Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel has all you need for your stay in Santiago. Great staff, plentiful choices for the free breakfast. The location is central to Santiago with public transit available close by.
This hotel is great value and I would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to this city.

Exactly as the heading states, you get what you pay for. No early check in, but we left our luggage in a secure room and set off to explore.
The room was on the 19th floor without a view of the city. Clean with air-con. Breakfast was also on the 19th floor, so forget a lie in, you could hear them laying out the breakfast from early.
It's more an apartment block than hotel.
Good location near the Intel Tower, a good landmark for taxis (£4.00 sterling for a twenty minute journey), but near to the Plaza Italia, demos every Friday not so safe..

Central location although tucked away so initially difficult to find. Staff very friendly. Room large with kitchen facilities, microwave, kettle etc. A bit dated and worn in places. Breakfast a basic continental but adequate.

We were overcharged for 2 people staying in the room. Never seen this happen before. I paid for a room for 2 people, and when I got there they charged us an extra 80 USD for two people to stay in the room. We had no choice but to pay. Then we got to the room just to find out the tiny bathtub with plastic curtains where you shower, old furniture, soft bed and old hair dresser. Oh, and the Wifi didn't work the entire time we were there.

Don't stay here.

Room we got is too hot, air conditioning system not working properly. Spoke to the front desk to change the room even offering to pay extra but nothing happened. We are sweating the whole night unable to sleep and get some comfort. Do not book in this hotel.

Entrance is at least 100 feet from the street, in a plaza, which means a vehicle cannot park in front of the entrance. There is no bellman, so you must drag your bags this distance yourself. There are 3 steps up from the registration area to the elevators, and again you have to shlep your bags yourself. No bellman service also means you must find your own room and figure out all the electronic devices yourself. In our case, the key card to our room didn’t work, requiring 3 trips back to the lobby to get someone to come to the room. The key card mechanism in the door needed new batteries. Then the air conditioning remote didn’t work. Another trip to the lobby. It also needed new batteries. The first glass of water from the tap was brown. The room was not twins as we had booked, so we had to wait while housekeeping came and split the bed into twins. The breakfast was meager. No real coffee, just Nescafe. On the day we left we asked the man at the desk at 7 a.m. if we could have a late 2 p.m. check-out. He consulted his computer and said, “Yes.” At 9 a.m. while we waited in the lobby for a tour, the man was gone and there were 2 girls on the desk. They were upset when we told them the tour didn’t return until 1 p.m. and we had gotten the approval for a late check-out. They said it was not possible because they needed the room to be cleaned by 3 p.m. for new guests. Basically I said, “Too bad. Your problem, not mine.” When we returned at 1 p.m., our key cards had been cancelled, effectively locking us out of the room. They re-coded them and we were able to gather up our bags. This hotel is “tired” as well as lacking in basic service. We wouldn’t stay there again. Our advice is to take your chances somewhere else.

I booked originally at the "RQ central suites" but was then redirected to this hotel (santiago suites) without prior notice. I had to walk 2 blocks around the corner to get to the entrance of this other hotel, carrying all luggage. then I had a room in the 19th floor. So far so good. Problem is, that the elevator only reaches till the 14th floor, which means I had to walk 5 floors by foot - carrying all my luggage. Once there I found the room to be OK, spacious and once the air conditioning was turned the air was breathable. CD-Player was not working. I had to call the reception to ask for Wifi, which was OK. You have to carry 4 different remote controls from the reception to your room, as they are handed out there. Unfortunately the emergency exit was blocked, and the staff would rather drink tea than remove the blocking chairs (see image). So I decided to leave the hotel. I would not stay here again, especially because of the lack of security and the 5 floors to walk all time. Maybe the other hotel (which I originally booked) would have been better. Last but not least: Prepare for endless discussions when arriving by car: The guard wont let you in, if you do not have a room number. Explanations, that you are about to check in are nearly useless. I would not choose this hotel again.

Within easy walking distance of shops and places of interest. At the time of our visit there was construction nearby and fortunately a workman guided us to the hotel, otherwise it would have been difficult to find as it is set back in a Plaza.

Overall, the location was good, the hotel was clean and close to the attractions. But one thing you need to aware is the whole building close all the lights electricity at 10:30pm till the next morning 5:30am.

That is not right. Our building does not cut the electrical energy during the night. We regret that the power cut, outside our will and control, that affected a large part of the city, has been misinterpreted. It was a situation out of the ordinary (even the government palace was two hours without power). Thanks for your comment, but it does not conform to reality.

Can't beat the location - close to attractions, metro, supermarket. Friendly staff. Looks new on the outside but the room, especially the bathroom, needs some updating. The shower/tub is very tiny and uncomfortable. No cups supplied in bathroom. There is no cleaning supply in the kitchenet (no dish cloth, no detergent). When questioned about it, the answer was "this is an apartment, not a hotel". The AC unit located right above the bed with cold air blowing straight down on your head was uncomfortable.
