I've been in Hostal Andes Pucon twice and this second time I could see that they have improved several things... a better warming system, a great breakfast with homemade bread, fruit, pies, besides the always comfortable rooms and main living room. I didn't have the chance of tasting the pizzas, but I've been told they are goooood. This hostal is only 2 years old and I bet it will be getting better.

They give you a remote control for the car main entrance, so you can come back late at night. The place is quiet, far for main streets and the town center, which you can reach walking (10-15 min), by car (3 min), by colective taxi (5 min). The location is within a secondary road, but It was being paved when I was there (Feb. 2014). There are supermarkets very close and there you can get almost everything.

When you want to book an outdoor activity, the owner - who speaks english - helps you a lot, giving you the contacts or doing the arrangements for you, himself. (Trekking, Kayaking, Fishing, Fly Fishing, Hot spring journey, Lake activities, etc)

We were 4 and stayed 3 nights. The price was very convinient in relationship with the quality.

Pros: the place is located off the downtown area, so no loud late-night music. Beds were really firm and comfortable, which is a must because of my lower back problems. I had no communication problems since the owner could speak English reasonably well. Bathroom clean, heating Ok (we visited in late winter).
Cons: shortage of rubbish bins, no glass in bathroom, no pedestrian entrance (only car gate), hard to find at night (owner explained street sign pointing to the location had recently being knocked down due to a car accident).
Summary: I would return.

After visiting some friends staying at Hostal Andes Pucon, I decided to change my hostal to this one. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Good bedding. There is a large common area in which you can hang out or dine. The furniture in the common area and in the rooms is beautiful and made by local woodworkers. The breakfast was complete with homemade bread, fresh-cut melon, eggs made as you like them, cheese, deli meats, cereal, yogurt, milk, and more. The best hostal/hotel breakfast I had on my 2 week trip! The owner/manager named Ronald is very friendly and helpful. He is Chilean and speaks English in case you need help with any translation. If you are looking for comida tipica (local food) ask him for a his favorite secret spot to eat lunch. I loved his recommendation. There is also a little backyard in case you want to make your own barbecue/asado. One group did when I was staying there. They also offer eats from the kitchen. Location is 10-15 walk outside the center, which makes it quiet but close to town. Grocery stores are even closer! Fruit/veggie stand is only 3 minute walk away. Taxis to the center or bus station are cheap.

Booked with them online. There was a problem with the payment, so they contacted me. Then IMMEDIATELY proceeded to give the room to someone else, without waiting for my call.
I would have even gladly paid extra, but I guess they couldn't even pretend to care about their clients.

I do not return to this accommodation in Pucón. Since I booked the published promotion two nights en suite with jacuzzi. When I arrived, they sent me to a common room, saying it was the same and it wasn't. In the rooms you hear everything. The next day a person working in the room opposite started drilling with drill at 8.30 am was Sunday!!

I have nothing good to say about my stay at this Hostal. The room was not clean, and felt very dirty to sleep in. The breakfast was disgusting and Ronald at the front was very rude. I do not recomend this Hostal

I spend a week in Hostal Andes Pucon, the experience was brilliant, the owner was very nice, he gave us the best tips for adventure tours and everything. The breakfast is perfect, pizzas are bloody tasty!! I have been in many hotels and hostals around the world, and Hostal Andes Pucon is one of the best hostals i have been matching price + quality. Few steps away from the town centre, the nature and everything was brilliant. Ronald Garrido and Belen thank you for your hospitality!

Going to Chile knowing no Spanish was a challenge, but our visit to Puncon turn out great largely by our choice of hotels. The hostel was a 10 min walk, was very nice, clean & quiet. Best part was the owner, Ronald. - he arranged for our volcano trek, hot springs, drove us to town to buy bus tickets and took us to the bus when we left.

Stayed for a couple of nights and loved the house, in keeping with Pucon tradition everything is made of wood and nicely decorated. The rooms are pleasant and comfortable and it is in a very quiet leafy street, although it is about a fifteen minute walk to town. When we were there the dirt road outside was being worked on which made the walk a bit dirty and treacherous but once that is over I'm sure it will be fine.

The staff are very young and friendly and the owner has a very friendly (also large) dog who lives outside.

My only gripe was with the shower and basin in the bathroom, the shower head and tap both spray far too widely and are therefore not very efficient. Also it was impossible for me to get the water temperature in the shower to a medium one, it's pretty much either very hot or very cold.

I've had the pleasure to stay at Hostal Andes during my visit to Chile for one week in August 2013. The new house mostly made out of wood looks really nice and cosy. Despite the comfortable interior and the generous rooms the service is excellent. Ronald and Belen do everything that makes your stay more convenient - flexibel and open to requests! TV in bedrooms, big and comfortable beds and the bathrooms are clean. I'm looking forward to my next stay!
