Detailed Reviews
Located just two blocks off of the main street of O'Higgins, Hostal Muller is the perfect place to stay when exploring Pucon. My family and I stayed for 5 nights at the Hostal and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The rooms were great and the service amazing. Walter and Pola really went out of there way to ensure we had an amazing overall stay. My family and I stayed in the 5 person bedroom upstairs and there was plenty of space and very clean. The breakfasts in the morning were simple but were filling and if you ever wanted extra items for breakfast you could ask Walter or Pola to make them for you for a small fee. The common area is very nice with access to books, tv, and comfy couches all beside a warm stone fireplace.
When in Pucon be sure to spend as much time as you can in the outdoors seeing the beautiful surrounding lakes, forests, and volcanoes. My family and I climbed the volcano on the second day we were there and it was well worth the tough climb to the top. If you are considering doing the climb in the off season it is much harder than climbing during the peak season as it requires a fairly high fitness level and is frequently icy and windy towards the top. With out a doubt I would suggest climbing with "Sumit Chile" a Canadian / Chilean run low key guiding company based out of Urrutia street. The guide Claudio speaks excellent English and is by far the most knowledgable guide on the mountain. The day we hiked, all of the other tour groups waited at the base of the final ascent while Claudio and our group went up first so that the other guides would know which route to take. We ended up being on the Summit all by ourselves for 45 minutes before all the other companies arrived in a mass of people! Another highlight of our stay in Pucon was Canyoning on the Pillan river with "Canyoning Pucon". I would not suggest this activity for anyone with a fear of water or heights, however if you those do not apply to you than you will have a great time! It was a great mixture of swimming, cliff jumping into waterfalls and ziplining that proved to be a fun filled afternoon. The guide with "Canyoning Pucon", Miguel, was very nice, fun and very safety oriented which is what sets "Canyoning Pucon" apart from the other companies that offer canyoning in the surrounding rivers. If you are staying any longer in Pucon be sure to check out the beautiful and relaxing Geothermicas hot springs, and hour and a half drive from Pucon!
I have no doubts whatsoever when I say that Hostal Muller is one of the best places to stay in Pucon, and I would highly recommend that you stay here if you are ever in the area!

We arrived early & Walt happily invited us to use the common room and grab some breakfast. He helped us plan our trips for our long weekend in Pucon which we appreciated.
Our room on the first floor was comfortable & clean with natural light.
We enjoyed the breakfast each morning, the central location (quick walk to many restaurants, bus terminal etc), chatting to guests in the common room and been able to store our bags after check out etc .
We will be back when we next return to Pucon! I would call this a B&B as opposed to a hostal.

We've stayed 3 nights at Muller's, which is run by Walter & Pola, a very very nice and humble couple.
Walter gave us any useful information we needed, with a lot of patience.
The location is good - close enough and far enough from the center.
Good breakfast, good wifi, warm rooms. We've enjoyed it - You won't be disappointed !

Nothing to complain about cleanliness.
What is unacceptable is that rooms of completely different levels are sold at the same price. We were two couples; my brother and his wife were assigned a room (number 4) corresponding to the reservation, while my wife and I were assigned a microscopic room (number 1), less than 10 m2 in size, without a wardrobe, without not even a chair and no heating in the bathroom. It was so cold that we gave up on showering. With the bags placed on the ground there was barely room to move.
Too bad we paid the same price for both rooms!
When I pointed out the problem they tried to apologize by saying that the room was on offer: it's a shame that my brother's room was also on offer and in any case, buying something on offer does not mean getting something shoddy and not corresponding to what was offered in exchange. .
In the end they offered me a discount on my next stay, knowing full well that I will hardly return to Chile.
Very friendly staff even though they only speak Spanish. In a tourist facility you expect some English to be spoken.
Furthermore, there is no telephone and the boy on duty at night had no credit on his cell phone. We had an emergency and to call a taxi to the hospital we had to use our phone (luckily we had bought a Chilean card). Unacceptable!

Hostal Muller was just right for me because I wanted a cozy, comfortable B&B and because of its location. With regards to the latter, it is located only a few minutes from most bus terminals, which is very convenient if you depend on buses for transfers and sightseeing, as I did. Moreover, Hostal Muller is also close to everything in the centre of Pucon. The B&B itself is very clean and well presented. I had a spacious room, no. 4 (IV) on the first floor - it is highly recommended. This room also has a large bathroom. The noise from the nearby room no. 5 (V) could be annoying, but it didn't bother me. Breakfast was fine. Another highlight is a wonderful common room, where one can relax, read or watch TV. Last, but perhaps most important, the owners Walter and Pola were just fantastic. They were friendly and kind and Walter went out of his way to give suggestions about what to see and do in and around Pucon. I certainly enjoyed their company and the overall stay at Hostal Muller.

Using the term Hostal to describe this place is a disservice, it is really much more of an Inn, with the most helpful owner (Walt) that I could possibly imagine. When I was in need to Spanish translation services (to change our domestic travel plans), Walt took charge and called airlines, rental car agencies and the local bus company to figure something out ... he even walked me to the bus station to help me purchase tickets for my family; and the icing on the cake, was when he found some coupons for free pisco sours at our favourite local restaurant / cafe (Trawen). The living room is super-cozy, with a fireplace that was perfect for drying our wet boots. And our upstairs room was charming and spacious, with a heater that absolutely cranked out the heat (we turned it back off after 30 minutes).

We stayed at Hostal Muller for 4 nights and had the bunk-bed room. Although small, we found both the room and the bathroom to be very functional. The room has a nice size closet and a heater that kept us very nice and warm in September. It was exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable. The location could not be better - two blocks from the Main Street with all the restaurants, shops, and tour offices but still tucked away from all the noise. It's literally around the corner from JAC bus terminal and also local bus station, which was super convenient for all the day tours to the volcano and hikes. The breakfast is great and kitchen is available for use if you need to cook in. Our hosts were also great and very helpful in planning our days, even let us borrow beach towels for our quick visit to hot springs. We felt very welcome and at home the entire stay.

We spent 3 nights here and couldn't have been happier! We luckily ended up in the upstairs apartment,it included a full kitchen and was a lovely, quiet, sunny, and roomy retreat. The owner, Walter, was very kind and accommodating! We left very early on our last morning, and breakfast was laid out for us and waiting. Highly recommended! Ask for the upstairs apartment, you will love it!

We've just left after three nights at Hostal Müller and, from the moment we arrived, we knew we had made a great decision As we knew you were full before this, we have booked 2 night (from tomorrow) at the Hostal Buena Estancia.staying here. Hostel owners Walter and Pola were incredibly friendly and helpful, even offering to drive us up to the Geometricas hot springs on our first afternoon - complete with scenic guided tour of the areas surrounding Pucòn! They also provided a great breakfast and Walter even got up early to make sure we left on a full stomach before a day trekking at Huerquehue National Park.
Pucòn was fairly quiet when we went in October 2015, but it was still a fantastic place to stay and somewhere we'd definitely like to return to - maybe to climb the volcano next time, if it's stopped erupting!!! If we do, we'll make sure we time it for when Hostel Müller has availability! Thanks again to Walter and Pola - ultimate hosts.

The place is cute and small, perfect for a cozy stay. We've got the smallest room in the hostel, but with a private bathroom and the owners were worried that we were not gonna like it, wrong!!! We liked it a lot!
The breakfast is superb! And they don't let you clean after yourself (which is odd for a Hostel), so even better!!!
The have a chimney where you can hang out! Cant wait to be back for winter time!
