Visited Plaza Patilla Inn several times during my visit to Panama City in October and November. This is a historic hotel with cylindrical architecture build in 1975. It was remodeled PrePandemic. The rooms vary and some have an ocean view which was clean, offering all amenities, well appointed with breakfast included. The A/C is 10/10. The hotel is situated in Patilla, away from the main road, Avenida Balboa, yet offering you wonderful views of the Ocean and City. The housekeepers do a great job cleaning the rooms. The breakfast was a delicious buffet(and optional), with outdoor sitting and an ocean view. It is a full service hotel with Restaurant, Bar, Room Service, Gym, Spa, Hair Salon and Pool. You can walk to many venues from this Hotel. Thank you Plaza Patilla Inn for making my stay a great one. This hotel is a great location in the City where many locals are repeat customers. Will be back!

A very attractive hotel that we can recommend without reservation.
Our room was spacious and clean, the king-size bed was comfortable and the view of the bay was fantastic.
The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout.
The breakfast was varied and fresh, egg dishes were freshly prepared on request. You could have breakfast both indoors and outdoors. The dinner, which we attended once when a Panamanian evening was offered in buffet form, was plentiful and very good.
The hotel itself is well located, in a safe neighborhood and close to the promenade on the Cinta Costera, which you can also walk to the old town (approx. 4.5 km). There are various restaurants nearby and the Multiplaza Panama, a large mall, is about 2 km away.
The hotel also has a free car park (located behind the hotel; there is another public car park in front of the hotel for a fee).

Traveling as a couple, we stayed 7 nights at this hotel. We had a bay view king room on the 16th floor. Upon entering the room, the view was breathtaking. The large windows protected by two rows of curtains, veil and occlusion both electrically controlled. The spacious room, very well equipped and very clean with fridge, coffee maker and large cable television, international channels. The optional lunch buffet was very complete, one of the best we have seen. Like all central hotels, you can hear traffic noise at night. Nearby, there are several shops. The only point to improve would be to provide towels for the swimming pool. If we ever come back to Panama City, we will book this hotel again without hesitation.

Rooms: they are fine and clean Location: great Staff: unprofessional and rude
If you work in the hospitality industry, especially in a hotel, please expect to meet people who do not speak your language fluently. If those people try to communicate via other means such as apps, hand gestures, or Google translate do not ignore them. A simple smile or attempt to communicate is the best approach.... basic customer service skills.
For the manager: if a guest tells you a member of your staff made a mistake or told them they were to receive a service but they did not do not escalate the situation by being defensive. The best approach is to ameliorate the situation.... again, basic customer service.
This place would be fine if the staff were professional.

I understand that they have just remodeled the rooms which turned out very well but the reception and some areas of the hotel are still old which makes it look a bit patched up. The buffet is good but limited and the person who served us at reception was not very friendly. They need to improve in several aspects to offer a quality experience.

The hotel was a bit of a shambles and musty in the room. We had no hot water available over three nights and requested numerous times to be fixed to no avail. We also booked an early morning breakfast pack with reception for a tour we were doing and they forgot to order it . We had the free breakfast one morning , it was plentiful but basic quality. Only saving grace was the comfortable beds.

Good hotel, despite being old, room spacious and clean. Repeat breakfast and few bread options. But lots of fruit. Well located easy access to walking on the coastal account, the hotel has restaurant and bar for dinner or lunch.

The view of the sunsets every night was amazing. The complimentary breakfast is my only complaint. They didn't serve bacon, sausages or any non processed meats. My 2nd best part of the stay besides the sunsets, is a 2 mile beautiful open run/walk/bike path right outside the hotel entrance, along the Pacific Ocean

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights in December and we booked our rooms using booking.com. As a travel agent I know that direct bookings are always better but the rate found on booking.com was much better. When we got there, the reception staff (Clarence I believe his name was) did not want to honor our room, stating that even though there was no way our room description said "bay view" because those rooms arent offered on booking. com so I pulled up my reservation and showed him exactly what the description of the room we paid for was, a Sea view. He was very argumentative and his lack of professionalism was even noticeable on the way he dressed. I really didnt even think he was the receptionist, I though he was maybe doing some repair or something behind the desk. After a few minutes back and forth, we finally got our sea view room which to my surprise it was very clean and spacious. The decor was nice and modern, it looks like they invested money on updating the rooms and hallways but the hotel itself needs a lot of work. This hotel was built in the 60s and it shows! the a/c units look rusty and moldy on the outside, the restaurant decor looks so old and the pool deck, although nice, it could use a little TLC. Overall it was an ok stay, I wouldnt stay there again despite its good location.

We’ve stayed here twice now, and we like the hotel and location, and the price. It’s close to the ocean walk area, stores and the big multi plaza mall. The rooms are renovated and very clean. They have blackout curtains that are automated on a wall by the bed, which I loved. The views from the room can vary but if you pay a little extra you can get a view of the ocean. City view was fine for us. They have free outdoor parking ( not secured but ok. The free breakfast was good, and the dining area overlooked the ocean which was really nice. Staff were great. Highly recommend for a Panama City Trio.
