We booked for 2 days and paid $260. The room was pathetic, sofa and chairs outside were torn, pool was filthy.
The worst experience in my life!!!
We requested for a refund and also filled in the refund form and was told to get it by Friday, and now upon follow up I'm finding out that they have nothing submitted.
We gave our refund form to Adi (receptionist)
The receptionist were rude.
I just want someone to look into the refund process

Response from Rusiate Naulivou, General Manager at Studio 6 Apartments Fiji
Responded 19 Jul 2023
Malo Bula from the Yatu Lau Hotels & Conference, formerly known as Studio 6 Apartment. We are saddened by your previous experience in January of this year 2023. We wish to assure you that we are more than happy to invite you back to our newly renovated rooms with a much difference from your last stay. We wish to take ownership of the laxity and rudeness of our receptionist. However, we won't be tolerating this kind of behavior. The Team at Yatu Lau Hotels & Conference had been briefed in making sure that all guests received a courteous and exceptional service at all times. On behalf of the Team at Yatu Lau Hotels & Conference, we hope that you will revisit us in the not too distant future. Malo Vakalevu.

What a great dissapointment.

This motel has gone down.

New manager who does not care baout customert service.

Stayed 15 days. Had a rodent problem. Kept complaining. Nothing done. When I wrote a complaint she responded we are dealign with that.

Are well when you are paying a motel you should not have a rodent problem.

This used to be a great motel (see previous post). Would no longer recommend it. Very poor

i booked a family room and standard connecting room 5 months prior. I chose the hotel because it was very close to our Conference venue.the day checked into the hotel, the lady at reception told me that i have a delux room ready. i told her i dont need a deluxe an i had booked the family 5 months prior and have confirmed a few times over the phone. She said that the family i had booked was occupied. i was losing my cool as i had driven from the Western side late that evening. The receptionist called her boss and i spoke to her over the phone.she offered me the deluxe room for $90 and she said the rate was $140.00. I was getting mad. I asked her, how can the family room and a deluxe room be of the same rate when the family room could accommodate more people and have more facilities? anyway, Suva hotels was jam packed because of the Hibiscus and other Conferences happening at the same time. Reluctantly i agreed to stay at the deluxe room for one night. Their $140 room was disgusting. Bed linen were in dire need of replacement. Then i heard from my friends who were staying in another deluxe room that the rate was $90 and not $140.00. i was more disgusted. How could the boss lady (could not remember her name) lie to me about the rate just to save her face? i am not staying in this hotel again.

We stayed here last year as we booked one of those family rooms with an adjoining room which was supossedly supposed to be locked as we had to pay an extra $80 if we wanted to use it. The brochure said it had a flat screen but to our dissapointment it was one of those ancient box TV sets with no remote and as it was perched high on the wall it was such an effort to reach out and change channels..Cutlery wasn't all there as it was a self contained room and guests supposedly had the option of cooking inhouse..On the friday night whilst we were fast asleep , there was an intruder in our room..we woke up shaken of course as we found our iphones and cash missing..Front desk had initially sold off the adjoining room to 4 local indian guys who were drinking beer and they gained access into our room cause the adjoining room wasn't locked either by housekeeping or suspisciously it might have been a planned job both by staff and the local drinking party that booked the room..we put up a report at the local Police station at Totoga but they were'nt of much help either as they had let those booked into the adjoining room off easily..We weren't compensated by front desk either..We had always booked into here years before whilst it was run by a Gujerati but since he had sold the place , we have realized their standards has taken a nose dive and it's now equal to any of those cheap motels around the locality..Bed had bed bugs and the linen were dirty..Not booking into there ever again.

My husband and I and his family have stayed three times at Studio 6. We have booked a standard room and also a bedroom with double bed and kitchen and lounge. We get value as we are paying with Australian dollars against Fiji dollars. The equivalent size in Australia would be quite expensive. Last time was next to the pool, this pool needs some maintenance and when the pool man is absent another staff member trained to keep it clean. The staff are very friendly. The housekeepers came everyday to change sheets, bath mats and towels. You need to ensure your linen etc. is given fairly early they wash their own, limited commercial laundry facilities in Suva. Only let down with this is we booked a couple of years same room and the sliding door to the bathroom is still broken and checking bar fridges for old food items is a good idea. Annual pest control will solve cockroach problem but we had no problem with cockroaches. The back of the hotel is surrounded by large trees and undergrowth towards Queen Elizabeth Drive therefore you will get some insect life and it is a tropical island!!!.

We were here November, 2013.

I am giving this place 2 stars because the people who work there are very friendly and there is air conditioning, Other than that Studio 6 is a total dump. We traveled from Savusavu which took about 12 hours and were exhausted and starving when we checked in so just dropped our bags and left to eat. When we came back it was too late to either move rooms or check out so we were stuck staying in this cockroach infested dump. i woke up in the morning to find 3 cockroaches on my toothbrush. The bed sheets had stains on them, the bathroom was moldy, and the room was in such a poor condition. There were literally hundreds of baby cockroaches all over the place and I even found a few in my suitcase. Ive been in Fiji for 5 months know and know what $105 FJD can get you and expected SO much more from Studio 6. We were in room 505, maybe some of the other rooms are better? But I doubt that.

We took a large group to Studio 6 and all rooms had issues:
* Air conditioning not working and when it was meant to be fixed they had to come back again to fix it - ended up shifting one couple 3 times.
* NEVER given enough towels for the number of occupants.
* Phones and money stolen from locked rooms.
* The rooms with kitchenettes never had enough utensils - cups, plates etc.
* We asked to see the manager who never showed.
AND to top it off half the group got bitten by bed bugs!! One young boy needed hospital treatment! DON'T GO TO STUDIO 6! THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU!

We arrived on the morning of our family event only to be told that staff were still washing the table and chair linen from the previous night. Luckily we brought our own family members to organise and set up the room since staff members on hand seemed to have little to no idea of how to assist us. When we advised that the linen was not only dirty and creased, but damp, the response we received were blank stares. Some of the chair covers were torn on the side while the colour of table cloths were more greyish in tone than white. We had to ask on several occasions for the carpet to be vacuumed since there were still bits of food and what have you from the previous night's event. Eventually a staff member went through the hall trying to "sweep" it clean.

The money paid to the hotel for our function was not worth the tired looking hall, it's dull decor, and poor service. We had to make the best of what we were given through our own hard work in a relatively short amount of time (the program began at 2pm).

The end result of that we achieved was purely through our own efforts and determination to set a messy looking hall into something presentable enough for our family reunion. Our experience with Studio 6 was very disappointing and this was regrettably compounded by the fact that the money paid was not worth what we received in turn.

Having been in the hospitality industry for several years I know that turn-over time between functions can be a hard thing to manage, but the level of incompetence and disorganisation was as much a disgrace as the unclean state of the hall and its facilities.

I do not recommend Studio 6 to anyone who organises a private event. On the surface it may look somewhat presentable, but you only have to scratch a little to find it disorderly as well as "unclean" to put it in a nice way.

How disappointing! I am not really sure if online booking for Studio 6 works or that the staff are fully aware of its usage but it would be safer to at least print out a document from the web that is available that contains all the details of your booking and have them checked it with their system. It's likely that the staff on-duty during your booking may not communicate the details to whoever's taking the next shift. From experience, I have tried booking for hotels online in Fiji and it worked plus I was able to provide them with the booking references and documentations. Given the number of available accommodation in Suva, I am sure you are able to secure another one soonest!
