The full breakfast which is included in the room rate is very good and generous portions. The location being so close to the airport, gave us plenty of time to relax, shower and return back to the airport for our transfer flight to Aitutaki.
The staff were excellent and very accommodating during our short stay. I would highly recommend this hotel and its restaurant to anyone who comes off a long flight and wants a nearby hotel to the airport to unwind.

Stayed for one night before we moved to our main resort. We were picked up from the airport at 10.30 pm the hotel pickup no worries. Comfortable bed great hot breakfast . We walked to town for a look and shop then back for a great smoothie later the hotel dropped us to our resort. Very happy.

My friend and I stayed at The Wellesley for our 3 night trip to Rarotonga. The hotel exceeded our expectations and was one of the highlights of our trip. We had the entire pool and pool area to ourselves for the entire stay. It is a nice a quiet place to stay that feels like home away from home. The staff was so kind and generous. They made sure that we were always well fed and taken care of. The location is perfect and right in down, walking distance from the Saturday market. I would highly recommend The Wellesley and would love to stay there again on my next trip to Rarotonga!

We were fortunate enough to stay on the top floor over looking the pool during the last leg of our island visit. The art and decor will entice you, the food will make you linger around and the service will make you stay. The building is trendy with a lovely pool to enjoy and the view is breathtaking. We found the location to be the best as it's tucked away from the main road but close to all the amenities. However, light sleepers beware as the property's location will have noise at night (not every night but some nights you will hear music from the the places near by). As the hotel is fairly new, there are some minor things that still need to be attended to (i.e.: screen missing from one of the windows, water pressure can take a minute or two). Breakfast and lunch were available on site but you will need to go elsewhere for dinner which is easily accessible from the main road.

We highly recommend getting a scooter rental if you stay here, even though you can easily walk to other restaurants and the main strip of their "downtown" area. A scooter rental will ensure you see everything the island has to to offer, the hike up the Te Rua Manga (The Needle), and so forth. Note if you have a motorcycle licence there isn't an issue renting a scooter, however if you don't have a licence you will have to pay to get one (which we heard was $100). If you are lucky you can rent without a licence from Island Car & Bike but they charge about $10 more than their competitors and their service is mediocre at best. Try to book through Polynesian Rentals if possible, they had great prices, service and options for pick/drop off. They have a location near the hotel as well.

What a loverly small hotel. Set back from the main road tucked away but only a few mins walk to the bars and shops.
Like a home away from home freindly staff and the amazing Lilly who has a loverly manner and àims to assist whenever possibly.
Modern rooms, which are very clean and comfortable beds, beautiful linen and a nice pool and outdoor space.
Would highly recommend.

We were to stay for 10 days and were picked up from the airport by the manager. Lovely, warm welcome from the manager and his smiling staff. Every member of the staff was helpful and efficient, throughout our stay, and I cannot praise them enough! Our room was comfortably furnished, and the breakfasts were superb. Evening dinners could be arranged, but the restaurant was not open to the public in the evening. It was, however, open for breakfast and/or lunch. It was called "The Lazy Trout".
From time to time, our sleep was disturbed by barking dogs, and by early morning cock crows, but not enough to stop us going back to 'The Wellesley"!

Had the most beautiful experience staying at this hotel. First trip to Cook Islands and i will never forget it. Cannot find anything bad to say (except that i wish i stayed a all week there). The place is well looked after and clean. Rooms are net and clean, and same for bathrooms and toilet. Its a real pleasure to stay there. Staffs are very nice people, always smiling and so helpful. Thank you Thibaut and Noorah for your work, and i will never forget you. With the chief cook you are the best, please do not change. The food is and was fantastic and so yummy and so not expensive. I wish all my business trip could be like that..well i will come back..thats for sure.. Take care and meitaki ma'ata

My wife and I stayed the last 5 nights of trip to Rarotonga at the Wellesley and we would recommend it to anyone. Nestled just off the beaten track of the main strip and conveniently located to all government offices if you are there on business, the staff, Tibo (GM), Andy (Kitchen Manager), Nooroa and Claire (servers and hosts extraordinaire) made our stay special and memorable. The food in The Lazy Trout Cafe was fantastic - especially the included breakfasts, the room was comfortable, the location to downtown Avarua was most convenient and the scenery looking up into the mountains was spectacular. Being that this a boutique hotel with only 3 rooms available for rent, this place is excellent if you are looking for a unique experience away from your typical resort atmosphere. We felt like we were staying with family.

Wow! I was so blown away with the absolutely amazing service from all the staff here at this boutique hotel. In fact it is like staying at a home stay with the lovely personal experience. Margaret looked after everything so well and Andrew created world class dishes in the kitchen. The rest of the team all went out of their way to make my stay very relaxed and pleasant.
The 25m pool and tropical gardens were a bonus on my work trip.
The apartment type room was well appointed and a comfortable bed.
For working in Avaroa this cannot be beaten. I was able to bike (a stylish bike provided at the property) to dinners and attend meetings in the town easily.
All meals, coffees and drinks were excellent.
I fully recommend to stay here.
