We arrived in Pucon on a bus from Chillan (after a train from Santiago) and after the combined 10 hours travel the Hostel Geronimo was a wonderful surprise. There is always an element of suspense when you arrive at a hotel you’ve booked over the internet, but Geronimo was everything that was promised and more. It was within walking distance (European walking distance, not North American!! IE 5 blocks) of everything, including the main street (O’Higgins), the casino, the beach, and various local tour operators. The staff is very friendly and helpful (and while their command of english may not be the best, we got by just fine with our limited command of Spanish and a phrase book! Remember, they speak Spanish in Chile, so you should at least try to speak their language!) While the rooms were on the small side, ours included a double bed, tv, a window that opened, and a private bathroom with a shower stall and was cleaned and had new towels daily. The hotel was very clean, and had a wonderful breakfast every morning including fresh bread, jam and eggs. We had friends staying at two other hotels/hostels in Pucon at the same time and we feel that of the three, Geronimo was by far the best. Overall we very much enjoyed our 5 day stay at the Hostel Geronimo and would recommend it to anyone.

Good value for money, with great views of the Vulcan Villarica. We had a superior double room, and I don't think it was very superior - plus it was superhot in the evenings and at night. I liked that they prepared breakfast in the morning before we headed to our vulcano tour at 6.30 in the morning, and the breakfast overall was quite decent. Not sure if its the best option in Pucón, but definitely not the worst ;)

The staff were very friendly, the location was good, but the rooms were small, and the beds were really bad!!
If you have backproblems, or if you don`t want backproblems, go somewhere else. I really had a hard time sleeping in the terrible bed.

Servicio Mal !!!!!
Awful Service!!!!
If I could give a rating of zero I would have done so.
A lot of noise from outside the street(although we asked for a quiet room)
All the furnitures and the room design is cheap and doesnt seem at all like a hotel.
But Mostly,Mostly terrible service- the manager of the hotel(Hefa Johana Viollargan) treats customers with such a rudeness and disrespect , in a way I have never encountered from hotel staff so far- We sent a couple of clothes to laundry at the hotel with mentioning specifically to make our laundry seperately and not mix it together ,as well as asking not to put our clothes in the dryer machine in any case(among the clothes new expensive clothes)- we were told that we have nothing to worry about and the cleaning would be done only with gentl cold water cleaning, But it wasnt what aventually to haeppen- the next morning we got our clothes , all the clothes were mixed together and many clothes obviously shrinked and were no more useful (sign of using the dryer machine),New 200 USD Arcteryx jacket ,worn just one time ,completely shrinked. When we asked for a compensation the response from the manager was to ask us to send the clothes back to laundry with mentioning that she would try to strech the clothes and try to make the clothes bigger. Obviously we refused and asked for a compensation and not only that the manager refused to do so but also she yelled at us and told us to leave the hotel immidiately- and all done while we still had 1 hour left to CheckOut.

This was a good hotel. It had a very good location in Pucon, good breakfast, good value, and help with transportation etc. Our one complaint was our initial room. We wanted a room with a view and the room we got for the first 2 days of a 5 day stay did not meet that criteria. They moved us for the last 3 days to a wonderful room with a view of the volcano. However, when we got our bill, they price was the same for each day. We felt that we paid extra for the 1st 2 days and should have had a reduction. We didn't push the issue at the time, but we felt it was important to mention it in our review

My first impression from this hostel was ok, although the breakfast was not so great and during the shower the water got very cold.

When I first arrived I asked the manager/owner if there was any problem to leave my valuable stuff (money, card and etc) in the room. She answered there was not problem at all and she did not offered me a locker. So, I relaxed and left part of my money inside a bag inside my suitcase. In my last day, when I search fot the money to pay the hotel and check out, I realized there was U$ 90,00 missing from the bag. It was interesting because whoever took my money did not take it all, but some notes as it was done not to be noticed. I went to talk to the same lady and she told me that her staff has been working with her for 10 years and there was nothing she could do or say to them. She said sorry but did not try to speak to who had access to my room. Before I left she said I should have asked for a locker. But I did not know they had one as when I asked she did not offer. In addition she said I would learn with the experience. I felt the hotel did not care at all about the guests and it seems that I was the one responsible for my money had disappeared from the room which I paid a reasonable price for.
A hotel where stuff is taken from the suitcase inside the room and the staff do nothing to make good a loss, is very bad.

We stayed at this hostel, although it is not really a hostel, it's more like a very good b&b or a comfortable family hotel. The hostel/hotel was spotlessly clean, our en-suite room had all that we needed, including a very comfortable bed, the staff were extremely friendly and the breakfast was as good as you would get anywhere, with plenty of variety. It is located 2 blocks from the main street, close enough to walk there easily but far enough away to be quiet at night. We loved this little hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone. We can't wait to go back there.

We stayed for two nights at Hotel Geronimo. I was very excited based on the positive reviews I read about the hotel. We were extremely unsatisfied. The staff and owners seemed like they were doing us a favor by letting us stay at the hotel. There was zero customer service. When we tried to speak with staff, we were barked at. We had problems checking in based on our reservation being canceled for arriving 2 and 1/2 hours after we had previously told the owners. We tried to ask a question about exploring Pucon and were handed a map and told they did not have time to talk to us about this. There was never a smile or even a simple how are you or how was your stay. We have stayed in many different hotels - ranging from very budget hostels to more luxurious hotels. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Additionally, note the breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Breakfast is not a make it or break it point for me at a hotel, so it was not important to me. If breakfast is important, do not stay here. The first day we were given stale bread, watery jelly, spoiled fruit, birthday cake and lukewarm water for coffee. We skipped breakfast the second day and opted to buy bread and cheese at the supermarket.

Overall, it was a negative experience. There are so many hostels/hotels/cabins in Pucon. Look elsewhere for your stay in Pucon!

Before leaving the United States we had made reservations for two rooms to accommodate all our family including two small children (ages 2 and 4). We drove all day down to Pucon from Santiago and arrived exhausted and looking forward to turning in immediately. The kids were really suffering. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law's Romanian passport was not valid and she had to return home without entering the country. So far, so bad.
When I told the owner of Hostal Geronimo we would only need one room instead of two, she became irate, refused to accommodate us, and threw us out on the street, telling us to try to get another hotel in Pucon during this busy season. Then she laughed in my face.
I don't know about other's experiences, but we had to drive all the way back to Temuco in the middle of the night to stay at the Holiday Inn there and try to build a new vacation.
Ugly, ugly, ugly. Not typical of Chile outside of greedy Pucon.

We were met with very friendly staff upon check-in. The hotel is nicely situated only 5 min walk to center and 10 min walk to beach. The hotel is old and dated but does have a charm about it. The rooms are a bit worn, the shower tiny but all in all comfortable for a day or two.
