The Fiji Gateway Hotel comes alive with a vibrant atmosphere, thanks to the live music that many guests enjoy during their dining experiences. Its location is praised for airport convenience, appealing particularly to family travelers. While the hotel's amenities, including family-friendly pools and a complimentary shuttle, are appreciated, some guests have cited inconsistent Wi-Fi and room sizes. The cleanliness of the hotel, especially the refurbished rooms, often receives positive comments. Service is generally well-regarded, although a few have pointed out slower restaurant service. Despite some concerns over Wi-Fi fees and room amenities, the overall value is considered favorable.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights, walking ~300m from NAD Arrivals, crossing the highway and arriving at 7AM. A nice receptionist checked our pre-payment and said our room would be cleaned with priority as a steady parade of occupants were leaving for the airport. We took the wifi code and worked in the lobby until 9AM when the receptionist carried our bags to the room.
Garden view #501, 503 & Pool view #103, were all spacious and quiet with a comfortable king across a closet and a 40” TV with BBC, Discovery, cartoons and more channels. A corner shelf(hot pot, coffee/tea & refer below), extended to a desk with outlets, then a couch with table and chair. A large sliding glass door opens to a private patio with table/chairs.
The AC was quiet with temperature control and the room WIFI was strong and secure. Room WIFI is now charged at F$15/day with lobby use continued free.
The fully outfitted bathroom was perfect with a tile shower and good hot water.
Room serviced on request and we swam in the large shallow pool with its water slide, both clear and clean.
We had the 5:30 AM serviced quiet poolside breakfast buffet(F$ 22 each) with juices, pineapple /papaya, cereals/muesli with milk/yogurt, breads/muffins and regular coffee. We also ordered from the ala carte menu.
We returned twice more for 2 nights each as this hotel was an ideal location for airport rental cars, bus stop out front for 7 Sea Cruises, a good IGA supermarket 1.4km south and its walkable location to NAD(to fly to other island countries).

We booked the Fiji Gateway as an overnight stay before the departure day as it is only about 300m from the airport. The reception and service is friendly and well organized. The rooms are very spacious and clean, with free coffee and tea. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi in the rooms is only possible for a fee, not quite contemporary anymore. The attached bar and restaurant are good and highly recommended. Breakfast we no longer needed. Recommended for a short stay and continues to be an option for us.

Probably best to preface this review on the basis of this being a stopover location rather than a holiday destination. The hotel is perfectly located to the Nadi airport for travellers who are waiting for a connecting flight or island transfer. So called airport hotels come with a reputation of being the very minimum however the Fiji Gateway Hotel is an excellent stop for part of an extended journey or wait for the flight home..

The rooms were very clean, comfortable and well appointed for that short stay. The staff were friendly and restaurant and dining service was excellent. For young families contemplating a Fiji island holiday, the hotel is an affordable stopping point between connecting flights. There are pools for the kids and quiet areas to relax.

We rented a day use room at the Fiji Gateway while we waited for our 9 p.m. and it was excellent. They were so welcoming and accommodating. It really saved our day since we had done an early morning excursion and needed a place to shower off, change clothes, and repack our suitcases. We had fun swimming in the pool and going down the waterslide to while away the afternoon. We also had a lovely lunch from the restaurant. This was such a lovely hotel and they were so welcoming that we will probably stay overnight the next time we are in Fiji. They also offer a day pass for $40 FJD for adults and $20 for kids, but we chose a day room this time to have some private space.

There were one or two singer guitarists everyday and they were fantastic. The whole staff beautifully harmonised happy birthday to a couple of people during our stay. I have never seen an airport hotel so clean. It was so clean that you could see nothing trapped in tile grout. Amazing for tiles that are clearly not new and considering the climate. All the staff were lovely. My only recommendation is to pay the extra for a bigger room if you are planning to stay a few nights as there is nowhere to hang wet swimming stuff in the smaller cheaper rooms.

We had a great night at the Fiji Gateway before our early morning flight the next morning.

The family deluxe rooms are perfect for a family of four and the location can’t be beat with a 3 minute walk or shuttle ride across the road.

Kids really enjoyed the pool and the waterslide was a huge hit!

I use this hotel regularly for clients needing a convenient place to stay before flying the following day.

We stay at the Gateway for convenience, great location, shuttle from the airport.
We stayed at the Gateway on arrival from Sydney as the plane arrives late afternoon and it is very convenient with it's close proximity to the airport and free shuttle.
There was a hiccup with our booking as we had booked a ground floor room but the porters took our luggage upstairs and as it was only one night it was not a big issues.
Walked the 20 minutes down queens road to the new world supermarket to get some supplies to the island then returned and went for dinner at the Palm Court Restaurant. Some great choices and great food. They suggest not to drink the water so bought a bottle of bottled water although the do supply a 1 ltr bottle water free along with tea/coffee and milk in the room.
Booked a small queen bed room which was adequate for us. It had A/C which we used and a safe for document safe keeping. Free wifi is available around reception/bar and restaurant but if you want it in your room it is a paid service.
Pick up for the Yasawa flyer is at the bus stop on the main road out front.
On returning to the Gateway Hotel after the island holiday we were given a ground floor room. Organised an early morning wake up call put the suitcases in the room and had dinner about 7:30pm. As it was a return visit we had a surprise of a fruit platter in our room which was a lovely thought.
Wake up call was received and the shuttle to the airport got us at the airport in plenty of time. Just a word of warning the shuttle bus can be very popular so make sure you have plenty of time in case you have to wait for the next shuttle.
Would I recommend this hotel to others, absolutely.
Wonderful hotel and wonderful staff that can't do enough for you.
Thank You Gateway Hotel.

Husband and I stayed here 2 nights, one before and one after flying to Savusavu. The location is perfect. Both times we walked with our luggage from the airport to the hotel, and caught the free shuttle bus back for departures.
The rooms have plenty of space and were quiet with airport noise not heard.
Excellent water pressure in the showers was appreciated.
The restaurant was still open when we made it in at 9pm the first night and reception staff helpful to advise when we should be checking out to get back to the airport for onward flights.
I would not stay here for my whole time in Fiji, but the hotel serves an excellent place to base yourself if transiting overnight to other islands.

This is a perfect hotel for travellers in transit. It is located across the street from the airport but there is no noise from the planes. We had a lovely room with a nice bathroom. Great shower. Comfortable bed. There is a small pool and there is a large very comfortable pool that even has a covered area. My only complaint is regarding the wifi. It is only free in the lobby and there it was so crowded that I couldn't download my boarding passes or deal with important emails as we were on our way home. Free wifi in the room is an expectation for travellers and the absence of it might be a deciding factor for me in returning to this otherwise great place.
