best I can get for the money that I paid. The room was spacious, more beds ( 4) , big balcony, big bathroom and a spacious wardrobe. The ladies clean the room every day. I did not givee tips. My roomate gave 10 dinars in the beginning because she heard it is better, but they changed towels everytime I asked. If you want glamour go somewhere else, if yo want a quiet and peacefull vacation go here. Do not get fooled by the loby. Yes, it is old furniture, but the rooms are excellent, in the **** hotel. There is always way to improve, and they seem to make efforts. have a pleasant stay. Anyway evertything is based on perception, so depends on your filters. Andra

I’m not really sure where to start!!! I ignored thecreviews before we travelled and deeply regret going! The one thing I can say is we met some amazing people who I now regard as friends. On arrival we had to wait till 14:30 to get our room key (that was only because I was badgering the receptionist) Room appeared clean and tidy, until day three when the cockroaches started appearing in the bathroom! Yes they moved our room which again appeared clean and tidy until our final night when the cockroaches joined us again! The room did have TV but no English channels so was pointless! There was no fridge we had to ask to get a fridge! FOOD- I’m gluten free and don’t eat spice so I’m use to not having much choice but I had no choice nothing on the buffet was suitable for me to eat without upsetting my digestive system we spoke to the chef and he did accommodate my needs and cooked us a dinner every evening but there was nothing palatable for breakfast or lunch!
The toaster !!!! I’ve thrown better toasters in the bin!!!
The pool area was filthy has not been cleaned in months! The pool itself most days looking from my balcony had a greasy film on it and you couldn’t see the bottom!
The beach needed a good clean up bottle tops and cigarette butts. Only beer and soft drinks at the beach bar and plastic throw away cups if you’re not drinking beer!!!

We arrived at Hotel Royal Jinene last week for 7 days. Upon leaving the coach, a nice man collected our bags. The entrance and lobby is nice, with lobby bar. They put us in room 206 first, which had a view of rubbish filled wasteland and dirty nappies on the roof below!! We immediately asked to change room! The next day they put us in room 502, which was alot better, sea view and pool view with balcony. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is terrible! Carpets never been vacuumed, toilets disgusting. The food is quite limited, but I actually really enjoyed it, breakfast very basic, lunch & dinner very similar each day, but food is good. Bars are basic, weak draft beer was nice, the spirits are local brands but not too bad. They 99% of the time dont have coke zero, just full sugar. Pools, inside closed, outside was good, depth 2.3m, slides are small but ok.
Wifi, average coverage in the lobby and rooms, not near swimming pool.
The guests are mostly Arab Muslim, they are extremely rude and unfriendly! Luckily there were a fair few brits.
The local area in the streets is horrendous, litter literally Everywhere! Dead cats, dead birds, and the feeling of absolutely not being safe! The private Beach, is nice, a bar and nice seating area, But the beaches either side are covered in litter!! Real shame, don't understand why the locals don't help clean it up!
The entertainment (Animation) Girls Eyaa and Lulu where just amazing, so lovely and Freindly, they really helped making the holiday brilliant xxx
Avoid The Ally baba man! The excursions are awful!! On a bus for 1hr each way for a 15min ride on a restricted quadbike!
The AC as advertised, was all turned off from beginning of Sept!
Overall, you get what you pay for!! It's not 5 stars, but I did really enjoy it , and Eyaa is lovely 🥰
