I spent a week at Arkana Ayahuasca Retreat - Sacred Valley and it was one of the most amazing weeks of my life. For the purpose of this review I will omit my spiritual experience and will only say it was an absolutely beautiful healing experience and one that everyone should experience. I will review on the facility and staff below.

Facility:
The grounds are beautiful and tranquil. The room was very spacious and comfortable. VERY clean considering where were located and we had running hot water which I'm told is a luxury. There were plenty of places to lounge, meditate and relax when needed. They also have two resident dogs (and a 3rd that frequently visits) and a cat. I absolutely loved these animals and missed them the moment I left!

Service:
Superb. Everyone from the facilitators, cooks to cleaning staff were all very friendly and will help you in any way they can. Any questions or requests you might have they will do their best to help with and will always do it with a smile.

Food:
Very good, clean vegan food with the occasional fish or chicken. It's all about the soups...I loved the soups!

Facilitators & Shamans:
As great as the facility was, what truly made for the most memorable experience were the facilitators and Shamans. They are such beautiful, kind-hearted people who made us all feel they were there to help us. We felt so much compassion and love coming from them. During the ceremony I was able to put my complete faith and trust in them and knew they would take care of me as I go on my journey. The singing and instruments they played during the ceremony was beautiful and hypnotic.

There is just so much more I can say but I will leave you with one final message. If you have ever thought about experiencing Ayahuasca and are on the fence about going, then just do it. Arkana Sacred Valley is a great place for your first experience because you don't have to deal with the humidity and bugs as you would at the jungle retreats. I can't wait to go back!

My 7 Day Ayahuasca Retreat at Arkana Spiritual Center was a trip indeed — a journey inward to light and love. Arkana Sacred Valley was everything I wanted for my 1st Ayahuasca Retreat — beautiful location, affordable pricing, professional staff, authentic shamans, flexible retreat dates, other plant medicine options, and group activities.

I’m eternally grateful for the incredible shamans, compassionate facilitators, & all the like minded strangers who quickly became family for holding space in my heart.

If you’re looking for a safe, authentic, and professional setting to experience Ayahuasca, I highly recommend Arkana Spiritual Center in the Sacred Valley. I personally want to go back and experience the Amazon Center next time around!

I spent a transformational week in the Sacred Valley. Upon arrival at the center from Cusco, my new family of guests was greeted by local Shipibo dressed in traditional Andean clothes and accompanied with flutes, drums and singing. After settling into my large and comfortable private room (king bed, cozy bedding and top floor balcony view of the river and mountains), we all gathered for orientation. I soon realized that the facilitators - Julian, Coleman, Fernanda, Daniella, Julia and Gloria - were genuinely kind and gentle healers, with nothing but our safety, well being and treatment in mind. Each were of great help to me throughout my stay and during the ceremonies, always seeking to make me feel safe and comfortable.

The center’s grounds are beautifully landscaped, with many lovely areas to chill and relax, from hammocks, lounge chairs, a covered/padded pergola and covered picnic tables, all long the banks of the Urubamba river. Meals are prepared from an on-site kitchen from wonderful chefs and staff; the food is healthy, clean and absolutely delicious! My group couldn’t stop raving about it.

My week at Arkana included one Rape treatment, three Ayahuasca ceremonies and one Sapo (“toad”) ceremony, plus several fun excursions. The maestros, brothers Misael and Herminio, are wise and loving healers, not to mention outstanding musicians. The Icaros that the maestros channel through the medicine are extremely powerful and will elevate one’s frequency during the ceremonies, particularly if one is having a difficult journey.

The plant medicines are potent and deeply revered by everyone at Arkana. My memorable week culminated with an excursion to Machu Picchu. I returned to the Pacific Northwest feeling cleansed and rejuvenated, with significantly lower anxiety, an inner calm I haven’t felt in years and an understanding and respect for the spirit world with which I connected throughout my stay. If you are feeling a calling for deep, spiritual healing, I highly recommend Arkana. My biggest advice: trust the medicine and surrender to it. There are very wise teachings and lessons available to us that are difficult to understand until one directly experiences ayahuasca. It’s not easy work, but with the right attitude it is immensely cleansing and rewarding. The work continues upon one’s return to “reality” and the Arkana staff provide many ideas to help one begin the integration process.

Whether you are a combat vet or someone who is just struggling after separation, this is a great place to help you adjust to whatever you are dealing with. The small group I had at the sacred valley allowed me to build a connection with everyone who visited. This isn’t a company that is looking to make a quick buck. They genuinely care about the people they are helping. The small group atmosphere allows you to build a connection with the other strangers that by the end of the week, feels like a connection you would have made in the military. The location is breathtaking and the schedule allows time for reflection if you choose, or you can go out on one of their many activities that they have planned that will keep you busy. The facilitators are more than accommodations to your needs. One of my biggest fears going into this as a meat eater was that I wasn’t going to like the food but that was certainly not the case. The fruit that they had put on a 24/7 bases was hands down the best food I’ve had in my life and I did not have one bad meal, I didn’t even have one OK meal, they were all delicious. I would highly recommend this retreat to anyone who wants to try plant medicine for the first time veteran or not. However as a veteran I couldn’t imagine going elsewhere and getting the same type of care as I got here. Truly one of the best trips I’ve taken. 12/10

My experience at Arkana Sacred Valley was so much more than I could have imagined. All of the planning and logistics before arriving made things clear and easy to follow. Upon arrival to to the center we were welcomed with open arms, music, and smiling faces! After a little orientation to get acquainted we were shown our rooms and Javier helped with our luggage. The accommodations around the property and the rooms themselves were more comfortable than expected and everything within the retreat center is well maintained. The food is Par To None! All fresh ingredients right from the Sacred Valley and recipes everyone was asking for! The Facilitators there did an amazing job. Coleman was so helpful in delivering all of the information, answering any questions and translating Spanish to English at all times throughout the process. Fernanda was like your favorite Tia (Aunt) she has a warmth and strength to her that helped guide us through the ceremonies. Julian has a calm soul that makes you want to be like him once you know his insight and his performance with his guitar makes the heart sing! The entire staff at Arkana Sacred Valley that takes care of the grounds, prepares the food, and takes care of all of the behind the scenes are caring, welcoming and professional. Throughout the Ceremonies I experienced different transformations and learned so many lessons along the way. My life is forever changed from this place. Special thanks to Gloria for her healing art of Reiki and Acupressure, as well as Julia for her magical hands within her massage therapy. Jose’s yoga sessions were unlike any I’ve experienced and will change my practice forever. The family I’ve gained not only in the Arkana Maestros (Shamans) Wilma and Hermino, the facilitators, the entire staff, but also the members that were along side of me in the retreat as well! This has been the most amazing experience of my life. I have seen profound healing within my body and my mind. I can take so many lessons away from here to continue to put into practice in my daily life. If you’re a person experiencing doubt, go to Arkana Sacred Valley and see this powerful plant medicine for yourself. It is all within us to heal and there is nothing to be fearful of. Life contains everything we need right within the path we walk and the friends and family we share. I am grateful for this time here in Peru, I am grateful to the plant medicines for their healings and teachings I am grateful to Arkana and I am grateful for this life . Truly transformative, I love you all, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Wow, have just left the Retreat Center after being there 3 weeks. The energy, the healing, the love I received during this time, is beyond belief. There have been so many wonderful changes within me during this time, which will stay with me in my heart forever.

The Shamans are wonderful, they listen, they are true
to the Shipibo Ancestral healing of the Ayahuasca plant. The facilitators, Fernanda, Coleman, Julio, Julian, work endlessly to help each and every person
have a smooth journey. Their music abilities are amazing and so much fun! The ceremonies are held with love & respect for the medicines - Rape,
Ayahuasca , San Pedro.

The food, well, there wasn’t a single meal where the
group had complaints. Absolutely in tune with the Dieta, a lot of ingredients coming from the gardens they maintain and grow all year round. Flavorful and
delicious. They also have 3 different teas available 24/7 and a huge bowl of fruit always sits on the main counter.

The rooms are very comfortable and clean, the beds so comfortable, with Alpaca blankets and duvets.
Showers had lots of hot water and they were clean! So impressed. They have laundry day on Wednesdays and most times, it’s back in the room by Thursday
afternoon, in plenty of time before your week(s) are starting or finishing.

They also have a dog named Max, 3 cats, all loving and entertaining.

Daniella and her assistant, run a smooth show, keeping guests organized, transportation arranged, different food requirements with the kitchen in order to keep everyone healthy.

There is a covered but open gazebo, perfect to
lounge around during free time, getting to know the group with you, sharing experiences, love.

The grounds are kept in great shape, lots of trees, flowers, green grass, many lounge chairs in different areas to allow companionship or privacy.

Can not express how much I’ve learnt, how my heart has opened up, how much I appreciate Pachama, her bounties, her love. Arkana has given me a new and beautiful outlook on life, filled with wonder, grace, and unconditional love. There is a calmness in my heart, a serenity I’ve never felt before. Had some flight issues last night and into the morning light - I handled it with patience and appreciation for the girls at the airport - a month ago, it wouldn’t have been so easy.

Thank you Arkana, for allowing my light to shine, my heart to open……forever grateful for my new family!
I’ll be back soon! ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏😊

I went to Arkana Sacred Valley for a one-week ayahuasca retreat with my husband and it was the most transformational experience I ever had. I hadn’t even heard about ayahuasca when my husband and I first decided to take a trip to Peru. He knew a little about it from a friend twenty years ago and it has been on his radar since then. So, we did a whole lot of research about ayahuasca and the numerous retreats in Peru and decided on Arkana. They had a lot of clear details on their website which gave me a sense of security and I am so grateful that we chose Arkana. We had a Skype meeting with an Arkana facilitator before going which they do with all their participants, and he answered everything that was still in question.

We were greeted at Arkana with traditional music. The grounds are cozy with hammocks, a yurt and comfortable chairs to sit and meditate in or to hang out and chat with the other retreaters. There is a bounty of fruit and tea is always available. I was also pleasantly surprised at the rooms which were comfortable and had a private bathroom with shower. The meals were fresh and tasty although I did miss my spices, which are not a part of the ayahuasca diet.

I loved all the activities and workshops that were planned: the morning yoga, the temazcal (sweat lodge), the sound healing and breath work; it was all well organized and supported the other work we were doing. Which leads me to the ayahuasca ceremonies.

I admit that I arrived with some hesitation, but I have never had such an informative and transformational experience in my life. The shamans were sensitive and made me feel safe and each ceremony was unique and extremely powerful. I learned so much about myself; my past, my present, my emotions and thoughts and it allowed a powerful clarity that continues informing me every day. The supporting facilitators were also fabulous; so giving, loving, kind and present. I felt safe and well taken care of in their hands. You are given a personal arkana (chant/song) by the shaman in your last ceremony that they record and send to you. I listen to mine often so that I can connect, be supported and reminded of my time. It has proved to be extremely useful.

I also tried Sapo and San Pedro which they offered. I had an incredible Sapo experience which connected me to a Universal Love that filled me completely. I felt completely safe and cared for in this ritual. I had the best massage while I was there too. Overall, my time at Arkana is a time I will never forget.

I visited the Arkana spiritual centre sacred valley location in early February and wanted to wait a couple of weeks to write this review to ensure that the afterglow that typically follows an ayahuasca experience didn't inflate my review.

I can say with 100% confidence that my opinion today is just as strong as it was when I left Arkana.

Everything about the experience is top notch. The facilitators are excellent and clearly experienced dealing with difficult situations. We were also quite fortunate to have maestra Justina with us that week. Never have I felt so much spiritual energy from someone. Likewise, the other shamans we had at Arkana that week oozed spirituality and are clearly masters of their craft.

I personally had a rather rough first evening, seeing a lot of family / ancestral trauma and not being quite prepared for what I saw. Nonetheless, the shamans and facilitators here made me feel safe and allowed me to fully explore the depths of my family trauma. They created a safe space where there was no judgment and all members of our group were able to connect, feel safe and secure and explore our respective intentions. And as difficult a trip you may experience you never feel alone and can sense their presence supporting you, almost as they are holding your hand while mother ayahuasca shows you what you need to see.

The food and accommodations were excellent. Also, the tours included in the package complemented the experience with our guide, Raphael, providing some much needed perspective on life and supporting our integration in the process.

This set up a beautiful week for me where I was able to deal with some deeply held resentment toward my parents that started in my childhood and give me some strong tools I can use going forward to continue my self development and healing.

I also highly recommend the optional Sapo 5-m-e-o experience. The intensity of that experience, while brief, was one of the most powerful experiences I've had in my life. I felt like I was finally able to be honest with myself and others about who I am and let go of so much pain I had been carrying for much of my teenage and adult life. Truly a life changing experience and worth the investment.

My thanks to José for creating this experience and sharing it with the world. Gracias José!

It has been a 1 year since my 2 week visit with Arakana in the Sacred Valley. I have so much gratitude to all that was apart of my experience and whom mother ayahuasca has put on my path today. I could not have asked for a better group of healers to work with;the group was 13 participants each week which was inclusive enough, the food was divine, the daily agenda is well thought out to serve you, and the environment is completely safe. You are in good hands here!

An Ayahuasca retreat is not something that is 'easy'. It brings up a lot of emotions and makes me feel pretty vulnerable during ceremony and afterward as I reflect on what happened. During my second retreat with Arkana, I realized more many things that go in to creating a space for 15-20 different people from all walks of life to come and do challenging work and undergo some serious transformations. I am SO THANKFUL for everything Arkana does to make these retreats an amazing experience for each and every person there. The staff, from the night time security guard and cleaners to the facilitators, are all incredibly friendly, helpful, and just seem to understand exactly what you are going through no matter what! They are all willing to help with whatever you might need, even when sometimes it's just a smile and a hello. The facilities are set up in a way that you never don't have anything that you feel you might need. Everything is taken care of! During the ceremonies, I've never felt so safe and supported by the team of facilitators that I am able to completely let go and be vulerable to whatever the medicine throws at me. The high level of care given during ceremony is reflective of the high level of care given before, during, and after each retreat. Coming back my second time, I was a little apprehensive about the younger overall team of facilitators than I had experienced before, but was quickly blown away by all of their professionalism, maturity, and knowledge of this process. I continued to be so impressed each and every ceremoney with how smoothly everything ran! These people are truly hand picked because of the level of service they provide and their passion for this medicine. If you are looking to experience an Ayahuasca retreat, it is important that you feel safe and are able to let go during your retreat, and the combination of great accomodations, amazing food, and most of all a top level team make Arkana the only place I will ever go to for my Ayahuasca retreats! I have had life-changing weeks with these guys and will be back many times! Thanks to everyone at Arkana for everything you do!!
