Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

To say this resort is tired and rundown is an understatement. It’s clear that no money has been spent on it post Covid. There was no Beach BBQ, the coffee shop and ice cream hut look abandoned. . We stayed in a Beachfront Villa and it wasn’t like the photos. We had mould in the shower and housekeeping barely cleaned the room. Our toddlers feet were constantly black. It was unfortunate that Cyclone Mal went through during our stay. We were ill informed and strangely staff boarded up the vacant rooms but wouldn’t board up our windows even though we had two children under two. The outdoor bath was unusable due to the dirt and debris from the cyclone and nobody cleaned it up. The resort lost power and their generator malfunctioned. Each staff member would tell us a different story. After 17 hours of no power, no room phone, flat mobiles, no shower, a blistering hot Bure and two cranky babies who couldn’t sleep, we moved resorts so we could get some comfort and air conditioning. The arrangement was that the Hideaway would pay for our two nights accommodation at the alternate resort but we needed to pay upfront and then go through our travel agent to recoup the funds….the hideaway have retracted their word now that we are back home and only refunded the unused nights at the Hideaway….we should have done what the other couple who left did and make the Hideaway pay the other resort directly, however we just wanted to get our children some comfort and sleep and would have done anything to do that. The food was average at best. Cocktails were nice and the pool was great and caters well for families. The couples massage was also lovely however the overall experience of dishonesty, deceit and lack of care for their guest far outweighs the positives.

We stayed at Hideaway for five days in Oct/Nov, with our little boy who was 3, and absolutely loved it! The staff are wonderful, the food superb, the accommodation gorgeous and the entertainment local and beautiful. We were right on the beach in a two bed bungalow, and we saw gorgeous tropical fish in the reef right out the front, took part in their activities and met wonderful people there. The Japanese restaurant on site was excellent and the cocktails generous. We went to visit some of the five star resorts for dinner, and both times we were really put off by the busyness and the sheer size. Hideaway in contrast was low rise (all ground level!), spacious, peaceful and right on the beach. It felt like we were actually in Fiji rather than “a cruise ship on land” as some of the larger hotels felt. We will return again and again! Vitals Hideaway for a wonderful stay xo

We absolutely loved Fiji, from the gorgeus people to amazing setting. Fiji Hideway is a wonderful resort, remembering its 3.5 stars. One of the only resorts that is locally owned! Its pretty long 1.5 hour drive from the airport. We were greeted by lovely and warm people and staff. We had attached Bure's, which were large, comfortable although slightly outdated. The setting is stunning and only a few paces to the beachfront. Our Bure's were near the back and unfortunately next to the road, which was constantly loud and noisy (note this is my only complaint of our entire trip and to be fair we live near the bush so not used to noise!) There is also no TV or Wifi in the rooms. We didn't choose the package, which I'd suggest for families, especially with smaller kids. Most of the he food was pretty good and lots of choices. The beef and chickpea curry was AMAZING!! The pool area is good, clean and the staff have lots of fun activities throughout the day. The resort is right on the ocean so you can easily snorkel or kayak. Water is clear and we saw lots of fish, star fish and sea snakes. The staff at Fiji were fantastic, they were always helpful , and joyous and happy and it does make you smile.

Rooms spacious but not equipped equally. No towels & took a long time to get some. Tea/coffee provided -boil water Beds very comfy. Shampoo etc provided weneva we asked. Shop & bar too pricey staff 👍 Needed car which we didn't have as town + ATM is 30 mins away. Barter with taxis as they all charge different prices. Overall it was a great trip but we would have done things differently if we'd known EVERYTHING costs us.

Old and in desperate need of upgrade. Staff were unhelpful, rude and didn't give a flying fig. Below average amenities throughout this hot mess from the 80's. Don't waste your time, better value elsewhere.

2 hour bus trip from Nadi to resort not 1 hour as advised on website. NO TV or internet in the rooms! No hot water for 4 days had to change rooms, bathroom mouldy on ceiling and walls, shower screen disgusting, tile grout filthy, whole place needs a thorough clean and paint, food was sub standard probably 3 out of 10, poor quality for price, swimming pool had green scum around the edge, only one shop in resort, bought an ice cream which was inedible and the list goes on. Won’t be going back.

Very disappointed with our recent holiday, bus trip was 2 hours from Nadi airport not 1 as stated. The food was very poor, tasteless and not cheap, They don’t have a chef, maybe the gardener does the cooking. Service from bar staff very ordinary, no service. Most of the facilities are closed, no spa, massage or gym available. No play ground for children, kids club a joke. The whole place is very tired, and dirty. Chairs around the pool are disgusting, need to be replaced. The one shop that is open was very expensive. We had NO hot water for more than half our stay. And when we asked to have someone take a look, half the time the person never returns. Our room was dirty. All up would not go back.

Love the villas - old style but nice and roomy esp the two bedroom. And the snorkelling and dive options are good but the surprise was the new Japanese restaurant (don’t recall name) with sea views and GREAT food. So nice to have more choice than standard tourist buffet and menu.

Thank you Hideaway management and staff!!! Just spent a couple of days at your Resort and can definitely applaud the service!!! Your Buffet service was impeccable (the butter-chicken and naan bread was to die for!!), The Food and Beverage staff was superior! ( I understand superiority from my 20+ experience in the South Pacific Tourism industry), Extra Special thanks to Mr WIse from Yasawa for his leadership in his section. !!! (even the lady resort Manager was so accommodating and such a 'Natural' in her order of service. WANANAVU!!!!!! If you are looking for a reasonable place to stay, Welcome to Hideaway!!! Love you guys heaps ( from a person who has come to your Lovely Hotel from 2 different Industries altogether....push on thru!!!

Another great time here!! If you're looking for 5 star with lots of chrome and glass, this isn't it. But if you want a small, very friendly, happy place where the staff are amazing with kids and nothing is too much trouble, this place is great. All the staff were so good with my kids. Sophie and Kelsey say Hi to their friends Oni, Pena, Salome,Vito,Mani,Dan,Name and Tash! We'll be back again!.
