After a lot of research, we choose the Piccolo based on its reviews and ratings, however it was one of the dearest hotels we have stayed in, in South East Asia at $200NZ a night. The rooms are very small.
On arrival we noticed the TV was going in our room and really loud and the view we had was terrible (of a wall and rubbish) however the view wasn’t the problem the noise from the kitchen below was, we worked out why the TV was on (they knew about this issue when putting us in the room), we had to get them to shut the kitchen vat and generator down so we could sleep but it started back up at 6am. We asked for a new room and they were very accommodating moving us, we even had a lovely view of the pool.
House keeping was pretty slack, with shower not being done at all over the 5 days, which meant no new toiletries or soap supplied and the empty packets left there for the 5 days. The hotel also didn’t supply handtowels or wash clothes only towels, this may be a Philippine thing as we noticed this elsewhere as well.
Breakfast was included in the price and it was average you weren’t allowed a coffee and a organe juice, you were only allowed one thing and no refill.
For the price I think you could definitely get better.

The hotel is walking distance from the beach and also near the DMall and restaurants.
They have their own restaurant and free breakfast was included with your booking. The coffee included with breakfast was refillable.
They have two small pools inside and I was impressed with the feet washing area at the entrance.
The only thing I don’t with my room was the messy bathroom. Messy because the water from the shower was sipping through outside.

The enterior of the building is very inviting and the staff are approachable. The area is located on the other side of the lake so there is flood on the pathway going to the hotel during rainy season or if it's raining. It’s really hard to go outside of the hotel because of the flood though they have bike service to avoid the flood but not 24/7. The room assigned to us has molds in the ceiling, the smell of the room is off maybe because of the molds. Our room is located at 4th floor so wifi is very weak.
Pros: affordable, they have bar and resto to serve food. Toiletries provided for bath.
Cons: flood on the pathway going to hotel, off smell of the room with molds.

I was in this hotel last year. I paid for a double room. There was a very small window on the top of the wall, very low light and fresh air in the room, so it was very hot and you need to keep the light on at all times. There was air conditioning but the device was incredibly noisy, so either you choose not to sleep cause it's too hot or because it's too noisy. The room has been advertised as having a window, which is true , but I didn't expect how ridiculous it was. Overall, in my opinion, it wasn't worth the money I paid for it. So I checked out and moved to a different hotel, on the beach, similar price, a completely different story. It was much much better for me.

All the lower score review here are real!!! They will charge you unnecessary bill. The staff are not rude but they just don’t know how empathize to the guest concern. Breakfast for the kids are chargeable, no information on arrival even though it is indicated in you booking confirmation that kids are free. Lost keys is worth 650 pesos. I mentioned all my concerns from the time sent an emails 2 months ago without any response. The beds set up request are not done. No extra bed provided. We enjoyed our stay in boracay but it’s just disappointing how my concern has been handled on check out.

This place could be so good. The biggest issue here is by far the communication, they just don't know how to communicate it's like there was a culture of fear!
There is work going on at 7:00 a.m. in the morning and nobody communicated this to anybody.
There is a huge glass screen when you are greeted in this Hotel, you honestly feel as if you're a criminal in a bank. It's impossible to hear what they are saying through the glass for the simple reason is there is so much noise in the lobby or they have music blaring very loudly.
I have no idea what the management does here i have the sneaky suspicion they just hide in the background, in fact when i was complaining with regards to my return transfer the manager left the cubicle and let the front office assistance deal with it.
This is not the way a good hotel is run it's like they don't know how to deal with westerners.
The breakfast while it's quite nice once they get it right, is predominantly cold you can see the kitchen and it's not far away. I have no clue how the breakfast gets cold from the kitchen to the table. it's like the kitchen prepared but the staff don't go and collect it until... oh it's too late.
This place like i said could be really really good um yeah the air conditioning is not strong in the rooms as you would have in some of the places and i read a review that said that the path outside was terrible in muddy, You know that's not true that's actually it's the same walk way that there is in all of the side streets in boracay in station 2. So like i said this place could be good it needs change in management and it needs that glass removed from reception a traditionally also needs communication training given to all of the staff or just class this is a filipino hotel i don't let westerners stay here.
Staying in room 110 was difficult too as the lock is broken on the door, I sprained my wrist trying to lock it, staff try and help but it's broken Mr Manager I suggest you fix it!
Other than that, room is nice and spacious, pool is like ice but great location and free beach towels for the three minute walk to the beach.

We will never ever come back to this hotel.
1) Reception asked for early checkin fee. We declined giving it as it’s almost 2pm. At 2:10 PM, rooms were still not ready. Why ask for early check-in fee?
2) Towels and bottled water were not replenished. I called the reception I was told there’s no more bottled water and if I can wait for tomorrow morning.
3) During breakfast a lot of guest were complaining because the service was very slow. One guest became rude and I totally understand because there was no customer service at all.
4) The manager did not come out when we complained about why the room was still not ready. According to the staff the manager doesn’t know either. ?_? Maybe she’s the owner as clearly she doesn’t deserve to be a the hotel manager.
5) Overrated and overpriced restaurant menu.
We were not asking or demanding anything. A simple apology would be enough but instead they just ignored us and the manager was just hiding behind the desk looking at us.
Not a good place to stay. 100%

We just checked out of the hotel today after spending 3 wonderful nights. The hotel is a great value for money and is a few steps away from the beach. They DO provide beach towels contrary to some earlier reviews. The breakfast set menu had numerous options that should satisfy everyone's dietary needs. Perhaps the strongest asset of the hotel are its hardworking, always smiling staff. A special shout out to Ms. ABBAY and Mr. BOY for being so accommodating. Thanks

Worst hotel stay ever. For my fellow OFW this is a waste of your hard earned money if you gonna book this hotel. Very Poor service. Cleaning request of room is a nightmare. Incomplete room utensils provided and asked upon checking out that it was missing. No coordination from the front desk to house keeping in charge, you need to follow up daily the service water , coffee etc to be replenished each day. Booking this hotel is a huge mistake.

Hello, I don't remember if there is an incidental deposit. If that is a concern, contact the hotel directly.
Sorry, I cannot help you. Perhaps you can contact the hotel directly.
I do not know if you can use it but if you are booked in their hotel, you can use the pool free of charge.. but given the deep of the pool, its not advisable to train there unless you'll train a kid..
The hotel's airport shuttle is PHP1850/pax round trip. Very expensive considering that it would only cost you around PHP800/pax or less for round trip if you had arranged it yourself.
When we left the hotel, we had to rush so we got one of the tourist agents on the beach to arrange our transport to the airport. He was very efficient and quick, so we thought it was worth paying him PHP700 per pax for that trip.
Wifi works. There is a safety deposit box yes.
