The hotel is a great value for money, it has two large pools and a wide variety of breakfast options, very conveniently located close to Orchard with many shops and restaurants. The staff is very helpful and attentive, specifically Cai who made sure our room is always clean and tidy, providing us with all the amenities, while accommodating our schedule to ensure we are never disturbed. The hotel is conveniently located with complete facilities. It is just that the lobby is a bit messy because it receives tour groups. The first impression is that it is clean and beautiful. Bottled drinking water is not provided in the house. The tap water is purified and can be drunk directly. This is very environmentally conscious. The room is very quiet and warm. It is worth mentioning that Miss Cai Ting has a very good service attitude. She always takes care of my needs and is very attentive. The bed is very comfortable to sleep on. The Mercure and Novotel are actually one combined interconnected hotel complex, with guests having access to all the facilities, pools, restaurants, gym etc of both.
The hotel seemed very busy with people arriving and departing at all times and a constant stream of vehicles picking up or dropping off guests, so a bit chaotic.
There is a bus stop at the front, but the nearest MRT on Stevens is some distance away, though walkable if not too hot and humid. However there is a complementary scheduled shuttle service that runs to Stevens MRT and Orchard Road. There is nothing nearby to walk to, though the shuttle makes up for that. However there is a small convenience store at the front.
We were in a Privilege room on the 10th floor, which gave us lounge access and had good views. The first room we were taken too was very small, but we were then allocated a larger room. The hanging and storage space was minimal, but the staff helped by providing extra coat hangars and suitcase stands. The shower bathroom was tiny, but adequate with nice toiletries. It would have benefitted from a washing line.
Service in the lounge was excellent with continental breakfast and evening snacks and drinks available during happy hour. The staff were really kind and helpful.
Both pool areas were pleasant, though the Infinity Pool was busier and didn’t always have loungers free. The lap pool got less sun, so wasn’t as popular. There were a number of outdoor seating areas in the gardens, as well as a bouncy castle for children.
The restaurant food quality and choice was good, with friendly staff. With a 12 day stay we had time to sample quite a number of the choices, though sometimes things weren’t available, and for the duration of our stay there was no ice cream. Service wasn’t fast, but that was because apart from breakfast food was cooked to order. Very few guests came to eat lunch. There were three other restaurants in the complex, but appeared to be independent and not part of our full board package.
There seemed to be a certain amount of disruption and reorganisation going on during our stay. The Prestige Lounge on the second floor of the Mercure was relocated to a smaller room on the 10th floor of the Novotel, and we had to get our key cards altered to allow us to use the Novotel lifts to get there. Then the gym was closed for renovation and moved into the former Prestige lounge, which wasn’t really designed to house a gym. Then on our last day a notice arrived to advise that room service was being suspended. Another of the hotel economies was that rooms were only serviced on alternate days.
As well as the laundry service provided by the hotel, there was a small laundrette where guests could easy dry and iron their own clothes. This we found useful.
Despite the good food and excellent lounge service we wouldn’t chose to stay here again. Too busy and there are far more convenient locations.

Gopi checked us in after a long flight we were fairly tired. He was lots of fun and very helpful accommodating us and our adult son to have rooms close to each other.

The hotel environment is very good, close to Orchard Road, the room is clean and comfortable, and the facilities are complete. Because of advocating environmental protection, the hotel does not provide mineral water, but there is filtered water in the room. If you don’t like to drink filtered water, you can also buy mineral water at the 7-11 convenience store downstairs. Here I would like to give special praise to Caiting. Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights after a cruise. The hotel is located in a quiet area. The metro is a 10-minute walk away, and there is also a free shuttle service to 2 metro stations and back according to the schedule.
