The staff are delightful and very helpful. Pucon is a lovely town and this hotel is right in the centre near to the many restaurants and shops.
The rooms are well sized and have a very nice, modern interior.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. When my wife got sick, the recptionist drove us in her free time to the hospital, translated there for the doctor and found out where the next, open pharmacy was!
If you have trouble sleeping head somewhere else, for me it was very good.
Will come again to save money and enjoy a good location (just in front of the best rated restaurant. I guess I would come with the wife though (too much noise from the stairs, aisle and pipes).
No heating or air conditioning, or even a fan, within the rooms means that it is very difficult to control room temperature. Our north-facing room had the sun streaming in through the window - we stayed in summer & it was very hot - but with the curtain drawn, we could not open the balcony door (which was the only way to regulate room temperature). An unsheltered balcony, uncomfortably hot. In winter could be OK, but as the rooms are unheated as mentioned, I think that would be a problem as well.
Breakfast was very basic: cereal, toast, ham, cheese & jam. No wi-fi.
Saving grace is that the Parilla restaurant just across the road is really good!
The hotel itself is very nice and clean. It doesn't have any lifts so don't stay here if you can't do stairs. We had to carry our own bags up the stairs which wasn't a problem for us but might be for others. our room was fine, not huge but it had a balcony and the bed was comfortable.
Breakfast is good and they have local produce which makes it interesting. That is the only meal they do. Wifi is free and available in the room. Oddly for a hotel there is no laundry service.
Some staff speak english and the hotel also offers free access to some thermal pools.
As you can see it's a slightly unusual place but it worked for us as we wanted to eat in town and quite a few hotels are slightly out of town.
We were there off season and Pucon was quiet, in peak season the population triples, as I suspect do the prices!
Highly recommended.
There is a great restaurant opposite, a Uruguayan steakhouse. Expensive, but the meals are so huge you only ned one course. We shared a rump steak with all the extras and it was more than we could manage.
