Detailed Reviews
Not sure what a 3* is supposed to look like in Chile but to North American standards, this is a 1*. The location is great, only a few blocks from some of the greatest places to visit. The hotel is facing a walking path and therefore your taxi will drop you off around the corner from the hotel. Don't forget to visit the terrace on the 3rd floor. The staff were wonderful and welcoming.

We stayed here on two occasions, coming back the second time because the bargain price and location fit our needs.
The hotel is located in a busy section of Santiago on the top few floors of an office building. It feels like a throw back to the 60s or 70s, but in fact the room was spacious, quite comfortable and very quiet by Santiago standards. The decor was definitely dated but in good condition. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom just fine. The room was clean and well cared for, as was the hotel.
Breakfast was typical Chileno, and in a nice setting.
Check in and out was efficient, friendly and professional. Ditto for the staff overall.
This is no fancy, hip hotel, but it provides excellent value for money, is in a good location, and is clean and comfortable. You can't go wrong here.

I visited Santiago, Chile prior to a Holland American cruise for one night. We wanted to be close to the central square. My travel agent in the US had difficulty finding a hotel to fulfil our wants. I found latintrip.com or Chile-hotels.com or Chile-tours.com on the web. With their service I was able to arrange airport to hotel and hotel reservations. Rosemery Alzamora was very helpful and honest. The Hotel Santa Lucia is within 500 paces from the Plaza. It is very clean. The service is excellent, especially the desk clerks. The breakfast was superior. The room furnishings are somewhat frayed and worn but clean and serviceable. An excellent location with excellent value.

This is an older hotel, much in need of a refresh. There is no AC (open window with no screen, but thankfully also no bugs), but they do provide a room fan. Still, not really adequate on a hot summer night. There’s an elevator to the 4th floor lobby, but none between room floor of 3-5; anyone with mobility issues will have difficulty. The breakfast room and garden patio are nice, and on the 3rd floor. The continental breakfast was very adequate, but only had powdered juices. The staff was helpful, and most spoke some degree of English. The location in the city was about the only plus.

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing us for your stay in Santiago and thank you for your valuable feedback. I would like to start by apologizing on behalf of the entire team for not being able to fulfill your expectations during your stay with us. I would like to use this opportunity to let you know that we are in the middle of a full renovation process. In all of the fourth floor, we have our newly renovated superior rooms that include, among many other features; Air conditioning and roller shades with black out and screen. In the same floor, we also have rooms for guests with mobility issues. Also, our front desk team is always ready to help you with your luggage using the service elevation we have. I would also like to let you know that we are constantly making improvements to our breakfast. We do not serve powder juice, we serve pulp juice that comes bottled. We hope you can try our superior rooms in the future so we can show you how good we really are.

Hotel Santa Lucia is a clean, comfortable, and affordable hotel well located in Santiago Centro, within walking distance of many great restaurants and attractions. Staff is very kind, polite, and helpful. Great breakfast served right to our room! Everything felt very clean and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Overall, very comfortable stay. Thank you!

Right on the heart of the city, its perfect placement and amazing staff made our staying even better. You have to enjoy the breakfast, I'm not kidding: it has local flavors and it's to die for. They are prepared to gladly receive you during summer and winter seasons.

Dumpy, old hotel but has an excellent location, fairly inexpensive. Limited breakfast entrees. Reminded me of a hotel in the Cass Corridor of Detriot that smelled of "old". Staff were very nice and extremely helpful despite not much English spoken.

We had a great stay at Santa Lucia. Centrally located to everything. Surrounded by Museums, Monuments, restaurants. Lider (Walmart) across street. Tents are set up throughout the city for walking and shopping for trinkets and things. Uber is available if beyond walking distance. Many city tours available. We used Viator to book and were extremely satisfied.

Hotel is old and below average for me. I had cold shower almost everyday (7 nights) during the winter because they said they had problems with the boiler. But the truth is that their boiler is not big enough to supply the hotel. So they have hot water from 7am to around 7pm only. If you want to have shower after that, you will have a cold one. Very old blankets in the rooms. I much prefer duvets which they didn’t have. Breakfast could be better with some fresh fruits. Be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs as rooms can be one floor up or down and there is no lift access to them. Apart of that, staff are friendly and nice.

Dear Thais, Thank you for choosing us for your stay in Santiago and thank you for taking the time to evaluate us on TripAdvisor, is the best way we have to find opportunities of improvement. I would like to start by apologizing on behalf of the entire hotel staff for not being able to fulfill your expectations with us. Regarding your comment about the hot water, we apologize because we had a problem with one recirculating pump that at night was malfunctioning causing the hot water to take a considerable time to get to the rooms. The pump was replaced by a new one as soon as this was brought to our attention and this problem was solved. About the blankets that you mention, they are replaced according to our bedding replacement program. I would like to use this opportunity to let you know that our recently renovated superior rooms have duvets among many other improvements. Finally, I would like to let you know that our friendly staff is always ready to assist you with your luggage using a special elevator we have for that. We hope you can give us another chance in the future to show you how good we are.
