There is a swimming pool with terrace at Ember and there is ample parking at the hotel.
The hotel is located a half-hour walk from the center, which is easy to do. I can recommend this hotel to everyone.
fairly noisy from man road.
Breakfast was just ok. Reception area quite nice. Wouldn't go back, I assume there must be better in town.
Pucon itself is a vibrant lovely little village, lots of local arts and crafts, markets and enormous selection of restaurants and cafés, plus of course, the magnificent Lake and Volcano Villarrica.
I've read some other reviews about the size of the rooms. However, we had a HUGE double room on the first floor, first room to the left of the stairs, flat screen TV, big modern bathroom, lovely warm shower with lots of power, hair dryer, large wardrobe and safe, dresser and lots of room for bags. We found the room quiet, with a huge comfy heavenly bed. At night, the lakes area is quite cool in summer, you need to pack warm clothes for the evening, so room was just right for us, no need for aircon.
The hotel is charming, it looks like a big log cabin, but inside it is totally modern. Free wifi downstairs, free computers to use, enjoy the huge lovely lounge overlooking the gardens and hydrangeas everywhere. Plenty of parking too, highly recommend hiring a
car, not for the location of the hotel but because there is SO much to do and see in the area!!!
Very friendly staff, who will give you maps and tell you all the local tips in what to do and see.
Lovely breakfast, hot and cold, in a beautiful setting. You must try the local freshly baked "kuchen" pastry, it is traditionally eaten in the morning.
We were pleasantly surprised by how lovely the hotel was and great value for money.
The bad: there is a lack of cleaning, there is fungus in the bathroom, there is a lack of maintenance in the facilities, for example there are broken pastries, the pastry mats are dirty, there are no pool towels for everyone, the grass is poorly maintained, the pool with mushrooms , as well as the gardens. Ugly decoration of the rooms.
The worst: we were in a room on the first floor. You can hear all the noise from the lobby, the bell at night when someone arrives, the light outside the window turns on when someone passes by and enters the room since it does not have a blackout curtain.
Caterin the best, congratulations👏👏👏the facilities are very good, the food is wonderful, the service is wonderful. We will always recommend it, plus the charming landscape
It looks like Switzerland, I hug caterin
We will always have her in mind
First, the pros. The hotel has quite a cute, rustic feel about it. The rooms and the common areas are very clean and well-kept and the staff were quite friendly, if not always accomodating. Breakfast - included in the price of the room - is tasty, if somewhat limited in scope.
Now, the cons. The hotel is located about a mile away from the lake/center of town. [That could be seen as a pro for many but it does mean one has to consider whether or not one wants to drive/walk into town every day.] Moreover, at $95/night for a basic (albeit clean) two-person room, it runs at the expensive end of the range for the area. [Two points of reference: Ecole, the hosteria located in town on General Urrutia costs about $50/night for two people with a private bath, while the Antumalal Hotel, at the higher end of the scale, costs about $200/night but boasts in-room fireplaces and lake views from every room.] Finally, we did not find the staff as accomodating as we would have liked. Specifically, while we stayed in the hotel, road works resulted in the water main being cut, leaving the entire hotel without water (showers, faucets, toilets, the works....) for nearly 5 hours (from 6pm until after 10pm). Granted, the lack of water was not the fault of the hotel, but one can imagine the horror of not being able to flush the toilet for that period of time. We complained to the manageress and requested that we be refunded the cost of 1 night's stay by way of restitution for the inconvenience (recall that we stayed a total of four nights at $95/night). After much to-ing and fro-ing we were offered 50% off the price of the one night, an offer we considered unsatisfactory, particularly given the hotel's rates are already above market average for the area.
Needless to say, the experience left us with a bad taste in our mouths (in a manner of speaking).
"Room on the backyard is quietest. Stipulate if you want a double bed, otherwise you may get two single beds in a small room."Read full review
