Having decided to return to the Falklands as an ‘82 Veteran since my last visit in early ‘84, my buddy & I needed accommodation. As the normal place for Vets to stay wasn’t available, we sought out alternative accommodation and found Lafone House. Well, we couldn’t haven been made to feel more welcome by the proprietor Arlette and her daughter Glynis. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was cooked fresh, packed lunches provided as an extra and the rooms clean, bright with comfortable beds. I can highly recommend Lafone as a place to stay in Port Stanley and should I ever decide to make the pilgrimage again in the future, Lafone is where I’ll stay.

Over the space of a four week stay in the Falkland Islands we spent a total of 5 nights at LaFone Guest House. It was a fabulous choice. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Lovely linens, comfortable beds and a wonderful ensuite. Breakfast was included and Arlette excelled with the most magnificent spread. A good choice of fruit, cereal, Yoghurt, pastries and more. Plus Arlette takes an order and you get a cooked breakfast freshly made.
It is only a short walk into town and a 5 minute walk will take you to a handy diner for evening meals.
I heartily recommend LaFone as a place to stay for a night or much longer.

A great place to stay if you are visiting the Islands, made extra special by the wonderful host. Beautifully decorated with comfy beds, hot showers and the best full English breakfast you could ask for. It has lovely views out across the bay and is situated just a short walk from town and even closer to the local diner. You won't be disappointed.

Very hard to add anything to the stunning 2024 reviews of this wonderful place and of the owner and hostess Arlette. We stayed for two nights before going to Bleaker and Carcass and two nights after. So quiet, stunning views, within walking distance of town and the fabulous restaurant Shorty's just up the hill. And so reasonably priced. If you are thinking about going here, just do it. You will love it

Fantastic 7 weeks spent enjoying Arlette’s hospitality! Lafone House is a stunning home from home overlooking Stanley Harbour. Arlette is the ultimate host, with her attention to detail second to none. Her home baking is a treat to behold and savour! Truly a special place to stay or just a visit for an afternoon tea…you won’t be disappointed.

Arlett (the owner) has a wonderful and very large house - we were treated to exceptionally friendly service. Arlett has a wealth of knowledge about Stanley and helped us secure the best guide on the island. Highly recommended!

With Liberty Lodge full we chose this location. The photographs are exactly as it is. But get inside and it’s home, a lovely place to relax, near town and on the waters edge, the breakfasts are great, even very early in the morning! Sleeping is great, it’s so quiet. Very well recommended.

We had a fantastic stay at Lafone guest house. Arlette couldn't of done more to accommodate us. Excellent breakfast. Really comfortable beds. 10 min walk from the pubs & shops. Could t recommend more.

I highly recommend staying at Arlette's in Stanley. Her hospitality was second to none, not to mention the never ending supply of home-baked treats!
Lafone House is also brilliantly located within walking distance of all the main sights in town and has wonderful views overlooking the harbour.

Had a beautiful room overlooking Stanley Harbour, with en-suite bathroom. (Note some rooms share a common bathroom). Arlette Betts (proprietor) is a most generous host and serves a great breakfast; evening meals can also be arranged if required.
Property appears to have been recently refurbished to a very high standard. Central heating.

Hola Ana si hay tarifas más baratas en diferentes épocas no lo se. Supongo que no. Yo fui en septiembre con un amigo, nos cobraron 70 libras por noche cada uno. No sé cuales son tus intereses en este viaje, pero si querés ver por ejemplo los montes donde hubo batallas o el cementerio de Darwin, o todo en general, se te puede complicar porque puede estar colmado de nieve además del frío, en septiembre era inexplicable y el viento ni hablar... me imagino que en julio puede ser peor. De todas maneras si te gusta el frío y demás todo bien. Hay una página de turismo de las “Falklands” donde aparece el Lafone House y ahí está el e-mail de Arlette, es muy amable la señora. Espero te sirva mi respuesta. Saludos!
