I spent a week here by myself and wished I had stayed longer. I was in a beachfront studio which was very well equipped and was spotlessly clean. The location is very good, opposite the Oasis store, next to the brewery and a few minutes down the beach yo Vaianas beach bar. The huge deck had 2 solid sun loungers, a dining table send a bbq. There was a washing machine on site but would have preferred my own clothes line or rack.

Unfortunately I had little sleep for a few nights due to inconsiderate guests but this was dt with by Albie who us an asset to the property. I would definitley stay again

This place ticks all the boxes. Great location. Oasis service station straight opposite has everything you need and well stocked. Short distance to airport and town centre. Our studio unit was fully equipped. Bbq and large deck area. Relaxing and the views breathless. Own little paradise in your front yard. Albie looked after the surrounding property and was great to talk to. His knowledge and humour on the local scene was very helpful. Tashi is always on hand via communications during our stay. Helped us settle in and assisted us in getting us to the airport with all our luggage. Next level service. Absolutely recommend this place 😃 10/10 👍

Peace and tranquillity on your own private beach. Sorry Welshbird1971 - you couldn't have missed the mark more if you tried. From day one of arrival to my sad day of departure 20 nights later, I couldn't have asked for anything more. For the budget-minded this place is a truly great find. You could pay a lot more for a lot less but you couldn't pay less for the all that was offered. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, the bed sublime, the beach completely deserted for days on end, the ocean clean and warm. My host, Alby, the consummate gentleman and host checked every few days to see if there was anything I lacked or needed. The housekeeper, Girly, was polite, pleasant and thorough. The kitchen was adequate for cooking basic meals with lots of dishes, cutlery and pots and pans, the bathroom clean and comfortable. The grounds of the property were tended to daily and basking in the sun on the huge deck at the front of my bungalow was comfortable on the padded lounge chairs or seated in the wicker arm chairs. Island bus stopped out front every hour, Annie's Internet Cafe was a 15 minute walk, the main grocery store a 30 minute walk. A 24 hour convenience store was across the road from the complex. Road was seldom busy and easy to cross - traffic was non-existent at night. Lots of colourful fish to be seen right off the shore with a cooling breeze blowing in from the sea most of the time. The lagoon was NOT grubby. The island is a lava formation so there are bits of coral and lava on the beaches around the entire island. Take a pair of surf shoes or sandals to wear and you won't have a problem at all. The airport was a 10 minute walk away, but being a small island the frequency of flights was not a nuisance in the least. Looking for a place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of suburbia? This is it. Garry Harmer Port Coquitlam British Columbia

Me and my partner arrived in rarotonga late at night/early hours of the morning, Nikao beach bungalows is literally a 2minute drive from the airport and directly across the road from the 24hr service station. First thing waking up the next morning to an amazing sunrise on the deck looking out and the beach literally as your front lawn - breath taking. The bungalow is the perfect place if you want your own space. its has all your basic cooking neccesities, a big bed, great shower and bathroom we really enjoyed having it all to ourselves. The price we paid for this was soo much cheaper than staying at a big hotel and much more private I wish we had stayed longer here!there is no air con however so we had the fans running all night - seeing as we had just arrived we were still adjusting to the heat first couple days. Nikao is not too far from town and alby even offered us a ride to town to hire a scooter, he was so friendly and made sure we had everything needed without being too in our face. fantastic guy. The lagoon was beautiful and had no problems at all! the best side to swim with less rocks etc is to the left of the property but watch out for those sea cucumbers! take some reef shoes. Cooling off under the coconut trees was great too. All round amazing stay! Will be back! Writing this review as its raining here in auckland and wishing I was back in beautiful rarotonga! thanks so much alby for everything

It doesn't get much better than this!! A private beach for your backyard and a 24hr convenience store across the road (we counted - it was 20 steps away lol). Everything you need is within walking distance (cafe's, pubs, shops, restaurants, airport) so there's no getting lost.
The bungalow was immaculately clean and modern and provided more than what we needed. We were definitely spoilt in this place. We had the beautiful spacious 2 bedroom bungalow which suited the 04 of us perfectly. The furniture and bedding was so comfortable and all facilities were conveniently placed.
Airport noise is minimal/next to nothing - especially where we come from in Sydney where there are several planes flying over our suburb every 30mins.
Waking up every morning to the beach/water views was amazing. The backyard beach is just stunning. Plenty of sea creatures (tropical fish, sea cucumbers, star fish, coral) in the water to keep you amused and fascinated. It's almost hard to walk back to the bungalow because you don't want to leave the beachside. It's also hard to leave the 24hr store too because it has everything from fresh hot/cold meals delivered to the store daily (lol).
Alby and his family have done a great job with the upkeep of this property. With Alby being so warm and welcoming everyday throughout our stay and Tashi being an absolute star when it came to bookings and communication.
This place is a definite must for newbie's to Raro. Forget Muri (lol). This is the place to stay when in Raro.

The experience of staying at the Nikao Beach Bungalows can only be described as excellent. The owners are friendly, are extremley helpful and will go out of theur way to make your stay enjoyable. The location is great; close to the airport and 24hour service station across the road. The lagoon is a few metres from your balcony.
I would highly recommend the Nikao Beach Bungalows.

The Nikao Bungalows were truly amazing , nice and clean, tidy and very comfortable with amazing water views. It was so handy to everything. Close to town , 24hour petrol station across the road . 2 minute drive to the resorts where all our friends were staying. I couldnt have asked for a better place to stay. Very Very quiet and relaxing place. Nice to watch the planes fly over every so often. Would gladly stay there again and highly recommend to everyone . And to the couple about the containers.... you dont even see them unless you really look of the back of the deck on the left . Quite frankly all i saw when i was there was beautiful blue clear ocean and lots of sun the container that is not at all obvious unless you really look back into the neighbours garden .

I agree with the previous poster that the roosters and "jet blast" (there are about 16 arrivals/departures per week so 1 day there might be 1 arrival/departure and another day there could be 5) are annoying, but we got used to the noise. The room itself was well laid out, modern and clean.

Particularly important to us here was the attitude of the proprietor since we had just left the Inano Beach Resort in Aitutaki (horrible attitude) and we really appreciated Alby - Proprietor, since he checked with us every couple of days to see if we needed anything in a very pleasant and non-intrusive way. His interest in the quality of the visit made a big difference to us. All the rooms here and pay phones require the prepaid card mentioned in the earlier post.

In summary, this was an excellent value based decision to stay here as the view from our room really made our stay here special. If you are thining of doing both Aitutaki and Roratonga I would stay longer here and less in Aitutaki. Just my opinion. By the way, the water at the shore was perfect every day during our stay and I went in almost every day.

We plannen to stay two nights in the Paradise Inn. This 'hidden gem' actualy turned out to be a horrible dirty and dusty hostel for 125 dollars a night. Therefore we left and searched for another place. At Nikoa Beachbungalows we fit a very warm welcome and above that a private beachhouse which has got EVERYTHING you ever whished for including a private coconutbeach for only 100 dollars per night! It's not on walking distance from Avarua but just hire a scooter and you be there in a couple of minutes.

The 3 beach bungalows are very well-equipped. I made breakfast and a few lunches in the kitchen of mine on a regular basis and I found all the utensils I needed were already there. There is a free laundry facility on site, free kayaks and free snorkeling gear. The hammock on the beach is a perfect place to while away a morning reading. The Oasis service station across the street is not only open 24 hours, but it is very well-stocked including cage-free eggs, hot foods and fresh vegetables for salads. The best part is Tashi and her wonderful team who will bend over backwards should you need anything. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
