We stayed at Sandypoint cottage for one night on 9th Feb 2013 for a staff/family retreat.
We took a family cottage (cottage#4) and a triple cottage (cottage #3). Family cottage accomodates 5 adults and triple cottage accomodates 3 adults.

All the cottages are self-contained with private outdoor BBQ and parking. Cottages were very clean.

Swimiming pool was clean as well.

Sandypoint is an amazing place and the ammenities provided were more than our expectation.

Bob and Coral - the owners of Sandypoint were very kind and attended to any extra requirements.

Will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!!

Don't forget to bring your sandshoes if you want to see colorful coral during low tide.

Sandy Point Beach Cottages is like your favorite lounge chair with fantastic views. A hire car is recommended but not necessary as Restaurants and Bars are only a short walk away on Sunset Strip you can purchase a medium pizza for $20 fijian and a beer for $4.50 fj at Sinbad Pizza House also the Outrigger is just next door, if you have the need to visit a Resort. The fridges are big and clean ample pots and pans for doing your own cooking of produce purchased at Sigatoka Markets only 15/20 minutes’ drive away. The cottages have ceiling fans but no air-conditioning. We stayed in the family cottage this time it has a separate bedroom with it’s own bathroom. If you love having a swimming pool all to yourself you will most of the time, here. Plenty of cups, glasses and plates to use, coffee and sugar in jars are provided, also provided were areogard and surface spray. SPBC is a 1 hour drive from Nadi, you get uninterrupted water views from your outside sitting area. We used Green Car Hire, they have good clean cars at very competitive rates.

We stayed at Sandy Point for 3 or 4 nights on a quick Fiji layover on our way to Australia. It was a perfect for us. Very economical, right on the water, close to interesting things and very relaxing. Here are the details.

Sigatoka is about an hours drive from the airport along the gold coast. Sandy Point 5-10 minutes east of Sigatoka had arranged for a driver to pick us up. We paid but it was reasonable. Renting a car would have been another fine option, I think I would drive if I went again. The driver stopped in Sigatoka for us to do some quick grocery shopping as we were staying in a housekeeping cottage with a full kitchen and would be making most of our meals.

The cabin was one of about 5 or 6 self contained cinder block cottages, spaced reasonably apart among beautiful flowering bushes and palm trees so you don't feel at all crowded. Inside there was a galley kitchen with a living/eating area a half wall with screen between living/sleeping area and a very nice bathroom with shower. There is also a carpark/patio outside with chairs. It had a TV with more stations than I've ever seen! My kids could find there US favorites - drat! It was very clean, roomy with all the basics you need. They have a swimming pool on the property although when we were there it was quite cold so we didn't use it plus the property is right on the sea so why use a pool?

The location is spectacular. It is right above the beach, you walk down steps to sea level - beautiful view. It is directly next door to a large fancy resort. We were there in August the place was empty. We went next door and lounged on their beach chairs, got drinks in the bar and came home to make lunch. There was a small restaurant with inexpensive food just down the beach. The hotel next door had a restaurant and there were other hotels with restaurants down the beach. The resort next door was willing to rent kayaks etc to folks not staying at their property. Across the street is a small but interesting Eco Museum, firewalking and such is available at nearby resorts. With the help of the owner of the cottages we hired a guide for a 4 hour tour of the sites around the island.

Bottom line this was a very quite simple relaxing place to stay to get over jet lag and see a bit of Fiji. This is not not fancy but it is clean functional and perfect for what we were looking for. Most people staying here come for an extended stays perhaps a month or more. We loved it for our short stay. If you were interested in going out often would be easier if you had a car as it's a bit remote.

We stayed one week at Sandy Point. Excellent for budget vocation. The cottages are situated on the beach overlooking the reef. The cottage was not modern, but well kept with everyday room service, free wifi at the reception. The ocean was great.
This is very good value!
Bob and Coral are very nice hosts.

We were recently passing through the Coral Coast and we wanted somewhere for our family of 5 for a couple of nights. Sandy Cottages fit the bill plenty of space and kitchen facilities. Great location just off a large coral beach. The cottages are a bit tierd and the beds a bit saggy but it was super cheap, clean, great grounds for the kids to wander around and really good location.

First of all, this place was really cheap. You get an entire house with a toilet, a kitchen, 2 beds, lots of chairs and sitting space, fridge, small tv and ceiling fans. There is also a BBQ pit and private parking area. The house is definitely old but simple maintenance is done. I loved the fact that there was a nice and clean freshwater swimming pool we could use. The sea was just 10 steps away and the view was beautiful. If you are looking for a classy place with aircon and good service, this is not for you. The owners were really nice and friendly and were ready to answer any questions we had. They even offered to send us to nearby shops. That was really nice of them because we were not too sure of the area. If you also want lots of nearby facilities and activities, this is not the place because activities are usually carried out further away in the capitals and I find that we wasted a lot of time travelling to these places.

We have just enjoyed 6 peaceful days & nights at Sandy Point Beach Cottages and are looking forward to our next visit. Our well equipped, self contained cottage was comfortable, clean, serviced daily and suited our self-catering needs. There is a good sized fridge/freezer, full sized gas oven and cook-top, plenty of crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils. Ceiling fans and cross ventilation keep the cottage cool so no need of AC. There is a flat screen TV with a USB port and access to an array of channels. The view out over the lagoon and fringing reef is superb, the grounds and fresh water pool are well maintained. The cottages are warmly reminiscent of a well loved 'kiwi bach'. Cafes & resorts are a short stroll along the beach and a cheap mini-bus passes the gate to Sigatoka town every 20 minutes where you can shop for supplies. Our hosts Bob & Coral are very knowledgeable, welcoming and hospitable, as are their staff.

If you are a self-caterer you don't expect 5 star which SPBC's is not but you have a full size oven with cook top ( 4 ) burners runs on gas, a big fridge that keeps everything cold and a good size freezer. Pots, pans plates coffee cups, glasses. salt, pepper, tea and coffee were all there. Hot water all day long with good pressure. One of the highlights was our own BBQ, you have a car port, plenty of covered sitting areas around your cottage, the grass around the property is so soft to walk on great for bear feet. Power 24/7 a good sized swimming pool which was spotless. Plenty of books to read, well lit at night. Very close to other Resorts if you want to go and look around, we did and were back to our hideaway within an hour. Sigatoka Town and markets are an easy drive away if you need to stock up on supplies. Now for my towel and pillow rating Towels 9/10 pillows 8+/10. You were supplied with beach towels so you did not need to ask for them. Coral and Bob ( hosts ) are so nice full of information and go the extra yards for you, also there is a line under the carport to hang/dry clothes etc. So happy are we with SPBC's I booked March next year on checkout.

This was our first trip to Fiji and we could not have asked for a better place to stay. Carol was super helpful setting up our stay and great recommendations of things to do. The cottage was great and fit our family needs perfectly. The grounds were amazing with a nice pool and easy beach access. Overall, a wonderful time for our family and we will head back to Sandy Point next time we are in Fiji.
