Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent value on the beautiful coral coast. Comfortable self contained cottages on the water's edge. Walking distance to local restaurants. Next door to Outrigger Resort. Great television reception, a bonus in Fiji. Friendly hosts Bob and Coral. We will definitely be returning.

Sandy point is situated on a beautiful part of the Coral Coast Fiji set in lovely gardens and with cottages only a few steps away to the beach But he owners Bob and Coral Kennedy are so mean the kitchen utensils so old we went out and had to buy bowls for cereal as they had none no baking dish and dirty old plastic cups were the television was taken away the second day we were there broken never to be returned. We were never asked once were we enjoying ourselfs It is such a pity as this place could be paradise. MRS Kennedy wouldn't even give us a phone number for a taxi. THE staff at Sandy Point were fantastic so good and pleasant. We would return tomorrow if the cottages had a few dollars spent on them to make a stay more pleasant

Wow.. what can I say about Sandy Point? I knew we were going budget so probably didnt expect too much to be honest.. We stayed in the family room (cant remember which number.. possibly 3?) The closest bungalow to The Outrigger.. It ended up equating to $31 AUD per night per person for the four of us.. BUDGET THUMBS UP!! It was so peaceful!!!! Serene and felt very comfortable immediately.. The rooms could definitely do with a bit of TLC and being updated like the bathroom.. Or the paint thats peeling off the walls.. But my god, the beds and pillows WERE COMFY AS ANYTHING!! And since two of our days were raining I couldnt think of anything better to do than lay back and relax reading a good book hearing the rain outside with the waves crashing on the beach... I only wish we actually had an extra week to lap this up! We were attending a wedding at The Outrigger. I got to see the expensive hut rooms at that hotel because my dear friend the bride was staying in one.. Not sure I would have been happy paying the $700 per night for what she got when we were paying $31 a night and felt more comfortable.. We did use the outrigger for breakfast and one dinner, but ended up more at Bedarra more for two breakkies and a dinner.. Food was great there. We also ate at The Beach bar & grill after our group caught a Miramira and fed nearly 25 of us! We didnt get to use the pool as its not heated and it didnt quite warm up to normal temperatures due to average weather. ( I dont love the heat anyway so weather was perfect for me!) My only comment is the ceiling fans.. When we checked in and looked around the reception area it looked like a murder scene! I think when the fans are on in bad bug season, the bugs splatter onto the walls from the ceiling fans... But it looked BRUTAL! It definitely made us feel funny about going to our rooms haha.. The same scene was in our rooms but definitely not as bad.. Just the mint green walls makes it look worse than what it was. Overall if you are coming to Fiji do not go pass Sandy Point.. Excellent value and super comfy.. Worth every cheap cent they charge.

Relaxed, well looked after, grassy with an amazing view of the lagoon and surrounded by wonderful people! There is a nice sized kitchen with oven, stove and nice sized fridge. The big resorts are a walking distance if you want to eat out or is attending a wedding nearby. I will definitely stay there again when I go back to the Coral Coast.

well all i can say is wow, we stayed in cottage 1 n parents in cottage 2, 20 steps to the left we were at the pool, 20 steps forwards we were at the beach. own bbqs at each cottage. fully self contained, we could cook our own or just a 3 minute drive to Bedarra. so peaceful and so relaxing. my children were 11 n 13yrs old n they loved it there, sitting on front verandah looking over the ocean. whilst we were there a few families with smaller children were there, they had a great time at pool n beach.then when they left we had medical students stay. peacefulness all you could hear was the ocean. we spent 4 weeks here and came home so refreshed. we had a hire car, but its only a 3min walk to the main rd to get local bus n taxis, 6 minute walk to the outrigger n across the rd you have kula eco park. the longer you stay the better the price.the managers Coral n Bob are beautiful people and very knowlegable. the staff from the cleaners to gardners are all pleasant.

We have just enjoyed 6 peaceful days & nights at Sandy Point Beach Cottages and are looking forward to our next visit. Our well equipped, self contained cottage was comfortable, clean, serviced daily and suited our self-catering needs. There is a good sized fridge/freezer, full sized gas oven and cook-top, plenty of crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils. Ceiling fans and cross ventilation keep the cottage cool so no need of AC. There is a flat screen TV with a USB port and access to an array of channels. The view out over the lagoon and fringing reef is superb, the grounds and fresh water pool are well maintained. The cottages are warmly reminiscent of a well loved 'kiwi bach'. Cafes & resorts are a short stroll along the beach and a cheap mini-bus passes the gate to Sigatoka town every 20 minutes where you can shop for supplies. Our hosts Bob & Coral are very knowledgeable, welcoming and hospitable, as are their staff.

Sandy Point Beach Cottages is like your favorite lounge chair with fantastic views. A hire car is recommended but not necessary as Restaurants and Bars are only a short walk away on Sunset Strip you can purchase a medium pizza for $20 fijian and a beer for $4.50 fj at Sinbad Pizza House also the Outrigger is just next door, if you have the need to visit a Resort. The fridges are big and clean ample pots and pans for doing your own cooking of produce purchased at Sigatoka Markets only 15/20 minutes’ drive away. The cottages have ceiling fans but no air-conditioning. We stayed in the family cottage this time it has a separate bedroom with it’s own bathroom. If you love having a swimming pool all to yourself you will most of the time, here. Plenty of cups, glasses and plates to use, coffee and sugar in jars are provided, also provided were areogard and surface spray. SPBC is a 1 hour drive from Nadi, you get uninterrupted water views from your outside sitting area. We used Green Car Hire, they have good clean cars at very competitive rates.

This is old fashioned hospitality. The owners leave you alone a quiet peaceful place. Don't expect 5 star the accommodation is basic, but we love the place, no Air Conditioning and mod cons, one small TV. Bring a DVD player. Sigatoka is a short bus trip $1 bus and it is safe. Sandy Point is safe no security issues. There is a basic daily maid service, we have stayed twice and love the place. A walk to Coco's Bar and other resorts. Great snorkelling in front of Sandy Point. Bob is a wealth of knowledge on Fiji and is a weather guru. I rated it average only if you compare with the other resorts in the area. The towels are getting a little old but are cleaned every day, sheets are changed every second day and the cottages are swept each day and the dishes washed for you. The staff will wash your clothes if they have time but you need to hang your own washing. That is fair enough. The pool is spotless and the gardens well maintained. Firewood is provided if you ask the gardener and Bob has the BBQ plates if you need one. Great for a quiet relaxing family holiday.

We stayed for five nights. The cottage we stayed in was the family cottage. Three single beds, one queen bed and two bathrooms. Suited us and our 21 year old daughter perfectly. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could ask for and more. Coral and her husband the owners are a lovely couple who welcomed us and assisted us with contacting local places we were visiting. The cottage is slightly dated, but during our stay there was evidence of improvements being made. Would not hesitate to go back. Perfect location.
