We decided on this hotel due to its proximity to the airport as we had an early morning flight. The room and bed were fine, clean and comfortable, and we didn't notice the noise too much. It was just a shame that the restarant staff were so slow in taking and bringing dinner and drink orders. Breaksfast is included in the room price but it is also a shame that breakfast starts quite late. So if you have a flight before 9.00am, you will probably miss out.

Thank you for staying with us. We will have our service team speed up service to tables. Breakfast starts at 8am to 10.30am daily. Early departing guests can request a tropical breakfast plate delivered to their room the night before. Thank you.

We stayed at The Islander on our last day in the Cook Islands - we were scheduled to fly to Atiu for a couple of days but Covid cancelled this. So we had been staying in much more expensive resorts prior to this in Muri. The Islander is in a great location for the airport (literally across the road to check-in!). It has good food, large restaurant and swimming pool. It is good in those respects, but not so much for accommodation and staying overnight. The rooms are comfortable and clean, but there is loud music from 7 pm - 11.30 pm each night. Sure, they provide ear plugs, but it is better to stay elsewhere and get a full nights sleep. Staff re friendly, but my recommendation is to use The Islander as a transit lounge when travelling, with swimming pool, drinks and food, but we wouldn't stay overnight again. It isn't much cheaper than other resorts that offer much better accommodation.

We stayed at the islander for 1 night. Have no expectations and you will have a fun time.

It is not a resort with a swimming beach and it is next to large petroleum tanks but you can sit on the deck above the water and look out on a gorgeous view.

The staff are so friendly and you really get a sense of the island vibe.

Food was nice.. we walked to the Saturday morning Market in the morning and had fun looking around.

The Hula bar had a dj.. it rocked until 11.30pm.. just join in and have their fish bowl cocktails and enjoy the music.

Very nice and friendly staff. Well like many, we checked out of our hotel and needed a place to store our luggage while waiting for the 11pm flight home to LAX. They were great, they provide locked luggage storage for $5nzd a piece. We left our luggage and headed to Muri beach for a few last hours of beach time. When we got back, they offered us shower services for $10nzd per person.

After showering, they let you stay in the bar/patio/dining area while you wait for your flight so long as you purchase food or drink. We ordered 2 mock tails and waited for our flight, the patio had a wonderful breeze and we caught our last Cook Island sunset until we return.

These guys are very professional and situated perfectly as they are across the street from the airport. Literally a 1-2 minute walk.

In November this year my family and I went to Rarotonga. The second night we were there we went out to hula bar and the islander Hotel for drinks. The manager or bar owner ended up taking us to Rehab (a nightclub in Raro) free of charge due to his kind nature and for that I thank him and his team for their awesome service. Kia Orana❤️

The hotel staff are friendly and accommodating. The location is a few minutes away from the airport and the town, it's also right on the beachfront.

The HULA Bar is a comfortable drinking spot nestled 1 minute within the hotel compound.

Great place to visit.

Despite the restaurant being advertised across various media as opening at 5pm and 5:30pm, the day we arrived we were told the chef was tired and didn’t want to cook anything until 6pm. We got moved tables twice with no reason given. The staff were rude and seemed uninterested in our custom. The Hula Bar next door was the same. The bartender was more interested in chatting up the 5 females at the bar instead of serving up drinks to other customers who were waiting patiently to be acknowledged. Poor service, bad vibes. Go elsewhere as there are lots of other places only too happy to see tourists.

Kia Orana, we are so sorry for your poor service experience. If our kitchen was delayed in dinner service, it would be a result of a super busy lunch (400+ covers) and the kitchen completely out of stocks. The chefs need time to restock their supplies for the dinner service which commenced just after 6pm. However, our service team should not have ignored your table on arrival. Again, our sincere apologies. Kia Manuia.

The Island night was super fun and highly entertaining! Dancers were incredible and were accompanied by amazing musicians and fierce fire warriors. The buffet dinner was delicious local foods including sashimi, banana poke and ika mata. We loved the food and service was awesome too. The finale included members of the crowd joining in on stage and was hilarious!

Booked this particular hotel for its location more than anything else. Got met at the airport by a driver, which I was very grateful for, had quite a lot of baggage. Check in was very quick and easy. Room was massive, two single and on double bed. Happy Hour offers were good. All in all my stay was good.

I chose the islander based on location. right across from airport and close to shipping companies.

i booked the room on a 3rd party website. check in was easy. room was very clean and a nice bathroom. plenty of hot water.

to get on the wifi i had to go to the grocery store, 20 min walk. i think it was 25 NZD for 30GB and valid for 7 days. took a few tries but i got on. the hot spot is in the lobby but i had the range to get it in my room.

breakfast was included, not buffet but off the menu. it was pretty good.

the only downside is that it can be a little noisy from the bar and dining area. but by midnight its all quiet. not a deal breaker for me but it could bother some.

staff was great and helpful

i would stay again if i return to rarotonga
