Nestled in a bustling area of Singapore, Village Hotel Albert Court by Far East Hospitality is lauded for its excellent location, with easy access to MRT stations and nearby attractions like Little India. Guests commend the hotel's cleanliness and responsiveness of the housekeeping team.
While some guests suggest that the amenities and service could be more consistent, the overall value is appreciated for the affordability and occasional complimentary upgrades. The charming atmosphere of the rooms, which blend antique aesthetics with modern comforts, is a highlight for many, although the noise level can sometimes be a concern.

Detailed Reviews

Overall a comfortable 6 days stay. The location is good to access to the nearest attraction, Little India, Guanyin temple, delicacies food at Albert Centre and even a not so long walk to Bugis and the famous Haji lane.
This Deluxe room that we stay was on 2nd level of the main building, despite facing the main road but the soundproof is considered very good, even better than the noise generated from the doorway.
Room is clean and big enough for the two of us. However, there are some flaws that hotel needs to improve:
(1) Room lights when switched on are little dim with the curtain draws up (since it’s at 2nd level, curtain draws up for privacy is necessary). This definitely affects ladies who make up at the desk with mirror that fixed onto the wall. It will be even worst when one has myopia that movable mirror is most preferred.
(2) There wasn’t any coffee table for 2 pax. One has to sit at the work desk area and another has to sit on the bed, which is very inconvenient.
(3) There is no hand towel provided
(4) There was an occasion that we stayed 2 nights already and we placed the card to indicate the change of linen intention, and realised the pillow case wasn’t changed but just folded nicely only. There was also a rag that left on the floor (forgot to take). After notified the front desk, subsequent housekeeping improved and front desk bothers to call to ensure everything is ok for us. We hope that the housekeeping treats the placement of card for change of linen seriously.

TL;DR- Village Hotel Albert Court is conveniently located near Rochor and Little India MRT stations, making it easy to explore Singapore. While the rooms are comfortable and the hotel offers good value for its location, some services and staff interactions could be improved.
Village Hotel Albert Court boasts an excellent location, just a short walk from Rochor and Little India MRT stations. Singapore’s public transportation system is efficient and reliable, and this hotel’s location makes it easy to get around. However, the hotel advertised a shuttle service from Changi Airport, which was not available. I ended up booking a City Shuttle, which took around 20-30 minutes to reach the hotel. If you’re visiting Singapore for the first time, I’d recommend using the MRT instead, as it’s more affordable and convenient than booking a taxi or shuttle.
The hotel room was decent, with enough space and comfortable beds. The air conditioning worked well, and hot and cold water were consistently available. While the view from the room was unremarkable, the location more than compensated for this. The ground floor features bars and restaurants, and although it got slightly noisy on one Friday night, it wasn’t overly disruptive.
I received two coupons during my stay and used them at Shish Mahal. The food was average, and the waitstaff could have been more polite. The hotel itself has a gym, which seemed nice, though I didn’t get a chance to use it. There’s also a restaurant inside the building; my experience there wasn’t great as the staff seemed somewhat dishonest. I only had coffee, which was fine, but the overall service left something to be desired.
On a positive note, the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. If you’re looking for an affordable hotel in a central location close to major attractions, Village Hotel Albert Court is a solid option to consider.

A stone's throw from Little India, in a very quiet setting, the hotel has a typically colonial air and a Victorian style and is very clean and airy. The room was simple but with all the necessary comforts (perhaps the bath curtain could be replaced by a more modern glass). Breakfast was varied in terms of savory foods, a little less so in terms of sweet foods (it wouldn't be bad to offer a few more desserts or croissants). The wifi signal wasn't the best but nothing too serious. Overall, we recommend this hotel for its tranquility, the courtesy of the staff (from reception to breakfast to floor staff) and the enviable location (there are 2 metro stations within walking distance, Rochor and Little India).

The hotel is quite comfortable and location is the best. Within hotel premises you will find multiple bars and indian food joint called Sheesh Mahal though they are costly. Also one indian grocery store is there where you can find everything including liquors.
Best part is across the road you have Little india and multiple indian food hotels with cheap price for overall meals. As i was travelling with senior citizen and toddler so had to arrange for each meal indian food so i had to struggle a bit but due to location it was quite reachable.
The hotel doesnt provide microwave within room or anywhere inside hotel so if you are thinking to take frozen food packets like haldirams then it will be waste.

I stayed with my 7-year-old son. I decided to come here because it seemed cheaper, roomier and more accessible than other hotels. I requested a 'quiet room' at the time of Reservation but it was really quiet and relaxed at night.
The shower is the same room as the toilet, but it was easy to use because of the shower curtain and bathtub. There was plenty of hot water.
There were parts that were damaged, maybe it was an old hotel, but it was perfectly fine.
There was a convenience store, a local food court and a station right there.
I want to stay again.

This is a convenient location; there is an MRT station 2 minutes walk away plus Little India and Bugis within very easy walking distance. City Hall MRT is within walking distance. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and staff are efficient (it would be a good idea to tell guests that the wifi needs to be reconnected from the wifi list if it has been unused for 12 or more hours). One thing which is annoying is the bathroom plumbing noise from adjoining rooms. It is loud enough to disturb sleep and sounds as if it is from your own bathroom. Noise from the hallway also easily penetrates and conversations can be clearly heard.

The place and ambience were really welcoming. The setup of the whole hotel feels very homely and comfortable, easy to find our way around. Location is perfect. All necessary amenities of good quality provided. Just next to MRT and easy access to restaurants and 7/11. Hassle free checkin and checkout. They do daily cleaning and laundry that was really great as the room felt brand new everyday, which we had to request not to coz we were only in the room for the night as we were sightseeing. Even coffee, towels and all get replaced in their daily cleaning. The staff were really supportive and friendly. I’m sorry i couldn't get the name of the lady who did out check in, but big shoutout to her for making us feeling feel very welcomed and made our stay great from the start and was willing to assist in our queries as first timers to singapore. Big shoutout to Ahgilan who was a very lovely soul and corporative in checking out and storing out luggages as we had a few hours to kill until our flight time. He went beyond and above to be supportive. Also would like to appreciate Grace and JJ for their support in making our stay comfortable. Overall really happy and would definitely recommend to stay at Village Hotel Albert Court.

We came for three weeks with our two-year old son. We took a family room, which is very spacious and comfortable - highly recommended for families with kids. All the staff were very friendly: Azz and Chang the cleaners; Daniel, Jamal and Johan in the reception desk; Ehgalian in the restaurant; and all others whose name we do not remember.. All of them made us feel at home. They were very patient towards our highly-energetic son. Maintenance and house-keeping people come very quickly when asked - we never waited more than 5-10 minutes.
The food in the restaurant is not kosher, but there are plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables that Jews can eat: watermelons, melons, apples, oranges, tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers.
One thing to improve: to make the room better fit for long stays, it would be good to have a real refrigerator, that can store food (at 4 celsius), and not only cool beverages (8-12 celsius).

We had booked hotel for 7 night stay. Our check in time was 2 pm but we reached hotel around 10 am since our flight landed at Singapore airport at 7 am. When we checked in at 10 am, the lady at the desk told us that the room is not available, and we cannot get early check in. We requested for early check in just to get freshen up and go out, but we were not allowed. Then, I offered money for early check in and immediately as soon as I paid some 70 SGD, I was given room keys in 5 minutes. After that, as soon as we checked in our room, which we had booked through Make My Trip as Deluxe room for 2 adults and 1 kid (of 8 years), the room was just having one queen bed. I told them that it was not possible for 3 persons to accommodate in that bed but there was no solution. They kept saying that this is what you have booked and you will get this room only. I asked for extra bedding, and it was chargeable at another 80 SGD which is not charged in any good hotel world over. Then, I asked for twin bed room and the reception guy showed me at least 4-5 rooms which were unoccupied and available. We were surprised to know that even after so many rooms being unoccupied, we were denied early check-in until we paid extra money. Finally, we stayed in twin bed room for 7 nights and would like to mention that the stay was not at all comfortable. Hospitality was Zero. The only 3 rating is for albert restaurant on the second level which had good Indian food and also much better hospitality.

Best thing is to start with is the bedding..it is neither too soft nor too hard, just optimum to give you good night sleeping, after so much walking around city. Just take hot bathtub for your paining soles and go for cool beer or nice food just outside the hotel. There is an old couple who brew nice beer.. my husband loved it..and then there is Sishh Mahal for Indian Food. You can get good food inside hotel also. Ver nice location, near to 7-11, Burgs Street, Little India Arcade..hotel staff is very cooperative. We ordered grab on day and they gave us disposable cutlery on request immediately. Also they helped in slicing fruits purchased from local market...really helpful.., esp., Yap Lee San, he is responsible for night shift. Gave us room without any delay and easy to approach and talk. Overall nice experience here.
