Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was an absolutely rubbish tour and not at all worth the money. The pool is tiny, no sand, all rocks and coral. Nothing to do, lunch was mediocre and then only a few snacks offered. Island is tiny and nothing like the brochure. Massage is an open hut. Not at all worth the time or money.

PSA - if you want to do a south sea island cruise, I recommend going to the Club Wyndham booth opposite Lulu’s cafe first. If you agree to attend a 90 minute timeshare presentation you’ll receive cruise tickets for $20 instead of $229 - even if you say no to a timeshare. We saved over $400 on the combo cruise. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the marina at Denerau. South sea island is about a 25 minute sail from the marina. On the island house drinks and soft drinks are free and lunch is provided. Lots of salads, sausages and mini burgers - it was very filling and tasty. The loungers have seen better days as well as the other facilities but it was good enough. With the combo cruise, we left the marina about 9.15am and left the island at 12.45pm - so about 3hrs on the island. Enough time to go snorkeling, have a ride in the submersible boat - be aware if you are claustrophobic, this may not be for you - see picture. On leaving the island we visited several other islands to drop off and pick up other passengers. We arrived back at the marina about 3.15pm. In hindsight, the cruise bit is a bit of a waste of time as we just sat in the boat, although nice to see what other islands looked like.

We visited south sea island as 2 families, having previously visited in 2019 I was presently surprised at the changes, lots more shaded areas to hang out through the day, bean bags shade sails etc, there is a cash bar now for extra drinks and cocktails not included in the free beverage inclusions, there are also little stalls of Nik naks - rings bracelets carvings etc, have cash!! None of this was there last time so we had no cash. The weather was rough seas & windy but still warm, this prevented the snorkelling and fish feed going ahead, the glass bottom boat was out of action so we actually had the least one would get from the day trip, however they put on a few dances and a cooking demonstration with the head chef. Kids played in the pool and the rest of the time was spent relaxing and chilling out. Well worth it for the day

We did the half day trip from Denarau Island to South Sea Island. Take the Bula Bus from your accommodation and go to Port Denarau to jump on your boat. Recommend sitting outside if its a nice day. Arrive at South Sea Island, where you can choose to swim, snorkel or scuba dive. If this isn't your speed, there is also a pool available. Plenty of areas to sit in the shade to relax before lunch. BBQ lunch is served with choices of meat, chicken and lots of salads. Once lunch is finished, they put on a traditional show with song, dance and a look at the history of the islands. Jump back on the boat, and take a ride around some of the other resort islands. Great way to spend a day.

We did the all day trip to South Sea Island. It was a fun experience for the kids. It became a long day so next time we will only do half day. Good lunch at the Island. Too much coral at the beach. You can’t even walk properly. I will be visiting another Island next time.

It is lovely to go to a small, unspoilt island and meet traditional land owners. We loved the natural beach and snorkelling here. The water is pristine aqua and clear. Lots of bright coloured fish. Bought a bracelet from a local lady and enjoyed their wonderful harmony when singing. If you want a break from the fancy resorts, this place is perfect.

Very underwhelming. Hardly any soft sand - full of hard coral, rocks and shells. Very basic food available and rundown amenities including the pool, beach chairs etc. Submarine was old and couldn’t see much underwater through the glass. Disappointing..

Ferry pick up ran on time, 30 minute trip over to the island. Is a beautiful island, not very big, enough room for all the tourists. You get unlimited drinks, including beer. There is a amazing buffet lunch, lots of salads and meat. Our kids are normal fussy kids, and couldn’t find much they would eat. There is no kids food, so they ate very little. They did enjoy the unlimited soft drink. You could get everything you need on the island, snorkel flippers, life jacket. There have more than enough for everyone. Our kids are 7,11 and 13 and they all had a fantastic time snorkelling all day. Saw lots of fish and even a sting Ray.

Just one word to describe my day trip to SSI i.e. GREAT! connect the Catamaran from Port Denarau to the island which took 30 minutes and this is the fastest out of all the other day trips which may take 1 hour to get the the island itself. With just 30 mins boat ride you will have more time in the island. The food & drinks are all inclusive (unless if you book their Finding-Nemo tour) and it's great food.. I love the steak (nicely cooked) the crew were amazing and very helpful/attentive...I highly recommend this then Malamala day trip. Once again Vinaka Valevu SSC & SSI crew.
