Although we only had one night in Bihac, this hotel made for an excellent stay. I read some Google reviews about cleanliness issues but I had no issues. There was some carpet staining but I felt like the sheets, towels and bathrooms were nice and clean. The room looked out on the river which was wonderful. The way the windows angle, the river-facing rooms have two views. I would say that the mattress was a bit on the soft side but I still got a nice night of sleep.
The breakfast was very good - with hot and cold items. I have a feeling there are generally more options but since there were very few guests in the off-season, I was glad there was a buffet overlooking the river. Apparently there is a fitness center but I didn't see it. I just went for a run in the beautiful environment.

We didn’t stay at the hotel but ate at their restaurant. The food was hearty, good prices, and the waiter was kind and charming. We had a view of the river with cool breezes, we really enjoyed it. When he served us our huge sampler platter he said, “Welcome to Bosnia!”

Stayed here while visiting a professional colleague. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Delightful views of the river. Comprehensive breakfast buffet offering tasty choices of hot and cold and sweet and savoury choices. Ten minute walk to the centre of town. Will definitely return.

Our stay for 2 nights at this hotel has been disastrous . The rooms are fine and not bad but the air conditioning was really bad and made the room so hot and sweating that we could not even sleep. On asking about problems they said that this is what it is and nothing could be done also we asked for fan they said no we couldn’t provide that and we had to stay for 2 nights without air condition

Food is very good, but staff is little bit unfriendly. Excellent location. The setting is beautiful, the sound of the river, birds and greenery all around you. The prices are very affordable, and the price-quality ratio is excellent.....

Lovely location on the river Una. Good sized room, and clean shower. Plentyful breakfast, and coffee was fine. Great to have coffee and breakfast on the river side. Conference room was far to hot and I possible to cool, but airconditipn in room worked well. Not the best service we have seen from reception staff. Only possible to have one room key, which is ridiculous.

Hotel Opal is very nice little hotel with everithing you need. It is located near city center. There is free parking and wifi. Staff is very professional. Hotel is very clean. There is Sauna, gym, and massage room. Food is outstanding. View from restaurant terrace on river Una was superb. I will go again.

We had a couple of massages and the masseur (Edmina) was fantastic. Prices for the wellness centre were good. The afternoon front desk receptionist (Mirela) was fantastic and very helpful. The view of the Una river from our room was excellent. The hotel is walking distance to the centre of the old town where there are lots of good restaurants. The room was quiet and the air conditioning was good as was the WiFi. The breakfast was sub standard so we had to take our own supplies and pay for coffee as the black goo that was supplied with breakfast was always cold. The breakfast manager needs some serious hotel management training and the cook couldn't boil water. Parking was inadequate and our car was scratched by a long lunch customer who that that it was acceptable to back up until he felt the dump of something behind. What is with half sized doona covers? The pillows were also a bit hard. The gym equipment was not commercial grade and most machines did not work and were covered in cobwebs. The morning receptionist must hate getting out of bed early as she was very unhelpful and was only interested in talking on her mobile phone. We had to ask twice to have our room floors vacuumed as there were dead spiders on the floor for 2 days. None of the bathroom supplies were refreshed including toilet paper which we had to request as we ran out. Staff need some serious training but it looks like the senior management have no formal hospitality industry training. The GPS co-ordinates provided are about 100 meters away.

Excellent service, interior design and location. Great food! For detailed review, read on. LOCATION: very good. Close to the center of the town, but you have to find your way to the hotel through some narrow streets and not too attractive part of town. Some building and construction in progress near by. But on the other hand, once you get there, you enjoy a perfect view of the beautiful Una river, and during warm days, you can eat on the open terrace just above the clean, green, cold water flowing right beneath you. They can even provide you with a small boat so you can row across the river by yourself. During the col days, the terrace is enclosed by glass so you can enjoy the view, but still be warm and comfortable. ARCHITECTURE: exterior is nice enough, but nothing to be remembered by. Very decent. Interior: stylish, bordering on luxury, nice details, nice combination of wood and stone, good furniture. ROOMS:spacious, excellent design, perfect bed, comfortable, free wi-fi, excellent sleep quality, flat-screen TV with a very good choice of programs, stylish, excellent view of the Una river, no traffic near by, clean air when you open the windows. BATHROOM: spacious enough, modern, has everything you need, comfortable. BREAKFAST: fresh and tasty food, good choice and variety. PARKING: free, maybe limited in capacity when the hotel is crowded. RECEPTION STAFF: very polite, expedient, eager to help, always smiling, capable. CHECK-IN and CHECK-OUT: quick, no fuss at all. CONCLUSION: An excellent hotel with a very good location, great food and great staff,definitely recommended to everyone.

For the sake of fairness, I have decided to update my review as obviously either they changed staff, or we were lucky this time :-). We were disappointed by service on last stay, but decided to stay again due to convenience of location. Have to say the ladies at the reception ( if I recall well Mirela and Amra) were just perfect hosts and even organised for us a small party. Great ladies :-). For them - rating is excellent, but overall still for hotel - lower.Management shall turn on heating when 2C degrees are outside.
