Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Beautiful villa, clean and spacious. Pool was great! Onsite managers were helpful and responded quickly to any queries. Would be nice if they kept the beach near the accommodation clean. If you walk further down there is lots of tropical fish and snorkelling when the tides right. Would recommend a rental car if staying here or you need to bring a lot of food. FJD 15 to get to Sigatoka town 15mins away. Not a whole lot to do in the area for families with young children

We have stayed at Malaqereqere Villas on at least five ocassions and unequivocably recommend this accommodation as the best available on the Coral Coast. The proximity of the Villa's to Natadola, Sigatoka, Korolevu, Cuvu and Korotonga gives you so many options for exploring the best that Fiji has to offer. To be able to take a casual stroll to Kadevu and the Shangri La through the village of Cuvu whilst interacting with the local villagers just adds more merit points to the reasons you should stay here. The beautiful sunsets, the ambience of the setting, the conviviality and personality of the Management, the barbeques in the Bure all make for a unforgettable experience. We will return.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this tropical paradise and would recommend the property to anyone. The accommodation was everything and more, it looked just as beautiful as the pictures, my one wish was the property had goggles, snorkels and canoes available to rent to take advance of the beautiful water in front of this property, so take your own. This certainly was not a problem, only an observation.

I think that my title describes my experience. It was wonderful.Everything.Specially the BBQ and the swimming pool. The sunset is magic.Perfect room. And at the tour desk you can to find everything you need.Specially the attractions. The center of Sigatoka is around 5 minutes away by car but the distance is suggested on foot.Little more away is Cuvu Harbour but more beautiful distance too.

Our group of 3 families consisting of 7 adults and 7 children ranging in age from 7yrs to 17yrs just returned from the most amazing holiday at Malaqereqere Villas. So relaxing, an amazing view and right near the local villages - great for a walk in the morning with all the friendly Fijian's shouting out 'Bula'. Watch out on the roads though as the drivers are crazy! The kids had great fun in the pool swimming and chasing toads at night. The hosts Rusi and Kelera were so hospitable and friendly.

A few tips. There's a small shop across the road for bread and basic items like soft drinks, noodles, tin foil, ice blocks etc... (get your fresh bread early in the morning).

For a big shop there are several supermarkets and the markets in Sigatoka town. It's only FJD1 per person to catch the bus into Sigatoka and you can catch it right outside the door of the villa's. Just flag it down. Approx 20 min ride. Or you can take a taxi for FJD10 each way.

Rusi and Kelera prepared a wonderful Lovo feast one night and the kids joined in to help make it. We would highly recommend doing this.

If you want good meat then its best to pre order it from Nadi as it will get delivered to the villa's. It does only do deliveries twice a week so best to order before you arrive into Fiji, or ask your driver to stop at the butchers in Nadi.

One thing that may be helpful is a week prior to guests arriving perhaps telling them to contact the Aussie butcher in Nadi to pre order meat if required.

We have stayed at resorts, and we far prefer Malaqereqere. I would highly recommend Malaqereqere and can't wait to return!

My Wife and I have travelled to many places in the world, but we have never experienced a more beautiful place like Malaqereqere Villas. There are 4 Villas surrounding a lovely swimming pool (complete with waterfall) all overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The Villas are far enough separated from each other to allow as much privacy or as much contact with the other residents of the other Villas as you wish.
The great thing about the Villas is they are fully self contained with everything you would need including a COCKTAIL BLENDER - and did we use it!! AND the GREAT NEWS it didn't cost us an arm and leg if we had to order one from the large overpriced Name Branded Resorts.
The Villas are kept sparking clean by the Fijian managers - Jokapeci and her husband Miniroti - both who really turn on the famous Fijian hospitality - they are both delightful and made us feel part of their family - never happen at the big noisy resorts.
I would really recommend anyone who wants to have a true Fijian holiday with a touch of Luxury to stay at Malaqereqere Villas on the Coral Coast

This is a great way to go for your Coral Coast holiday. The Villas are well located - not far from Sigatoka and within reach of the resorts. Having a car is the better way to go but you can manage without via other transport options. In side you have everything you need and the Wifi is good for those that need it. We have been spoiled by good weather and that has enhanced the superb view & outlook from Villa 1. You do get a bit of road noise but that is minor in the scheme of things and we would definitely do it again.

Only an hours drive - we hired a car, on to be fair terribly potholed roads, Malaqereqere Villas were relatively easy to find apart from the fact that someone has pinned (in google maps) a Shangri La across the road when its actually 2km's and already pinned correctly. There is a big sign on the road so don't fear you might have passed it.
The Villa is spacious and really well appointed. We weren't sure if the marmalade in the cupboard was complimentary as it had a price on the lid (may have been put on there on the dairy though, and we could have easily asked if we really wanted to use it).
The lagoon is nice to have a wade and explore - I would suggest taking some footwear that you wear in the water (the name of them escapes me) to allow easy walking on the coral debris.
We would go to the local resorts - Shangri La for lunch (5mins), Intercontinental for a spa treatment and dinner (20 min drive) and lunch at Bedarra Ebb and Tide cafe (not bad) and Koko's further around from Sigatoka - about 20mins drive also. We checked out Outrigger but didn't eat there. So plenty of places to visit if needed. We did try to go to Intercontinental for another lunch but they were at capacity and we weren't allowed in - we should have said we were there for a spa treatment again. We were in Villa 1 and there were two families with kids in the pool most of the day, which was fine but obviously dependant on what the families are like.
Malaqereqere would be a great venue to hire the whole complex out, its very relaxed and not the place if you want to people watch, but great for a read.
We bought our own eye fillet, lamb and cheeses (and coffee for the plunger). But bought tomatoes, cucumber, paw-paws and pineapples locally for around $15 from one of the many stands on side of main road.
Hosts were lovely and also very helpful considering I left my car/house keys there!
Vinaka

Exactly what we wanted. Uninterrupted views of the Coral Coast in a beautifully appointed villa. Conveniently located to the local market and village where you can purchase beautiful fresh Produce. If you felt like venturing out there's a great little restaurant Nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking to relax in a slice of paradise. Mary and Peter.
