The Altiplanico is one of the new breed of designer B&Bs which have sprung up in recent years. Everything is well designed and his position is very good, just opposite the museum of contemporary art and a stone throw from the underground (Bellas Artes), plus other points of interests you would spot by simply googling the location. My room was comfortable but there were details that were lacking, for example sockets are annoyingly located underneath the desk (which to their credit is very large), this makes it a nuisance when plugging all the array of adaptors one has to travel with these days. There is a very small public area (a couple of couches) as the rest is taken over by bistro like breakfast tables. Breakfast is OK with a daily selection of fruits and an espresso coffee maker, as well as the usual bits and pieces you would expect. It's well provided but it lacks something, for example some freshly baked croissants instead of just bread (beware of the wholemeal which is very stodgy!). Rooms have coffee making facilities, but you will need to purchase the pods. Personally, I would have preferred a kettle and a few teabags/instant coffee for free than a coffee maker, which I bet for the most part gets unused. There's good WiFi across the hotel (top marks for that). Staff are cordial enough, if a little aloof. Where I struggle with this hotel is by its complete lack of catering services outside of breakfast. Nobody expects a full restaurant in an area surrounded by such outlets, but it would have been really useful if at the end of a day's touring (and it can get very tiring in Santiago!) a guest could access basics like a sandwich or cakes for example, or if the hotel arranged for a delivery service of these items even. So I concur this is a good establishment, but one where style reigns over function.

This was my second stay at this hotel. The best thing about it is the staff who are wonderful in terms of offering information and fixing any issues you have with tours booked elsewhere or any of the other problems travelers can encounter. Always friendly, fun and efficient. Hotel is also in a great location so that most of the tourist sights are within walking distance and there are lots of restaurants in the area. Staying here I have never had to use taxis or the metro except to the airport. Rooms are comfortable and well-maintained with a good breakfast. Only issue at the moment is the lack of a lift which was operating during my first stay. This might be an issue for people with mobility problems. It didn't bother me but it may bother some people. A highly recommended hotel which is a great place as a base to explore Santiago.

Lovely small hotel in a great location opposite the Bellas Artes museums and a short walk from your compulsory ceviche at the Mercado Central or the rich mix of restaurants around the Catholic University. Also handy for Bellas Artes metro.

Its special features include a lift ….. but only for your baggage, not for you ! And a Nespresso machine in each room (bring your own capsules, buy at some supermarkets or for $2000 at reception). Small fridge to keep your drinks cool. Breakfast is OK - eggs, coffee/tea, juice, bread/cheese/ham/jam, yoghurt.

Staff friendly, airport taxi $20000 at time of writing (remember inflation). Good quality bathroom. Small balcony. Airco.

This is a very basic hotel in the centre of a very busy city.

After staying in so many wonderful hotels on our trip around Chile we were quite disappointed with the standard of the Bellas Artes.

The lift to the bedrooms was only safe for suitcases apparently so fortunately we were not struggling with mobility. The room was large but very noisy, on the road side and traffic was still noisy until at least 3am.

Breakfast was very basic. We sat in a small courtyard with a few tables set out. One table had plates that must have been left out for a while as they were covered in a not very appetising grey dust.

No other services available - no bar or restaurant which seems odd.

This is a comfortable and convenient hotel in the heart of Santiago. The location is excellent and you can walk to the Mercado Central, Plaza de Armas, the Bellas Arts museums, and other attractions. It is also within walking distance from good restaurants. The rooms are large and very clean. The hot water in the shower is great! Breakfast is good and many of the staff are very helpful. However, the first day we checked in, the person at the front desk gave us keys to a room that still had the suitcases of guests who had yet to complete their check out. We only learned about this after we had gone up three flights of stairs, which was unfortunate. And then we had to wait for about 15 minutes for him to give us keys to another room which needed to have the beds made. It is also odd that the elevator is only for suitcases and not for people. So if you need to have an elevator this is not the hotel for you. Nevertheless, this is still a convenient hotel and good value for money. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Myself and my fiance stayed at this hotel in Santiago Chile.

Location, was good it was conviniant for us to walk around and get to our destinations without using Uber or a taxi. Also it's close by to restaurants, cafes if need be.

Room, was good the bed was comfortable also has Air condition as the room does get a little hot later in the day. The shower was amazing very spacious only two issues I had with the room was the following. The mini bar fridge was empty but also does not get cold so can't store any soft drinks inside, the noise from constant buses that pass by is constant through the night and does tend to get irratating so if you a light sleeper I don't suggest this.

Breakfast, was a little disappointing when we came down all we saw was two yoghurts, four slices of bread covered in plastic for you to toast juice box that kids normally get for school and a coffee machine. There could have been a little more effort in this part I was really looking forward to some eggs but unfortunately not. There is no breakfast menu or notification of what will be served from day to day so the standard is two juice boxes , coffee , four slices of bread.

Staff, super friendly don't have anything negative to say about. Oh also with regards to staff they have a little helper who's name is Celu who is a female puppy that walks around greeting the guest as they enter the hotel.

Overall a good hotel if you plan on visiting Santiago Chile.

This hotel is in a very good location being across the road from the Museo de Belles Arte. However, the rooms are so small and tight, one feels like living in a monk's cell. But this is a renovated house, so to maximize space, rooms are small. The ground floor rooms don't have much natural light. The people working at the hotel are very friendly. Breakfast is provided. From this hotel, you can get to the Cathedral and main square with several museums around the square within 15 to 20 minutes of casual walking.

Excellent service when being checked in late evening. We took advantage of the ground floor lounge to make a cup of tea and relax before heading up to our quiet room and comfortable bed. The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of a number of sights and staff are helpful with directions, airport transfers etc.
The continental breakfast was fresh and plentiful.
Highly recommended.

My wife and I had a great week’s vacation at the Altiplanico. Magdalena at the front desk was so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful - we deeply appreciate her. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast each day was an assortment of meats, cheeses, fruit and pastries … great coffee and juice. Location is superb for those who want to be in the heart of the city. Highly recommended!!

The hotel was nice enough but we expected more for the price and star rating. (I've read this is not uncommon in Santiago.) We moved rooms due to a large crack on the ceiling above the bed in the first room we were assigned. They moved us without complaint and the next room was fine. Breakfast was very basic, and so was the general decor and tone of the hotel. On the plus side, the neighbourhood was convenient and safe, hotel staff were friendly, and there was a comfortable lounge area in the lobby where you can make yourself coffee and tea all day.

Good Day Clairton, just opposite the duty free, just before you collect your luggage there is a money changer and a transport company that sell taxi coupons. You can book your ride to the hotel from them which cost about 22,000 pesos. problem with this is when you come out of the airport, every man and his dog is trying to snatch the coupon off you, so you have to be very careful who you give the coupon to. Alternatively you can ask the hotel to arrange the transfer for you which cost 20,000 pesos. They will have someone with your name standing outside to meet you like any other airport. Have a fun, enjoyable and safe travel.

I was cruising to East Island with Cunard and not landing there as they have limited visitor allowed to the island. For cruise ship it needs at least 12 months to apply embarking the island and once again it has limit as well.
