Detailed Reviews
This is a small hotel with 42 rooms. It is in El Centro part of the city overlooking Santa Lucia Park. We had a fantastic room on the 6th floor. Whilst the hotel is in what was an old building, inside it is completely modernised with lots of glass. There is a rooftop bar which overlooks the city and mountains. We stayed at Hotel Magnolia when we arrived in Santiago and then again at the end of our touring holiday. I would happily have stayed there for a week. We ate in the restaurant on a couple of evenings. The food was excellent. The staff were all so welcoming and attentive. If you want a good hotel in a good area I would recommend this hotel.

In 3 weeks of travelling, this was one of my best hotel breakfasts. Also, the room (2 single beds, 6th floor) was clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The hotel itself was a beautiful building and mix of modern and old. We also ate dinner there which was good, if expensive. The staff was all helpful and professional, though some were maybe too cold/proper for my style, but I cannot fault them that, and others were appropriately warm. Any question or request got a thorough answer. The location is great for daytime wanderings as there are several pedestrian roads nearby and at night is rather quiet. And of course the welcome drink (Pisco, wine, or one other option) was appreciated! I do recommend having some tipping cash on hand, and it was tough to get change made from bigger bills. The hotel has 3 floors of old construction and 3 above of new.

+1
I stayed at Hotel Magnolia for four nights and it exceeded all of my expectations. I booked my stay somewhat last minute, so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect with the hotel. However, my trepidation quickly subsided after checking in, and this is now my new favorite hotel in Santiago.
This boutique hotel is elegantly styled, with clean, modern aesthetics throughout the hotel. However, the rooms themselves are warm and ideally designed. I ended up booking a Deluxe Room with Balcony and was really happy with the extra space that the balcony provided. The staff themselves are really wonderful; everyone spoke English very well and they were extremely helpful in doing everything from printing off my COVID test results to recommending places to visit.
The location of the hotel is also ideal. I have stayed in the area around El Golf before (which is very nice), but if you’re looking to explore downtown and most of the key tourists sites, this hotel’s location can’t be beat.
Finally, the food at the hotel was surprisingly excellent. The breakfast spread each morning was ample, but the hotel restaurant (and particularly the rooftop deck) exceeded my expectations. The prices are not on the low end, but the quality was great. My hotel rate included dinner, which ended up being a great decision and deal.
Overall, I loved my stay here and I would absolutely return the next time I’m in Santiago.

This was one of my most favorite hotels to visit on our trip to South America. The hotel is small, with 40 rooms but they are all decorated beautifully. A gorgeous glass elevator, curved floating stairs, and our favorite spot: the rooftop terrace. We were a big group of 12 people and took to the rooftop immediately for drinks and appetizers. We had a gorgeous view of the nearby Castle Hidalgo, which we walked/hiked to later. It was less than half a kilometer away from us and breathtaking.
I love how the room was laid out. The shower and bathroom were both separate from the vanity, enclosed in its own huge glass space. Bed was separated from the bathroom by a vanity wall, and the room was surprisingly very comfortable. Lots of personal touches from a cappuccino machine to hotel slippers & robes. It was very modern, light & airy. We didn't have a view as our room faced inward, but it was still a beautiful room.
Staff was friendly, although I had trouble understanding one as he looked down while he talked and mumbled a bit. Location is unbeatable, it was an easy walk around town and we weren't far from shopping or sightseeing. We will definitely stay here again.

An attractive building in a great location. We stayed here at the beginning and end of our tour of Chile. Each time we received a warm welcome. The first time we checked-out at 5:30 am. and the staff were waiting for us with a breakfast box and take-away coffee. The public spaces are very smart, the rooms are not big but they are very well furnished and appointed with wooden floors and marble bathrooms, TV, fridge and Nespresso machine. Breakfast was very good. The rooftop bar/restaurant is lovely. Again, very nicely furnished, nice food and great cocktails. All the parts are good but the sum is greater and there is something very likeable about this hotel.

This hotel was a very wonderful surprise. It is in a remodeled older building and fits the term boutique hotel to a tee. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We stayed two different times, once on our arrival in Chile and again several weeks later before our departure. When we arrived in mid-morning after an all night flight, we were able to check in early which allowed us to recover from the flight. Our departure from Chile was a late night flight and we were able to extend our stay to mid evening for a nominal cost. The hotel restaurant had an excellent breakfast with great coffee choices and the dinner menu, while not extensive, offered some nice choices that were very well prepared. The location (Bella Artes) was in the older part of Santiago, close to Plaza de Armas, the government center, and several museums, including the PreColumbian that I highly recommend. It is also adjacent to Santa Lucia hill, that is also worth visiting to understand its significance in Santiago's history and for views of the City.

We had a fantastic 3 nights here at the start and end of our Chile trip.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful during our stay and before with many Covid date changes.
The hotel has been beautifully converted with many original features. The rooms were large and very comfortable- worth spending a bit extra for a superior room if you can.
The roof top terrace bar is great.
You’re in a 5 minute walk from Lastarria where there are many great bars snd restaurants- our favourites were Boccanariz for wine/food and Malato for dinner. You’re also within east walking distance of all the main sites.
Breakfast is plentiful and superb
Perfect, individual place to stay if you don’t want to be in the main hotel district.
Our only criticism would be the cost of the car to/from the airport which was quoted at Chilean $40,000 whereas an Uber or airport taxi was around $20,000 and easy to obtain

Writing this review from the bar at the Hotel Magnolia while sipping a perfectly prepared Pisco Sour. I booked this hotel for a last minute trip to Santiago based on location and reviews. Exceeds every expectation and is in my lifetime top 5 for convenience, comfort and plain cool vibe. The hotel sits across from Cerra Santa Lucia and is a quick walk to both the Plaza de Arma and the trendy Barrio Lastarria. I have walked everywhere and felt safe day or night. I arrived bleary eyed at 9 am after a dreadful overnight flight just hoping to dump my bags but in what I felt was a miracle...my serene spa like room and hot shower were ready. The breakfast was quite tasty, the coffee hot and the front desk amazingly helpful. The facade is old and elegant but behind is a modern and high tech interior. My 5th floor room was so quiet, the black out shade were perfect for a quick siesta.
If I could give 6 stars I would.

If you prefer to stay in a boutique hotel, look no further than Hotel Magnolia. The rooms are stylish and lovely, the staff bends over backwards to assist at every turn, and the breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. It's a calm, clean, quiet oasis in the heart of Santiago. It is one of the very best hotels I have ever stayed in, and I have traveled the world.

What a pleasant surprise. I knew nothing about the hotel beforehand. The reservation was made through a company I work for part time. The hotel is housed in an old building and the architects had artfully combined the new with the old. The wood panels everywhere gave it a warm feeling. Room #61 was spacious with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was ultra modern and everything worked. The flat screen TV had all of my favorite channels. A long wooden table with comfortable chairs are located in a library near the lobby area. There is a rooftop bar as well as one in the lobby. There is also a dining room. Centrally located the hotel is just a couple of blocks from the National Museum of Fine Arts and across the street from Santa Lucia Hills. Breakfast was a healthy affair with a variety of bread, cereals, cheeses, fruits and eggs, etc.
The staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the hotel.

Get a taxi but beware of scams. We were charged double the going rate.
The other side of Santa Lucia Hill there are a lot of restaurants with different types of food. They are off Jose Victorino Lastaria. I tried a couple and the food was good. The hotel is also close to The Singular which has a top rate restaurant. Though I didn’t eat there.
Santiago is like any other big city so hard to tell exactly how long it will take. We're always conservative just in case and allow 2 hours for a domestic flight. Santiago airport is a bit crazy also. We allowed an hour to get to the airport and that was at 8.00 PM which worked out fine. So with an 11 am. flight I would want to leave at 8.00 am to get to the airport at 9 and leave at 11 am. As far a taxi is concerned I would allow AUD 40 give or take. Hopes this helps. Obviously it is an indication only. Good Luck and enjoy Santiago! It's a great place.
