Value
It is where the city is the most vibrant, in the heart of all the action, that Mama has settled down. Its 125 rooms with 5-star bedding, designed by Jalil Amor, line Ulica Kenza Mihajla, the capital's iconic pedestrian street. Mama never forgot that Belgrade is an important city in Southern Europe, and has incorporated this part of Belgrade's identity in the menu. You'll find alongside the dishes elaborated by Michelin-starred chefs, true Italian, wood-fired oven baked pizzas, perfect to share at our communal tables. When the sun finally sets, Mama and her monumental rooftop - 500m2 of pure outdoor hedonism - welcome all of the city's partiers. And since Mama thinks of everything, she's included an underground parking lot on Uzun Mirkova street, under the Raijceva Shopping Center, where the Mama Shelter is located. The bonus features of this Mama: live concerts, shows, DJs, a Mama gift shop, foosballs, movies on demand, a fire pit... The credit/debit card used to guarantee the booking or make the prepayment will be requested at check-in.

A very trendy hotel in the heart of Belgrade, the best location to explore the wonderful city and escape from the bustling centre.

All the staff are effervescent and very friendly, with a great vibe and energy.

The hotel has an awesome design, it's quirky and fun and sparkling clean throughout

It is very family-friendly, with free arcade games, table tennis, loads of books, and soccer tables for the kids to entertain themselves.

Our room 'Large Mama' was very spacious, with a massive balcony overlooking the beautiful Kalemegdan Park from level 1, and we were spoilt with sunset views.

A restaurant is located on the top floor with a fabulous rooftop bar and dining to enjoy the magical sunsets of Belgrade, the best we have found in the centre.

Great value and quality cocktails, incredible food, pizzas were divine and live music regularly to soak up the city energy.

Other benefits for hotel stays: located inside a shopping mall, onsite parking, surprise treats on check-in of biscuits and juice for your stay, a great range of guests from tourists, travellers and locals, mixed-aged groups, and laptop friendly.

Located on the fourth floor of the mall, access can be tricky if you don’t know how to get there. Main elevators stop on every floor but you exit right at the reception. They also have a side door and private elevator which is far better to use (after you get a key card). It’s a trendy hot spot for sure. Good scene on the deck with music, ping pong, foosball, lots of TVs, DJ most nights. The room itself was trendy but it wasn’t the best maintained. Originally we were supposed to have a two bedroom but when we opened the door, the room smelled like sewage. So we switched to a one bedroom. I didn’t notice it at first but one of the AC vents emitted the notorious Belgrade smoke smell from it. I think it was remnants from the winter smokiness that enshrouds the city. We debated whether to switch hotels, but the convenience of Mama won. But if we were going to stay longer than we did, we would have switched. The restaurant is happening but the food is “average”. Good place to watch football matches and meet up with people but the quality is just ok. Servers were friendly as the front desk.

Another positive of the hotel is you can rent mifi’s for 5Eur a day which is really helpful if your phone doesn’t operate on the Serbian network.

Our first time in a Mama shelter hotel....We enjoyed Belgrade as a city destination, and the experience was only added to by staying at a super hotel. It,s relaxed ,casual atmosphere is backed up by superb, professional staff. Each and everyone, from bar staff, waiters, reception, cleaners all, without exception went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. In these difficult times, all staff wore masks, and the covid precautions were adhered too,but it did not alter the great vibe around the hotel. The rooftop bar was a great spot, the food was very good. Breakfast was of a very good standard, with plenty of choice.
The hotel is in a great location, in the bohemian quarter of the city, numerous bars, restaurants and shops within minutes walking.
Thank you Mama shelter.....keep up the good work, hopefully we will pay a return visit !!!

I had a very nice experience staying at the hotel. Everything was fantastic starting from the hotel’s location which is at the heart of Belgrade around all major sights. The hotel is located inside of a shopping mall on the 4th floor. It is great to have a lot of shops (including a grocery store) right under you. The tricky side of it is that it is kind of complicated to get to the hotel, especially late at night, when the mall is closed. But the hotel has its own separate entrance and elevator from the side of the mall, you can use it day or night to get in and out.
The hotel property looks very nice and updated, I liked its design a lot. The hotel has a great restaurant with very tasty food and many meals on the menu. I personally tried to have breakfast and dinner, and all the food I had was very nice. Also I liked the outdoor area which the hotel has. There are beautiful views from there. All hotel staff were always helpful, but I wish their attitude was a little bit friendlier, some front desk guys should smile sometimes, their faces were not happy and even looked annoyed from time to time.
The room (# 405) I got was big and decorated very cool. I loved having big panoramic windows, which allowed a lot of daylight inside of my room. Plus, I had a really nice park/city view. The King size Bed in my room was very comfortable. The closest was big enough to fit a lot of stuff. For negatives, I can point out the super small refrigerator, which was already mostly filled with the hotel’s snacks and drinks. There really wasn’t enough space there for my own drinks. Also the safe could be bigger. The bathroom in my room was big. The shower stall was very large. The thing I did not like was the bathroom amenities, because there was no shower gel or shampoo. The hotel uses a soap that doubles as a body/hair wash, which I personally did not like at all and had to buy my own shower gel and shampoo to use. Hotel’s Wi-Fi was working extremely fast for the entire stay. I also used a laundry service once where I had my sweater dry cleaned. I payed only €6 for that, and they did a nice job.
Finishing up my review, I want to recommend this hotel for a stay in Belgrade. I am sure you will not regret it, and you will be very happy with the quality of everything.

Visited mama shelter for a new year trip with friends. The room was excellent - really comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The location is good - easily walking distance to things in the centre, entry is oddly through a shopping centre but was generally fine to get in and out. Buffet breakfast was good and the pick up pizza was nice! Would recommend.

Dear vinny, Mama is thankful for your lovely review and recommendation! She is happy that you enjoyed her beautiful room, dishes prepared with love and location. Since we are located in the shopping mall, one of the entrances is from their main entrance. As a hotel guest, you can also use a hotel entrance elevator from Kralja Petra Street. Our staff at the reception will be more than happy to show you this entrance next time. Mama is looking forward to welcoming you again. Mama ❤️ You!

The hotel is situated on top of a rather new shoppingcenter. The room we had was nice, overlooking the backside of the shopping street. Being on the fourth or fifth floor triggers som quite good views. This also goes for the huge roof-top terasse. That is where you hang out, even if you aren't staying at the hotel. But. In a hotel of this price rage there shoud be at least some drinking water in the room, since the tap water is undrinkable. Secondly the service is of too low a standard. Lost of staff all over, busy talking to each other.

: Dear Reumert, thank you for staying with us and for your time to write the review. We are happy that you loved our rooms and our rooftop terrace. Please be informed that the tap water in Serbia is safe for drinking and that Mama is restocking the mini bar from November, so you can always have bottles of still and sparkling water in the room. Over all, Mama is very sorry to hear that you did not have a perfect experience since that is our goal for every guest. We do hope you will give us one more chance to improve your impressions. Thank you in advance for that opportunity. Mama ❤️ You!

Dishonest reception manager, after changing the room three times still didn’t wanna let me change the hotel and cancel my stay for the last two tensing nights, even after booking called them telling them they would be ok with it. And then still blaming Booking.com for it, very dishonest. Hotel is in a shopping Center with very poor isolation, no real lobby, no facilities except a very small gym with only one machine to train the muscles and a lot of noise and food small, stay away!

During Easter Holidays we decided to stay in Belgrade, as opposed to getting stuck in traffic leaving the city. What a fantastic idea! View from the balcony of the room 509 was spectacular! This is the best view and location that Belgrade has to offer - overlooking the biggest park, but right in pedestrian/shopping zone.

We stayed in Mama Shelter with our 1 yr old. And even though the hotel looks funky and as if designed with youth and partygoers in mind, it is actually super child friendly. Baby cot that we were provided was BabyBjorn (the best out there), feeding chairs were super cute and clean, and most importantly, staff was fantastic in their interaction with our daughter. They made sure that she got an Easter Egg, and she received loads of genuine smiles and banter. Breakfast had a great selection, fresh juice juiced upon your request (big thumbs up for this!) and great coffee. Everything one needs to set you up for a day in the park, nearby Zoo, or shopping.

Najtoplija preporuka i za Beogradjane, svako ko moze bi trebao sebi da priusti da odsedne u hotelu sa ovakvim pogledom na Kalemegdan, reku, mostove...

Special memories <3

Friendly people at the reception. The hotel is located above a mall and in the middle of the old town, it also haves a good parking downstairs. The elevators are very slow since you have to share them with visitors from the mall. The rooms have great beds, but uncomfortable chairs. Also the shower is very nice, but you have to bring your own soap/shampoo since they only provide hand soap in the bathroom. The breakfast and restaurant is not that great. A nice stay, but for the price you pay, i think there are better options.

This is one of my favorite hotels in Belgrade for private and business purposes. The interior is very stylish and modern, the choice at the breakfast buffet is very big and various and it's delicious, the room is designed with love and there are a lot of occasions which put a smile on your face during your stay. The rooftop bar and it's view are stunning. And the service is great! Always love to come back again.
