Michelle is the ultimate host. She has her eye on every detail and anticipates your every need. The studio apartment had very comfortable bedding and towels (just like a Marriot). The shower pressure was great and the washing machine and warm towel rack was much appreciated. Although small, the kitchenette met our needs and was well stocked with utensils, cups, plates, coffee maker etc. There is a secured lovely terrace with plants that is nice to sit out in the evening with a drink. Unfortunately for us, it rained most days and we could not take advantage of it as much as we wanted to. The location can not be beat. Walk outside, cross the street and you are in the middle of Green Market. The Palace is right next door. Around the corner from the apartment is a supermarket and 2 very good bakeries. The ferry to other islands is within walking distance and easy to get to with your luggage. This is a superb location and the apartment is clean and inviting. Do not hesitate to book or spend more time looking elsewhere. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay and would book again on a return visit. Thanks again Michelle for making our stay a memorable one. We made a great choice staying at Emperor’s Suites. Michelle is a very nice host, speaks perfect English and offered some good advice on restaurants and sightseeing. It’s also very close to the centre of town so walking everywhere is very easy.

We had an awesome stay here. The amenities are more than one would expect. The classic furniture and chandeliers are a nice break from cookie cutter hotels. Lots of nice art hanging on the walls. The washing machine and European drying rack allow you to wash your clothes part way through your vacation, and travel carry-on. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked. We used the sauna to help dry our clothes. Michelle met us at the apartment. Make sure to triple check on Google earth exactly how to get here, though.

Convenient location. 10 min walk from ferry depending if you know exactly where you're going and what alley to turn down. 10 min walk to Diocletian's Palace (walled city with shopping, restaurants etc, no entry fee just walk in). Property secured with locked gate, room secured with door locks and in-room safe. Michelle greeted us upon arrival in the tiny "courtyard" (small community table with couple of chairs). She was super friendly, perfect English, fantastic recommendations plus directions on a map. We wish we could have spent more time with her!!! The room was fancily decorated (see photo). Kitchenette with microwave and mini fridge. Bathroom clean with shampoo/soap. Cool air conditioner running. Check the boiler level to make sure there is hot water ready for your shower! Definitely recommend, would do it again!!

We were met at the apartment by Michelle who showed us round. The apartment was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. It had a small kitchen area with a washing machine, hob etc. The bed was very comfortable and the WiFi and air con worked a treat. The apartment is in easy walking distance from the bus station/ port and the main town centre. Michelle gave us recommendations for dinner (which we used and it was lovely!). My only complaint is that we couldn’t reserve the apartment when we return to Split as it’s already booked! In summary - lovely apartment, extremely clean and well maintained close to everything.

We decided to stay at Emperor Suites due to the close proximity of the rooms to the boat and ferry terminal and the Diocletian’s Palace. It turned out to be a great choice. Easy to find, 3rd narrow lane on the left going up Kralja Zvonimira, opposite Hotel Luxe. We had pre arranged to meet Michelle there as rooms are behind a locked gate, she gave us all the required local info on fruit markets, grocery stores, bakeries and restaurants. We enjoyed Kod Jose the best. Our room was neat and clean, facing the courtyard out front, on the small side but this is Split, not the Serengeti. The room contained a small kitchenette with coffee maker and hot plate for cooking, bathroom has a small washing machine. Overall, a really perfect place to stay in Spilt, best location and fantastic hospitality, highly recommended.

We only stayed here one night. Michelle was a great host. Communication was prompt. The place is roomy and has two showers. It is within walking distance to the Diocletian Palace, Riva, market, and the Marian Park.

We were lucky enough to stay at the Emperor's Suite that is located just inside the Silver (East) Gate. Misel, the owner, met us at the bus stop and led us to our apartment and then stayed quite a while giving us the rundown on the apartment as well as Split in general. This space has been recently renovated and they have done a super job. It is a small space but tastefully done and does not lack for anything. The kitchen is well stocked (she even provided milk and butter), a huge shower, and even a washing machine (which we took advantage of). We really felt like we were a part of the inner city and staying inside the walls was a huge part of that. Misel stated that she wanted us to feel like we were at home and she succeeded to the nth degree. We loved our stay in Split and in particular the Emperor's Suite. And Misel, you could not have been nicer. Thank you.

Fist of all, I have to say that Michelle was fantastic. We stayed in the apartment that is shown as the main photo of his property - the two room/two bathroom ground-level apartment with mainly red and black decorations. By reading the reviews of this property, it is clear that the other apartments are very different. This one is outside of the old palace, but very close and an easy walk. Michelle met us at a parking lot near the apartment and walked us there - we would never have found it on our own. It is up a narrow alley and through a locked gate. It is an apartment, not a hotel, so there is no reception and no housekeeping. We were there for a three night stay. Michelle oriented us to the apartment, gave us a town map, and pointed out some tips for nearby restaurants and shops. She was warm and welcoming. And then she left us with the keys, and we were on our own. The apartment is quite large, with a big sitting room that also includes a small dining table. We did not use the room for dining, but found the table great as a place to organize our days, write in journals, etc. A small kitchen was equipped with coffee, tea, and jam, and had a small fridge. There was a grocery store just around the corner, along with two bakeries, so getting food for breakfasts was easy. One bathroom had the toilet and sink, a shower, and a washing machine. The other had a shower and a small sauna - we did not use the sauna, but it could be a great feature if you are so inclined. The bedroom was pretty small but fine. My biggest criticism of the apartment is that due to the way it is situated, on the ground floor and as part of a line of attached buildings, there is only one window in the entire place that opens to the outside - and that is in the bedroom, where a window opens on to the small alleyway. We did open it to get some fresh air, but given that it opens on to the ground level of the alley, there is no breeze to help the fresh air get in, and it does not penetrate any further than the bedroom. Being used to fresh air, plenty of light, and views from hotel windows, this came to feel rather oppressive over the few days we were there. Still, we did not spend that much time in the room as we were there to sightsee, so it was not a big deal. It seems that there are many apartments of this type in Split, much more common than typical hotels. The price is reasonable, and the location is quite convenient.

The location is excellent, just a short walk anywhere, including the Ferry Terminal. Our flight arrived late however, Michele was so kind to meet us so late to check us in. The apartment is very good size, very clean, w/d, microwave and dryer. There is a dry sauna in the second bathroom. 24 hour shwarma around the corner made for a great late night snack. Don’t forget to scratch St. George’s toe! Highly recommend Emperor’s suites.
