Nestled close to the airport and local amenities, Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy is praised by guests for its strategic location and convenient access to dining and shopping. While the service is often lauded for its friendliness, some guests have encountered issues with organization. The hotel's atmosphere is described as comfortable and tranquil, with cleanliness being a standout feature.
However, opinions on the rooms are mixed; they are noted as spacious but sometimes outdated and not always well-maintained. The amenities are appreciated, although there are sporadic comments on their upkeep.

My partner and I have stayed at the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy at Marina Parade for 6 nights of a 7 night booking. Due to an early morning flight tomorrow I am confidently reviewing our stay now.
We had booked into a Deluxe Room with Ocean Room and were kindly upgraded to an Executive Room with Ocean Room due to my Accor plus membership.
The room was clean and spacious with plenty of room for our luggage and still space for us to move around in comfortably. The bed and pillows were also comfortable and the view out to the ocean was lovely.
The bathroom was also clean & a reasonable size with a shower over bathtub configuration. Housekeeping each day was meticulous.
All the staff we interacted with were polite and genuinely interested in assisting us to enjoy our stay. A special thanks to the concierge Mr. Marimuthu for always being on hand to help with transport & advice. Your kindness was truly appreciated.
The location of the hotel is exceptional. I had stayed in the centre of the city on my last visit in September and wanted something more genuine Singaporean with more local colour for this trip with my partner. We had both decided that we wanted to live and eat like locals as much as possible. This hotel location fits the bill, it is literally opposite an MRT station making it so easy to get around Singapore. We traveled widely most days. When there is no nearby MRT where you are going all Taxi/ Grab drivers know the hotel and it is only ever a short wait to get a ride. East Coast Park and the beach is literally only 10 minutes walk away and there are so many local eating options all walking distance and most are incredibly affordable.
This hotel is definitely a good 4 star alternative to the city centre hotels for your next Singapore trip (& it is closer to the airport too!). Do consider it if you would like to explore more than the city centre.

Although it is far from the downtown area, it will be convenient as a subway station will be built in front of the hotel in 2024. A clean hotel with a delicious breakfast. The toilet and bathroom make the sound of running water all day, but the room is quiet. Everything you need is available. There is a cafe next to the front desk on the first floor, a restaurant on the third floor, and a training gym, pool, and currency exchange machine on the fourth floor. To go to the pool, you put on a bathrobe over your swimsuit and go back and forth to your room. Towels were in a wooden box in front of the pool. There was also an automatic water dispenser in the corridor on each floor, so you could fill a plastic bottle when you went out, or boil water in the pot in the room, so there was no need to buy mineral water. My room was in the building opposite, but the sea could be seen from other rooms, and part of the fourth floor had a terrace where you could go to the pool.

My wife and I had a great evening on 7 June 2024 enjoying your delicious buffet dinner in your Feast Asia Restaurant. We were well served by your manager, Gabriel who is professional, courteous and friendly. We appreciated his genuinely warm welcome when we arrived in Feast Asia. He made sure that we were well served throughout our meal. One of his assistants Joy was very attentive and cheerful, and she provided us with a finger bowl and extra paper towels when she saw us peeling prawns. She also cleared our used plates discreetly, and when we noticed her presence, she would give us a nice smile. We had a chat with Joy, as we appreciated her good service. We learnt that she is a relatively new trainee from abroad, and that she is keen to learn to improve her service standard.
Please thank Gabriel and Joy for making our buffet dinner so special with their attentive, courteous and friendly service which is much appreciated by us.

I’ve stayed at the Roxy since 2012, mainly for work but any family trips going through Singapore and I’ve always booked here.
Over the course of 200 + nights the one major thing the Roxy can offer guests is the staff and location. The staff have always been excellent and remain so, the location (whilst a little out of the way) has everything you need. From 328 Katong Laksa to Sin Hoi Sai Eating house and multiple hawker stalls and malls within a 5 minute walk, you don’t need to go far.
Unfortunately though that’s where it stops now! The Roxy was a dated hotel when I first arrived 11 years ago, since then the rooms have had little to no attention spent on them. Because of this the rooms are not great and if you’re going an Executive room just save your money. The rest of the hotel is the same as well. Since 2019 there’s been constant construction going on in the foyer and the elevators always seem to be getting serviced.
If you do book an Executive room or you have access to Executive Lounger through Accor, you’ll be disappointed. The lounge on the 17th floor has been refreshed and looks good but nothing happens there anymore. No Executive Lounge breakfast, no staff, no evening snacks and drinks. If you want evening snacks and drinks it’s now on the 4th floor for some reason but the offering is considerably less than it use to be. For breakfast you’ll be off to the restaurant with everyone else. So honestly, with the room quality and reduced service levels the Executive upgrade isn’t worth it.
Lastly it appears the Changi Airport shuttle service that use to occur every day has been removed by management along with the weekend shuttle to Marina Bay. So factor the use of taxis into your cost when weighing up your accommodation options.
Overall, it’s disappointing to see this once excellent hotel degrade to the point where it’s just a 3 star hotel. I’ve had a lot of good times here over the last decade but I won’t be spending anymore time here.

I went for a staycation at Grand Mercure Roxy during the National Day weekend recently and the experience was not only disappointing, the whole weekend was aggravated by the service mix up at the hotel. From check-in to check-out, I had to clarify and show proof and it just ruined the staycation which was meant for relaxation.
My booking was made via the Accor app under my Accor Silver membership and there was the option to add on 2 breakfasts at point of sale. Payment was already made weeks back but at check-in, Maria the staff at the counter told me it was "breakfast optional". I showed her my payment receipt and then she went to check with her colleagues before telling me I had additional $28.30 incidental extra which I could use (as I apparently had "overpaid" on the breakfast charges). Sceptical since it was almost 180⁰ change from having not paid for breakfast to now overpayment, my mum asked for Maria to put it in writing, and Maria also said she would inform her colleagues at the bar and cafe.
It was not so. At Breeze bar, I had to re-explain the situation and when I bought some finger food and there was some difference, and I wanted to pay the difference at the bar, the staff told me it will be settled at check-out. Alarm bells were ringing as I felt that the message was not passed on by Maria. True enough at breakfast the next day, the staff nearly stopped me from entering saying that I not only had not paid for breakfast, I had extra charges to the room. I was so angry I was starting to raise my voice and the male staff in suit told me it was an Accor problem. They eventually let me in but my entire experience was spoiled and was just forcing myself to eat breakfast since I paid almost $50 on the app for it. I spent the whole time at breakfast emailing the hotel and Accor to understand who made the mistake and who messed up.
Finally, I check out, it was another round of explaining myself before Maria was brought it to sort it out and finally help to charge the difference of the food bought at Breeze bar. She said I should have paid the difference at the bar and I angrily said that it was her colleagues there who told me that the difference will be sorted at check out. Albeit it was resolved, my entire weekend was spoiled and now I'm pissed off by Accor.
The hotel's amenities also is bad for a 4star hotel - the toilet emanated a bad smell that couldn't be flushed or washed away. The aircon was old and with a dial which didn't really adjust the temperature. Breeze bar was using a tower fan instead of air-conditioning, rendering the bar feeling stuffy and humid. Just an overall horrible experience. I am wary of Accor hotels now as it would seem that they don't communicate the app bookings appropriately to their Group of hotels.
I would recommend people stayed at JW Marriott, or Hilton or Shangri-la instead. For a almost $300 for a night's stay, I think you can find a better staycay experience elsewhere. Grand Mercure is nowhere near a Premium experience.

Rooms at the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy is aging but functional. I stayed at the Studio Suite, which had warm earthy tones, low lighting, a marble tiled bathroom, and a carpeted living room. Said to have a "chic minimalist zen" vibe, I didn't quite feel it, although I still decently enjoyed the experience. . The large king size bed is clean and comfortable, with sheets changed daily (!). The working deck is spacious, and the wireless internet is fast and stable although the router is exposed beneath the table. The television has a decent range of cable channels, but isn't a smart TV, so there's no option for streaming. . The bathroom features a toilet, shower, and bathtub in separate areas, with amenities stocked. The shower has options for regular or rain shower mode. The bathtub is decent sized, easy to use, however, you cannot shower standing up due to the lack of a splash guard. . Service at the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy is professional and efficient. Reception staff work quickly, checking guests in or out, with porters to assist with baggage during peak periods. They demonstrate good knowledge of the surrounding areas of interest. . Housekeeping staff work efficiently as well, turning around rooms with good effort, though a little more attention to detail in cleanliness would be welcome. . Their affordable price range per room night, and proximity to the airport, make the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy hotel one of the better options. . Food at the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy is primarily from their all-day dining restaurant, Feast Roxy. Sadly, the Executive Lounge was undergoing refurbishment during my visit, so a section of Feast Roxy was carved out as a replacement lounge. . The service staff at Feast Roxy seat guests quickly, and proactively offer to clear finished plates throughout the meal, but don't engage in much conversation. Quality of dishes, at least for breakfast, is decent enough (though with the myriad dining options around the hotel, I'd rather dine elsewhere). Dishes are generally about average in taste and presentation, not terrible, but not particularly exciting or memorable.

We had washing hanging on the line above the bathtub. Housekeeping hung the t-shirts on plastic hangers and hung them in the sunny window. They also left additional hangers because the others were fixed in the wardrobe. The bus stop for the airport bus is approximately 200 m from the hotel and the new local Metro line is nearly complete. We will definitely stay here again when in Singapore.

The best part of this hotel is the location. There is a shopping mall across the road, good food all around the hotel and a 10mins walk to the East Coast beach. East Coast beach is 15km long and one can cycle, swim, fish, and do various sea sports.
The room is of a good size, with the usual closet, writing table, a lounge chair and table. With all the furniture, one can still open up their luggages and have walking space all around. The restroom has a bathtub. Room is clean. The air con is strong. 2 small areas which I felt could be improved. 1) Lighting in the room. It is ok during daytime but when night falls or if it was cloudy, the room is rather dark. The white cove lights are directed upwards, 2 down lights each at window and entrance with no lightings in the main area of the room. The lamp at the writing table and the bedside table are too dim and light is only directed straight downwards. Maybe the hotel could replace the writing table lamp with cool white LED lamps for people who wants to read, study or write. 2) The shower is in the same area as the bathtub. This is fine but the shower head is the fixed type and is very old. It would be good to replace these shower heads to the one with flexible hoses.
The service in the hotel was great. From the time into the hotel, checking in, dining and checking out were all met with fantastic customer services. Kudos to all the staff. My son and I had dinner in Feast Roxy and I ordered a bowl of Laksa and asked if the kitchen could deshell the prawns in my laksa. The restaurant staff immediately said "sure".

We stayed at the Grand Mercure Roxy on a stopover to and from a trip to Europe. The hotel is located nearly halfway between the airport and the city centre in a nice residential area (away from the hustle and bustle!). There are many nice restaurants behind the hotel and a wander up Joo Chiat Rd takes you past many quaint old tea houses. Opposite the hotel is a large airconditioned shopping mall and a hawker stall area where you can get a good, cheap feed, plus a large supermarket. We caught a taxi from the airport on our first stopover as we arrived at 1am. The hotel was about a 15 min taxi ride away and cost SGD28. For the rest of our stay we used the no.36 bus which does a loop from the airport to the city centre. The bus stops directly outside the hotel for the airport and across the road for the city centre. The bus can get crowded but we found it a very convenient and cheap way of getting around (it comes approx. every 10 mins). The rooms at the Grand Mercure Roxy are a good size with a good size bathroom. On both stays our twin room had two very comfy double beds with nice quality linen. Although the room on our first stay showed signs of wear and tear, the room we had on our return trip seemed newer - same decor. I would definitely stay here again on my next Singapore stopover.

It was horrible experience, and it make me angry and remind this terrible customer service whenever they send promotion email to my email account. I had during my recent stay at the Grand Mercure Roxy Singapore from September 10th to 12th, 2024. I had booked two rooms under the same name and made a special request over the phone for the rooms to be on the same floor if possible next door, as I was traveling with an elderly group, including two individuals in their 80s, one of whom has a disability. - They allocated rooms on the 7th and 8th floors, even end of corridor far from elevator which caused significant inconvenience for us. - No complimentary water bottles in the rooms, citing environmental protection. However, you have to buy for in Hot Singapore weather - The extra bed that was provided was in poor condition - Despite having no service charge listed at the time of booking, I was suddenly charged a 10% service charge. - When I questioned this, I was told it was part of the "Tax," and mandatory. - What was more insulting was the staff's attitude. Instead of addressing my concerns, they tried to "educate" me, stating that this 10% charge is standard across all hotels in Singapore, - Even manager told me it was my responsibility to check the Terms and Conditions in the email link they had sent. (there are no T&C in booking email Do not stay this hotel!!!!!

taxi fare can cost between $25 or more depending on traffic. another option is the MRT which is right in front of the Hotel or Bus 36 from the airport. Bus 36 stops right on the opposite side of the hotel.
