Detailed Reviews
Stayed for one night only to have the security bang on our door when we exceeded the time for "visiting hours" which was at 9pm. Is this a hospital? Then when we got back they told us that the booking of the room is for 2 people with a king sized bed and 2 singles and we have to pay extra $30 per extra. We paid for the room. This is daylight robbery. Why do we have to pay for extra people and at that rate? This property is just looking for money. The lady at the reception is rude and needs to be fired. Unfriendly. Not even worth staying there. Better to stay on the streets. $230 I paid altogether. Could have checked into GPH and got top class treatment rather than this rubbish dump. Reap off. Constantly calling telling us to tell our visitors to leave in the evening. In the morning, they called at 10:17am telling us to get ready for check out which is at 11am. Never have I ever been called to check out even at 5 star hotels. What is this? Staff were rude, grumpy and abrupt. Room was very basic, beds 100 years old and not covered properly! Linen was rubbish and the burners didn't work. Total waste of time and money! Shame on you.

Worst time you will ever have I promise. Indian lady at reception who has been working here for decades is a very very stubborn and unpleasant woman? Talks to even children like their are some kind a puppet for her. Ruined my whole morning by yelling at my kids not to take a ball in the pool. Imagine everything else would be like you are smarter than choosing this place. You basically not allowed to do anything but just stay in your room, and oh......God forbid if asked for the TV or ac remote, than you see the real fun....lol
Whatever setting the ac is and channel TV is you are not allowed to touch.

This is well below budget accommodation. Totally run down and old. Everything needs a coat of paint or in dire need of upgrading. The staff were fine and helpful, but unfortunately everything is about getting more money out of you. Also sad 5o visit Suva to be told it was not safe to walk anywhere after dark and to take cabs for even the shortest distance, very dusty off putting to be adventurous at all and such a shame to think tourists are targeted as easy money.

This hotel, located 700 m from the bus station and the lively district of Suva, offers studios equipped with a small kitchen, a beautiful terrace overlooking the city and the sea. The rooms are large. The reception, open 24/24, very friendly, was helpful in calling the next hotel whose number was incorrect. It is possible to buy milk and other breakfast products.

We stayed here on 2 different visits to Suva. Both times we had a room on the top floor which we liked. The staff is helpful, and it is an easy walk to get to the heart of downtown Suva with its many restaurants, shops and tourist sites. The swimming pool needs tile repair, but it was refreshing on a hot day.

Good location, helpfull staff. No facilities to pay except cash, room spacious but smelt strongly of mould. Bedding old and tatty and smelt funny. Bathroom ceiling covered in mould, tired, shower handle falls off. Microwave rusty, internet almost unusually slow.

Check in was easy and fast. The two bedroom room deluxe was given to us was very disappointing. On the second floor right at the end. As we enter, yes it was renovated, no balcony at all to enjoy views where as other rooms had balcony.
As we sat on the bed, there was blood stains on the master bedroom. Reported this to reception to address.
Ashwina the old Indian lady was so lovely and welcoming. She has been at that hotel for years. Negative the cleaners need to ensure the sheets and everything is clean. The reception and security staff are welcoming.

I have stayed in the Capricorn on several occasions for business, and hope to stay there again. I like it mainly for the location to downtown Suva and the kitchen facilities. It is a short 5 minute walk to the the MHCC Complex (grocery store, food court, shopping), and a short walk to the movie theatre. The rooms are spacious, have a balcony, some with a view of the harbor, and some rooms have a couch and desk. They have a full size fridge, small gas stove, toaster oven, and kitchen utensils. It also feels pretty safe - they lock the doors to the hotel at night, and have someone there 24.7 to let you in.
The downsides: The tv gets only 2-3 channels, and the reception can be pretty bad in some rooms, with lots of static. Don't stay here if you watch a lot of television. The front desk controls which stations you are watching, so you could be watching a game on ESPN, and have it switched to the Fiji1 news with no notice. I have also seen roaches in the rooms on several occasions, and ants will come in pretty quickly if you leave food out on the counter. Don't stay here if you can't stand bugs. And while the deck has nice comfortable lounge chairs, the tile on some of the decks have a black sooty material that sticks to your feet, and then tracks the black soot into the room. Some of the rooms seem to be in better condition than others.
The hotel has a computer with internet access available, but charges quite a bit. There are much better deals at the internet cafes in town.
I would recommend this hotel if you are traveling for business, like the location and price, and don't mind the downsides listed above. I would not recommend it for someone on vacation in Fiji.
There is also a Capricorn Hotel in Nadi, which I have not visited. If you are looking for a nicer (but more expensive) hotel in the downtown area, check out the Holiday Inn, which is located on the other side of town.

Very unfriendly people. Disgusting rooms. Smell piss of pussycat in the full resort. Everything broken or doesn't work including toilets. I went their with my wife and had a terrible dispute with her as she makes me responsible for this terrible choice. We had to move to an other resort and loose the full prepaid week on this ugly waste.

Watch out. Stay away. Cancelled well within(2 months) and they are still abusing my credit card. Had to cancel with a loss. Choose anything else. This are not serious people. Had funny emails in June when booked, and immediately cancel,ed. still am having endless charges despite having not set my feet in Suva. A perfect nightmare
